Anyone watch Storage Wars?

The show seems to be sweeping North America! We have a relative who is in the storage unit business and has been for a long time but now he finds it difficult because of the show. It seems people think they are going to strike it rich by bidding on lockers. I really like the show and the charachters but I find Dave a bit tiresome (i know he is there for the money but...)

Ah! I just saw this on TV the other day. It's really a lot of fun to watch, and it's really exciting to see what's in the storage units. I feel sorry for your relative - but doesn't that mean he gets more people bidding on his abandoned storage units and therefore, higher bids?

I think the statement "storage unit business" is meant that he also bids on storage lockers and so therefore jacking the price up isn't a good thing. Have you seen the show Auction Hunters on Spike? I think it's better than Storage Wars.

Ohhh that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clarifying. And no, I'll definitely look it up sometime!

Like many, I've been hooked on this show. And even Auction Hunters. I find it interesting what people leave in storage. And how much money these 'hunters' turn in after bidding on a storage. But I also think that the show has been damaging to all the people that do this for a living. I'm sure there's a flock of people trying to get in the action everywhere. Yes, Dave is tiresome. I like Barry.

Well, if you could sell that for more than a buck, then you're already ahead!

I have watched it a few times but don't enjoy it as well as Auction Hunters. Storage wars seems very juvenile to me, bunch of 5 years old misbehaving. Auction Hunters seems to be much more interesting. They also have a disclosure that these lockers are the rare ones. Not every locker is going to net you a profit of $5k or more. I like that, most storage units are just peoples everyday belongings or the excess not family heirloom stuff.

yup you are right! they do seem to get petty at times. i bet they get about 10 bad lockers for every one good one they show on tv.

I love the show! Sorry though that it is making things hard for your relative. I'm sure it's just a fad and soon it will wear off and people will move on to trying something else. I don't like Dave either. He is such a jerk. I'm sorry if his family screwed him over, but he is bidding on stuff just to drive up the price for everyone else and that is just rude. But doesn't it figure that when you want him to get screwed and you think he has a crappy room, he finds one thing in it that doubles his money.

I did religiously watch the first season of storage wars, but I haven't seen any of the new episodes of the show because there have just been too many things on tv that I would want to watch. With that said, I do like all of the characters that are on the show, but like you, I'm not particular fond of Dave. He is just really a jerk in my opinion and that makes him hard to watch. Jared and Brandy are my favorites.

Yeah I watch and love the show. I watch the show every Wednesday. I find it to be interesting and always curious to see what is in the storage units and how much money the bidders make on the units. Sorry for your relative having difficulties by the way. I can understand how it can be hard for your relative since I myself thought of buying units to make money, too after seeing the show.

I don't watch it but once in a while my wife does. Sometimes when I am out of the room or out somewhere she will watch it. She watches it on on demand. I am always like I can't believe you are watching that. Then she tells me she fins it interesting to see how much they can make on the stuff in the storage bins, I guess in that way it is interesting.

Hi Cher913, yes I have watch this show. It is interesting at times, and dull and boring at other times. I do be curious to see what is in the storage units when they open them. But how is is making it difficult for your relatives business? In his business is he renting storage units? Or is he bidding on storage Units? In any case I am sorry for his difficulties.
