Why does everyone want to go to heaven but no body wants to die?

If there is a paradise called heaven where there are no problems or conflict. In Heaven you are always happy and never sad. If heaven is as real as Australia and the only way to get there is to die, why doesn't anyone want to die? Even if someone pointed a gun at you and asked if you want to go to heaven today, why do so many say They want to go to heaven but not die or at least not die today. Why don't any of you want to die today to get to heaven right now? I mean heaven is a beautiful place with no problems so why not get there sooner?

Fear of the unknown! Many believe in a heaven but they are not sure they will actually go. Remember you can Only get to heaven if.... and the list of ifs is long for many religions.thought. So they rather stay here as long as they can. Me? I never thought I would get to heaven so I never tried. And yet I was ready to die at a minute's notice. So not Everyone doesn't want to die, or assumes they will go to heaven.

I think it's because "true believers" deep down, must think it's all BS, otherwise they would be queuing up to go to their God. ...surely?

Could it be that we were made to live on earth? Psalm 37:29 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) 29The righteous possess the land, And they dwell for ever on it. Matthew 5:5 King James Version (KJV) 5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

@ Graptopetalum... Thanks for your input. I speak English, French, Italian and some Sign Language. I do not have any understanding of either Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic, the languages in which the Holy Writings were written. Therefore I must use all the translations available to figure out the best word used in translation. My quotes of Scriptures were in harmony with the topic under discussion to show that there are really two destinies promised in the Bible, life in heaven for some and life on earth for the majority. This may be not understood by some. Yet it is all in the Bible. The earth will not be destroyed but it will be transformed under new management so that it will be as if it was a "new earth." (see Isaiah 65:17; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1)

spiderlizard22..we are programmed to fight for survival. However, I think there are many who are ok with dying either because of age or illness but they have a sense of knowing things should happen in a natural way.

some poeple afraid to die its because they think that they will never be alive again. dont think that you will enter heaven if you are not worshing god and worshiping god means fallow his law and avoid what is bad if you think that you are not avoiding bad and you think that you are not fallowing the law of god dont expect that you will go to heaven. but if you think that you are fallowing the law of god so expect you will enter heaven its because the promise of Allah will never be broken.

it is prohibited in our religion that let your self die or kill your self... what kind of question is that? "IF you think you will go to heaven then why not die today?"

Its been said that in Heaven we get to sit at the feet of God! Remember that heaven is forever, and think how much fun it would be sitting at the feet of God forever. I'd much sooner go to Hell where you get to shovel coal. At least there would be something to do!

This is what i think too.I mean you are told that in order to go to heaven you`ll need to learn how to love Jesus, you`ll start this because you are afraid of hell and "The Fear of the Lord Is the Beginning of Wisdom" .Then in time you start to love Jesus and you`ll end up saying "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God ".So what can you do in heaven other than serving the God you love ? If you are looking for fun then forget it

barehugs.. I don't believe we just 'sit at the feet of God"..in my opinion that is not meant literally . Just like when I was little I was told in heaven we could have all the candy we wanted all theime..lol. For me the next life will be more amazing than this one and dimensions will continue into eternity...that's all that makes sense to me..

I don't subscribe to the "angels sitting on clouds" view of heaven. I think it will be much more interesting and exciting than that. In the original version of Bedazzled there's a scene where George (Satan) demonstrates why he rebelled against God. He sits on top of a letter box and askes Dudley Moor's character to worship him. After a shot time Dudley stops and complains that it's boring and George says that's why he rebelled. However, have you even been in a large group worshiping? What about being the crowd at a rock concert on a sports match, which I think behave in much the way worshipers should? This is a lot of fun, isn't it?

Everyone want to go to paradise thro' flying not dying, if heaven is as real as Australia. It will be a lot easier to go to heaven this way than the traditional way.

Well, life is a rut that we've become rather accustomed to. Even when its a bother its a familiar place. Heaven, on the other hand, is a questionable existence. We know its a neat place to be but we don't know how so. We can speculate on it but we just don't know for sure..Being the kind of critters we are..Let me put it this way..Have you ever known someone in a bad situation who complained about the situation(s) but refused to push beyond it? And you think they're bonkers, right? They're not bonkers. They're human. We're critters who are comfortable in our knowledge and we find pleasure in our dreams and when we throw our emotions into the batch those emotions sometimes works against us and we grab desperately to what we should be willing to be loose of and become hesitant to reach for what we need pursue. Personally, I look forward to heaven. There is, however, another option that makes me back away..the lion and the lady kind of thing..shrug..Enjoy!

Do you believe in heaven? Do you have doubts about heaven? Do you think you will go to heaven when you die?

We will all die in time. But for as long as we're alive we shouldn't be asking to die. We should live the life that God has given us and when the time is right, we will die. It's not that I don't want to die to go to Heaven but it's not the time yet for me to die. When the time to die is here, I hope to die in peace.

The whole concept of heaven helps with the fear of dying. People are still afraid of dying but someone who believes they are going to heaven might be less afraid to die than someone who believes they are going to hell. Also people cherish their life and dont want to loose it even if you are in heaven you cannot be with your family and friends who are on earth all the time as if you were alive.

Why care about what you have on earth if you could just die today and be in heaven. Heaven is peaceful where good things happen all the time. You would be so happy that life on earth doesn't matter anymore.

Why would earth matter if paradise is in heaven. IF your in heaven wouldn't earth be meaningless to you if heaven is paradise since it has eternal bliss?

Life continues on earth even after you die. I still care about things on earth after I die life family and friends. Thats why people write a will to make sure everything is good after they die. If your in heaven and looking down at your children or grand children doing bad it should affect you even if its perfect in heaven. Remember heaven is actually outer space and if you go your on a space voyage and earth is still earth. My greatest fear of dying is leaving unfinished buisness behind on earth. I really dont dwell on heaven or hell too much to be honest because its not what people think. Some will go to heaven and travel galaxies and some will live again on earth there is no such place as hell unless you are in the center of a star or a black hole. So I dwell more on just trying not to die.

I think most people freak out with the idea of dying because we have a billion ways of dying, only sleeping is painless now a heart attack, a stroke and so many deaths are really painfull and I'm sure is terrifying. I'm glad we are far from times of torture and hanging, LOL, I'm sure people freaked more in the past.

I think the main reason for why we don`t want to die is that we are not sure that place really exists.Plus there is another place where most of us will go and it`s not such a nice place

No stary i mean some of us don`t think heaven exists. Those who think it exists also know that there is another place and they are afraid they will go there so at least here they are safe i mean it`s not as good as in heaven but it`s not as bad as in hell either

I don't know but you're absolutely right! I don't want to die, but I know it will someday happen! I do want to go to Heaven but I don't want to end everything I've worked for, here on Earth. It's for the better though because Heaven is filled with riches and prosperity, according to the Bible! God says we shouldn't be filled upmon the greed and the wealth of the world because it is sinful and evil, but hopefully online earnings aren't because I'm not wealthy with them!

You are so right, the heaven is rich. There is a planet out there that is solid Diamond. If you want to be prosperous, you have to go and get a piece of it. If you follow what God's henchmen preaches, you will have to work till your back bend to make ends meet and still give what they love - MONEY.

I think that is just built into our human make-up because we are meant to spend time hear, to learn, before our time is up. If no one was afraid of dying, we would all kill ourselves and never come back!

I think that a lot of people worry about whether they will go to Heaven or not. As we get older, we begin to think about everything that we might have done wrong during the course of our lives which may have contributed towards us going to Heaven or not. In addition to this, a lot of people might worry about what their families will be like when they die, and whether they would cope or not without them. I know that I worry about this a lot, so this might be one of the main reasons why a lot of people don't want to die either.

It is still clear in my mind when my mother talks about heaven. She always that paradise is place where we are living now. The form of paradise is happiness. To make people happy is a heaven deeds. Your happiness is paradise. So, you don't have to die if you want to know what heave looks like. You will feel the glory of heaven if your body, mind and soul are still united. Then when of theses element fall out, your happiness could not be ever complete. So, live happily as long as you could and that's your paradise.

because i've my beautifull life in the world today, before i go to the heaven i've to prepared my self to responsible to all i've done in this world. live or die tomorrow it's doesn't matter for me but what i've done today it's the most important thing, so if you can give more to the world today why do you want to die sooner??
• United States

IF you die sooner you get to be in a place that is better then being in this world. In heaven there is no stress or bullies. It is peaceful. Why live any longer? Don't you want to be in paradise?
