When is your Company Christmas Party?

Christmas party - attending Christmas party
Philippines
November 30, 2011 5:07am CST
and would you attend it? I do not have work right now so I don't have any Christmas party to attend to and I must say I miss those parties. My husband is working in a good company and right now he is out to attend their Christmas Party. Since, its holiday today here in our place they already grab the chance to have the party since when December comes they would be really busy. How about you, do you already have a schedule for the party? Would you attend?

HI amethyst!!are you a Filipino? :) Our company's Christmas party will be on Dec. 10. I'm not really excited about it because i know i will just have to pretend and act as friendly as i can be. I'm not a sociable person and don't like to be around a crowd. I only go out on a party with some close friends. And the costume theme and presentation they require from us is a headache for me! But the company has already booked us a flight months ago to the venue, i got no choice but to attend. And it'll be disrespectful if i cancel it knowing the cost incurred. Ouch! In short, I'm going to the party, whether i like it or not! :(

Wow, the company booked you guys a flight for your Christmas party? That's so awesome! I've never heard of that kind of a Christmas party before. Before when I was still working, we used to just have our Christmas party at a restaurant and the like, just a forma dinner or so, sometimes not even a formal one. Where are you guys going?

Hello periwinklez, yes I am a Filipino. It's cool that your company booked you for a flight, I wonder where are you going? What kind of venue are you going to have and what is the costume that is required to you. In my husband's company, they simply require and rock and roll theme, so black t-shirt is good enough already. They don't have to spend so much with the costume. @veronizm, eating in a restaurant is just fine, at least you don't have to worry about the venue and the food anymore because the company just have to reserved at the restaurant and they will take care of the rest. thank you for your response. have fun mylotting!

hi veron! we have branches nationwide and this is not the first time we gathered together. we also had a company outing for summer last april. actually it's so generous of the owner to expend on this matters and i truly appreciate it. but i'm not just the party type of person. haha!First time you heard about it? I think it's common especially to giant companies. I am very much aware of this because my friends' employer also hold such events. By the way where you from?

Hello mrfdg, oh, why is it that you don't have Christmas Party? But I have experienced that in the last company that I was employed, we didn't have Christmas party because the owner didn't believe with Christmas itself. But his wife would give us gifts. We would just celebrate new year's party instead. happy mylotting!

Hello chiyosan, are you excited for the party? but I am sure you will be tired also because of the things to organize and prepare. I have experienced that and it was so tiring because you want to make sure that everything is set and then in the end you still forget something. Have fun with your party and happy mylotting!!

Our bosses don't have a party. If we have a party with work people involved it's usually me that throws it. I haven't for the last couple of years either. The last one a few people got tipsy and I don't want to be responsible for someone getting hurt or whatever.

Hello jillhill, you have been throwing parties for your work mates? Do you just celebrate it at home or in a restaurant/bar. That's very nice of you and that is a good idea because your company doesn't have one. But like you said, you have to be careful to avoid getting hurt. Do you plan to have a party this year? Anyway, thanks for the response and have fun mylotting!!

Hello ardoy, since, December 25 falls on Sunday, the working day is until Friday, no extra holiday for the employees. I hope you will still have lots of fun with your party, and hopefully your suppliers would be generous enough. happy mylotting!

The company my husband works for has a Christmas party each and every year. They hire entertainment then have a buffet style type dinner. All the employees, spouses and children go because Santa is there. This is also when all the employees get their Christmas bonuses. This year though, we're not really sure if they are going to have one. The company has been going down here really fast this year. We are hoping and praying that they get bonuses especially since I got laid off and have no income. But if they don't get a bonus then we will just figure out something else :)

Hello jennastewart, the Christmas party of your husband's company sounds like a lot of fun since family can go there too. They can join the fun and the feasting with the food. I do hope they will still have a party this year, or maybe instead of spending money with the party they would just give it to their employees as a bonus. Anyway, thanks for the response and have fun mylotting!!

Hi red! Yup, our office already has a schedule for our Christmas Party. It will be on December 13. It's a little early they say but our big boss wants it that day because she is not available on later dates. It was originally scheduled on December 20 but she's going to be in Thailand in that date and she wants to be present during the party so she rescheduled it. .

Our company's Christmas Party would be this Saturday. The theme would be Masquerade Ball. Yes I will attend, I am hoping to win a prize in the raffle. I don't have a mask yet but I'm still positive that I can still make or buy one before Saturday.

Nope, no christmas party for my company because i'm my own boss.. haha :D I can only be out there partying with friends, strangers because i have no colleagues December is a good time to have parties because it's end of the year, with christmas, New year countdown and major year end events, so there are bound to have countless parties going on. When it comes to company functions, parties, i rather skip them as there are always limitations.. haha

We have a Christmas lunch on 23rd December. Since it is a regular working day we have to attend the party. Almost every year while arranging for the party I am also simultaneously doing my work. So the party mood gets spoilt and I dont much look forward to the Christmas party at all.

Hello mayka, that is hard, doing work while trying to arrange the party. I remember my office mate, she would always be stressed the whole day because of work and at night she have to attend the party. Sometimes, I even accompanied her to buy a dress for the party, just few hours before the party. I hope you will not be too stressed this coming party of yours. Anyway, thanks for the response and have fun mylotting!!

My company party is December 9th. I will be going again this year. It is at our work place which is nice because I don't have to go home to change. Our Christmas party lasts from 5:30 to midnight. They pay for a Caterer, an open free bar, and a DJ (though the DJ sucks and the food isn't enough to keep a bird alive). I still enjoy it because I get a chance to mingle with co-workers.

Hello gavinKaos, a Christmas party in the office is just fine as long as you can mingle with the co-workers. I do hope that this year, the caterer would prepare food that would be liked by all of you. And it seems December 9 is a busy day, I have read a from the replies here that they also have party on that day. Anyway, thanks for the response and have fun mylotting!

Me too. I don't work anymore and also don't have a company Christmas party to attend to, and like you, I miss it so much! I really like Christmas parties... But oh I forgot, my high school batchmates are gonna have one this coming December 30. Well technically it's not really a Christmas party but just a reunion... but I guess I can always imagine it as one (even though it's gonna be held past Christmas, hehehe!)

Well I am not working right now but my husband's Christmas work party is Dec. 9th.. we will go (only because he is VP and we need to make an appearance..but all the people do is get drunk and LOUD...I hate it. The beginning of the party is fun because everyone is sober and easier to talk to. So we'll go for an hour or so then head out the our friends house for a bit.

Hello mrswahl, I think, you can just show at the party, spend few minutes and you can go, anyway, he is the VP. Just make sure the program is done already and your husband's participation is done already so you can go out and just rest at home. Anyway, thanks for the response and have fun mylotting!
