I'm going "FREE" Christmas shopping tomorrow!!! Oh yes I really am!

Yes I am really going ot go christmas shopping for free tomorrow, on my own and I'm not going ot be spending any money or using my debit/credit card!!! How???? Well Tesco's has just brought me a lovely letter with some money tokens in it my reward for shopping in there supermarket and its all my club points added up etc..... for those who don't understand I'm sure someone will explain it better than me. Now I need ot buy some christmas gifts and pay day is a while off so I'm going ot Tesco's and I'm going ot buy gifts for all on my husband's side of the family, brother/wife sister/hubsband aunties/uncle and cousins etc. And when I get to the till I won't be handing over any money. Thank you so much Tesco's for being such a good sport and helping me out. I have also decided that I shall save these coupons all next year and do my whole christmas shop for "FREE" or buy gifts as the vouchers come in throughout the year if I see something to buy with them and save it until christmas. Just had to share this fact with you.... hope you aren't jealous of me. Anne18

I think thats great news! It shows that Tesco cares about its customers, which is something that I wish I saw more of! Its a wonderful resource since its been so tough out there right now. I bet it also relieves you to know that you can get some great things for the people that you love and it doesnt have to hit your wallet as hard. I know I am not jealous one bit. I am happy for you!

That would sure be nice. I don't know of any store here that has such a program. I don't usually save coupons. I used to but I usually forget to use them. I used to get some specials when I had credit cards but I don't use them anymore. You must live in a idealic place.

You must be doing a lot of shopping there for you to be able to do your christmas shopping from your statement vouchers! That reminds me...I subscribe to the moneysavingexpert site, and they had info on how to check back on if there were any of these vouchers due to you that had gone astray...so if there were any you didn't have or had lost, you could see if any were outstanding and reclaim them! worth checking out for your planned shopping spree!

Yep,it's the thought that counts with gifts...so long as somebody's not expecting the latest all singing and dancing game system and gets socks instead!

Talking of socks, years ago socks were classed as a boring gift without much thought put into it, now it has all changed around as you can now get so many novelty and jazzy socks they have turned into a fun gift, and people always need socks

No I don't spend too much money in Tesco's... I never spend over £70, most weeks about £50 and thats for the five of us, I'm just a very careful shopper. The only things I don't buy in the supermarket are crisps (as they are cheaper in the pound shop so go and bulk buy every six weeks, but we only eat about 6 bags of crisps a week in our house) Kitchen rolls, as they are cheaper in the cheap shop down town. Everyelse comes from Tesco's. We only buy token gifts of a few pounds for each other due again to lack of money and its the though that counts not the price

Wow, that is really awesome :-) Gotta luvit when companies give you free stuff and rewards points. I know I earned $40 free loyality dollars in Melaleuca (I actually earned more than that but spent some of it earlier this year) and so I got $40 worth of free stuff for Christmas shopping. I also am a member of Air Miles Canada and I can get probably $80 worth of grocery vouchers right now if I wanted to. I just joined Listia and i'll be saving up points for there, and there's also a coupla free rewards sites that actually pays to paypal. Yeap, as I said, gotta luv da free stuff!

Well done on you getting some reward points, it all helps, normally we spend ours on food that we wouldn't normally buy or a nice bottle of brandy or Bailey's. Wow you seem to have it all well sorted out, well done

Way to go! That's awesome. I usually save gift cards through the year to use at Christmas. Most of them I "earn" by doing various rewards programs. It's a good feeling to be able to buy things without worrying about how to pay for them.

Congratulations!!!! I don't know what this is, but I am guessing Tesco is a grocery store where you get tokens for spending so much money there and these tokens can be use to purchase gifts? Regardless, I think that is awesome, and again Congrats...

No, I have never been jealous of anyone in my life. I feel happiness for you and hope that you have a good time shopping. You certainly buy for a lot of people though. My list is very small this year. Basically just the grands and extra small gifts for my children. Oh and a few other children as well. I will take food to the 2 children's homes that we help to support. The children are both mentally and physically retarded. That is about it. But my tree us up - the earliest it has ever been up - and my Christmas cakes/puddings are baked so I feel a bit organised

Congratulations and tribulations how happy we could be If we had went to Tesco too and could have Christmas free, For now and ever more. It wouldn't be a chore. Unfortunately though we go to Asda To be cheaper than the other three they will guarantee By 10% if you go online and price match so freely They will give a further fiver if you spend over forty To it they claim there is no catch and don't be naughty Although I take liberties to make it work I invite all to improve it and not to shirk I've given it a try as it is Christmas and I'm in pantomime mood, I do wish you good shopping and hope you have a great time.

Thanks for missing my verbal useless chat!!! Getting ok with this discussion and should be way up todate on the comments as spend lots of time on here today, too much really, but there you go. I think I shall always stick with Tesco's as in the end I don't think there is much diffeeence in the big stores. If butters cheap this week in Tesco's then it will be cheaper in Sainbury's next week so overall I don't think we miss out, its as long as its round, you know what I'm saying
@Anne18 (11029)
11 Dec 11
I have tried Asda but haven't found it any cheaper than Tesco's!! Must be buying the wrong things!!!!LOL Love your panto mood, and thank you for checking that I was ok by pm, Sometimes I do shop on line, have accounts for Tesco's and Asda. Tesco is nearer but Asda bit far to go. Morrisisons have opened about 20 miles away so may go and have a look there

Morrisons fine but watch the price of toiletries and household cleaning items as they are a bit over the top, otherwise look online at my supermarket to check prices. I haven't been all the way through yet so do not know how much you have commented on but you've really got a job here. Yes we do miss you when your not around.

Anne, what did I tell you. Remember what you told me, "Nothing like that is going to happen to me this year, and I won't be able to get anything for myself because I have to buy things for everyone else." Well, guess what my friend, this is what I like to call "luck". Good things happen to those who give, and don't think that they will get anything in return. You wanted to get gifts for everyone else, and you didn't think that you would get anything for you. Well, now you have the money to get gifts for everyone else, and you might have some left for yourself. I am not jealous, I am happy for you, this is what you wanted, is it not? Well, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Never say never, and remember that something good can always happen. Also, remember that you never know.

Dpent all my money tokens on everyone else, My gift will be seeing the children's faces on christmas day and seeing them being happy. And a hug and a kiss from hubby and a I love you. Never say never!!!!!!

So lucky, lucky you dear! I am not envious but rather happy for you! What can I say but "Enjoy your shopping and hope you have lots of fun." I have no idea what that Tesco is all about but I have ideas about free coupons and vouchers. I know how it feels to shop for free. It is really something to delight about. Again, "Have fun and Congratulations!"

That has the potential to make people jealous...but...since it's you... I used to get points for shopping at a grocery store here and they printed out "gas dollars." I remember being able to fill up the tank with those dollars. It really helped me out a lot and I loved it..lol. I wouldn't mind a free shopping trip though either.

From someone who hasn't completed all my Christmas shopping yet, yes! I am jealous. How I would like to shop and without spending anything. Unfortunately, Tesco is not here where I live, and I don't think there is any program similar here. So, my Christmas shopping will still have to come out of my own pocket.
