When I was in UK, England, I heard that unemployed people get paid by the government. They are paid weekly around 40 pounds. What about in your country, are unemployed people paid as well? In my country, no unemployed people are given payment. So, they have to struggle hard to find a job to keep on living. It's nice to hear from you about it.

In my country, you cannot expect any assistance from the government if ever you are unemployed. You need to look for another job otherwise you are depriving your self of the means to a decent life. People in UK and the US are very lucky. If they are unemployed, they receive assistance from their government. In our countries, you need to work since the government cannot afford to provide any assistance or support.

In USA, the unemployed people get payment because they used to work, while in UK, all unemployed people (as long as they have been registered at the Social Department) will recieve unemployment benefit. In your country? It's the same as in Indonesia, they have to put their nose to the grindstone to keep on living.

That is right. If you don't work then you don't eat. This is why there are a lot of people who are starving and deprived of the basic needs in life. That is what we call survival.

Same situation in this country where I work in. But a little bit different in terms of arrangement. All companies are oblige to hired local employee in return that the company can fully functioned an organised there system. But the locals employed are not actually working, their just writing their names in and out but no work at all. After they log-in they all go home and sleep and do whatever they want. It's unfair though. But what can we do it's their country anyway.

We have employment insurance here in Canada. It's not free, you pay into it the entire time you work from every single paycheque, and it's not a choice, you have to pay into it. So, if find yourself unemployed, yes, you do get money. It's not as much as when you were working, I think it's 55% of what you were making and you have to show that you just didn't quit your job or get fired. In that case you don't get it. If, through no fault of your own, you have no job, the government will pay for a certain amount of time. It's a maximum of 50 weeks you can collect it.

The situation is more or less the same as in USA, isn't it. It IS your money that you get during unemployment period. It's a lot better. What about pension scheme? Do you get it permenently?

That is rather true. Here in Australia you get paid by the government if you dont work. That is why we have asylum camps that stop fake refugees from flooding australia and taking benefits which our government gives. However I know that most refugees are real so we have this big debate going on now.

The system is more or less the same as in UK. What is the percentage of unemployment benefit to the payment one gets from a regular work.? In Indonesia pensioners get 80% of their basic salaries. It still depends on how long you worked.

I live in the United States and unemployed people can get money here. I am not sure how much, but its a percentage of what they earned at their last job. There is a limit to how many weeks they are entitled to receive this before they must find a job. It can be a help if you lose your job.

I see. I thought they would get it for the rest of their lives. Apparently, they are paid because they worked before. If they didn't work at all, would they be paid? Thank for this valuable information.

You are right, if unemployed people (who never worked before) get paid, while they do nothing at all, this will make them lazy to work because they think they will get paid for doing nothing. In the UK, unemployment benefit is given to those who are still trying to get a job. And they will get it if they apply for it at Social Department.

In my country it is possible to get money from the government when you are unemployed. In exchange for the money that they get most unemployed people have to work. They don't get a "real" job, because they don't get money from their employers, they get money from the government. The employer get a extra employee who work without a salary. That is an advantage for the employer but not for the employee. There is a difference between the amount of money that you get from the government and the money that you get from a real job, because the money from the government is a pretty small amount of money (less than the minimum salary) It is not easy to live from the money from the government if you are used to a real salary, but it is possible if you live in a small rented room or apartment and only buy cheap food. The only people who don't have to work in exchange for the money that they receive from the government are people who are ill. It is hard to survive if you only get the money from the government and some people have to move to a smaller place or sell things that they own, but I am still happy it is possible to get money from the government when you lose your job, and a small amount of money is better than no money at all.

Thank for the info,it's very comprehensive. Denmark is a rich country, I think. Unemployed people should not be worried. They still get something from the government although it is small.

Social security means that if you work you pay tax (all kind of tax). One of them is for the time you might get sick or loose your job. If so you will get payed a part of what you earned before. It depends on how long you worked how long you get this money. If you never worked you can get social help. How much this will be and if you will get it depends on your age, situation etc. In my city even homeless people get money. They only need a (post)address. If they don't have it the city will give them one. How much the amount of money payed is I don't know.

You are absolutely right. That's what I heard. And those who never worked will get social help in terms of financial support, right? And how much they get depends on the age, this means the older they are, the higher the pay is?

I think the money given to the unemployed people comes from unemployment tax charged to those who work. But unemployed people have to apply in order to be paid. They go to Social Department that deals with unemployment benefit.

Without involving in any program or schemes launching by the Government, Indian citizen can not get paid for a penny by the Government. People are lucky, who are getting paid during unemployment by their Government.

As for me here, my government don't pay unemployed people, too. Everyone of us here, need to find our own job, to earn a living. That's why, it is better to keep the job that we have, since it is not easy to find job nowadays. People living in UK is lucky, since they can still survive although they are not working. I think they should make good use of the money that they are receiving from the government. It is a pity that i read from online news that some people who are receiving the money had spend it unwisely on other unwanted things.
