How far is the most you've moved?

January 20, 2012 4:05pm CST
I am going to be moving soon, 11 miles away from where I live now (Taunton) to Ilminster. Still in Somerset though. What is the furthest you have moved? I was born in Taunton but when I was two I moved to Yeovil and then back to Taunton when I was eight and have been here ever since.

Oh gosh..I have moved quite a bit but I always came back to my home state. I guess the furthest I move was 3 or 4 hundred miles away. I never moved when I was young but when I got old enough to go..I really went..lol.

I bought my cottage in 1991 and sold it in 2005. It was situated in a village three miles south of Canterbury in Kent. In 2005 I moved to North Somerset, 20 miles south of Bristol. I am not sure how many miles are between Weston-super-Mare and Bridge near Canterbury.

Let's see. Technically, I was born in the city of Los Angeles. Then when I was 2 years old, we moved to this town . . . which is still within Los Angeles county - but about a half hour away from the city. I lived there until I moved in with my boyfriend - but that was only 5 minutes away from parents - ha ha. And then after we got married and had a kid, we moved not even a minute away from there (the next street). And our next move which was last year, we moved only a second away (same complex, different number - ha ha). So really, I haven't moved very far - ha ha!

I couldn't find the same kind of flat for the same money so I am moving a little further than I'd like but my Dad lives just a few hundred metres from where I will be living so that's good.

In November of 2008, I decided that I was ready for a change, so I moved. I left all of my family and friends and moved 350 miles away with my son. He and I still live here and my daughter came to stay for about 2 years, but she didn't like it here. I love the area, but there are no jobs and I really hate the current job I have. I recently posted a discussion about moving to Alaska. I would love to move there and it is over 4000 miles from where I am now. So we'll see if that ever happens. Good luck on your move.

I live in Italy. I almost never traveled abroad, only recently at Easter last year, I went to Seville, Spain. But if I talk about my journey as far I have done, I have to go with the memory of the distant 2003. That summer, I went to Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), about 8500 kilometers!

So far, I have only moved once when my family moved from one house to another. They were less than 10 miles apart -- maybe 5. When I move out and settle down, I'm planning on moving to Oregon. I don't know the exact distance, but it would be me moving from New York (east coast) to Oregon on the west coast. Pretty nervous about that

I've washed up on a lot of different beaches. I went from southern Ontario to southern California for college and been moving ever since. After college I went back to southern Ontario. Then I met as French Canadian girl moved to Quebec and got married. Later we moved back to southern Ontario. That didn't work out as planned so we moved to Northern Ontario and then to Eastern Ontario. Now we live in New Brunswick. I'm a little tired of moving.
