Some people worship idols and animals, when we talk about God they used to say: we don't worship idols or animals but we worship the god within, Why don't they call things by its name? they are idolaters and they practice idolatry, so which god they are talking about? I'm not against them worship whatever they want, but I think that they need to stop fooling themselves, and they they should call things by its real names. What is your thoughts on this?

I think if people are worshipping someone (idol, artist, singer, god) they need something to hold on to believe in. Why god is more save or better to believe in and a leprechaun beats me. Fact is many people need something to hold on. It's fine with me, I can respect that. What I don't understand is why all these believers make a fool out of those who don't believe. Why respect, love and not being jealous is far away of them. I can't answer your question of which god they are speaking since there seem to be many gods, as much as there are religions. I agree with you that if you believe in a god this is worshipping to. No matter if you have a picture of your god or a jesus on the cross around your neck or just the cross.

Well I think that is just there own perspective and they are not intentionally fooling themselves. This is because most idol worshipers or even all idol worshipers see those idols as an intermediary between them and the supreme God. They believe that the supreme God is so great and can not be reached directly except through those lesser gods.

Ganesha - Image of Ganesha.
By your standards I am an idolater. You can use the term in a pejorative manner if you want but I am happy in my belief and find no shame in it. Animism has a long tradition and is the largest shared belief in this world. I personally have a patron god and keep an image of it in my home and office.

Every man needs something to believe in. This gives a sense in our life. But don't you think that we are free to choose this? Millions of people think that the Christian God is our creator. Millions of Muslims say that the only God is their Allah. But is this possible and who is the unique God after all? I think that we should respect everyone's faith. If I want to worship a stone because I see that it bears some force, so be it. This is my free will.

The only person that is fooling themselves is you. People can worship what they want and call it what they want. The same could be said about Christianity and it's worship of Jesus. From other religious point of views it appears that worship centers around Jesus. If one doesn't believe in Jesus he can call Christians idolaters. Same with Muslims and so on and so forth. They things you talk about are opinions and not fact. So please don't confuse them anymore and stop labeling people by what they believe in and what they chose to worship.

Every person has its own freedom whom they want to worship, either its animals or what.I think its not fooling themselves.Faith and worshiping something we think more powerful than us is useful. It will help us become a better person. Some motivate us to be better coz we believe there is someone watching us above.so for me its not fooling oneself,

Hi Gordano, I feel that this is just a personal perspective and we are not to judge others. I think that people who expect some God to suddenly and personal intervene, and bring an end to the earth are fooling themselves, but they have a right to believe that. I only become concerned about a religion or belief when I see it bringing harm to others. We must stand up for those who suffer because of the religious faith of those around them, otherwise people can believe what they like. Life will still go on just as it always has. Blessings.

Hello, Gordano. I am happy to know that you "see" things for what they really are. It will be diffiCULT to sway you. JK. Anyway... They only fool themselves like you said, and that is their own deception. They have been deceived by their own minds. It is sad, but it is all too often a reality. The catholic church worships god, their god, through pictures, yet they fool themselves into believing that it is ok. It is idoletry, and they need only to read the bible to see that this is bad. So, I hope YAHVAH blesses you with more wisdom. Have a great day.

calling thing by it real name is also a foolishness for the idol worshipers, don't u know they have names for all what they call their own gods. the most funniest part of it all is that all i know about our GOD is that he is our creator and we worship him for creating, guiding us for evil, providing for our needs but those idols was created or radar say build or construct by those that worship them, it's like if i build and airplane and name it and for me 2 wake up a day and started worshiping the works of my hand, for me to start calling it my god, ain't it funny and foolish? GOD create them, they create their own idol, from trees that GOD create, from mud which is the work of the most high god.
