Very frugal! That would work for a week, but you'd have to be careful if you want to use this plan long term because you may not get all the vitamins and minerals you need. I couldn't get a week's worth of vegetables for $2.25! Oats and bananas are great, though, and I think I could do that here at certain times of the year for bananas. What kind of menus did you plan?

Yeah... of course if you were here (USA) you'd probably make more money, but you'd have to spend it. It seems to work that way.

cost of living there is so high, but if i leaved there and with my pleasing personality, thriftiness, strategic mind when it comes to saving and making money. i think i'll be rich there quicker than the average bear.

Is this for a day or week? I just cannot imagine you are spending this little on your food. I wish I could do the same but unfortunately, I spend alot more on food in a week. I think I need to get some serious tips from you on how to do it.

Hi there mashnn, This is for a week, in my situation my being frugal is correlated to my loosing weight so that i can hit two birds with one stone, this is very helpful since to loose weight i can only try to get what is important low fat staff that is cheap, oats and cereals, just veggies for lunch, and only meat dinners for the evening and some fruits. So its really convenient for me to do this. and in my country and were i leave things ar a lot cheaper mashhnnnn.

Great job and that is pretty frugal. I would have to remove the milk to get my bill lower, as its so high here that many people have stopped drinking it. Sadly, soda is cheaper, then milk now. I love bananas; however, now they are an occasional snack just to high here. Some of the lowest cost foods here are the ones my area grows like lemons and we have 1 in our yard and strawberries, which I grow in my back yard.

That is just nice you have your own produce, great atleast you dont have to buy that fruit, in my country we grow em apples and bananas whole year round that is why for the whole year we have em, ill try to add orange and pineapple as an immune system, it is cheaper that buying Vitamin C and high in fiber, tale care now.

Well with that budget i think you did pretty good but i hope that you are getting the protein and nutrients everyday that you should be getting. I think i could do that just for dinners but i couldnt do that with breakfasts and bringing my lunch to work as well. I try to do pretty good and two weeks ago i went and got a lot of buy one get one free items and right now i still have some of them in the pantry cubbard and im glad for that becasue we still dont need alot of food. The only things we need is about 15 dollars worth of meats for a week long which isnt bad at all.

wow! I wish I can do that. My everyday expenses is 20$ its minimum and sometimes the highest is going to 40$ ,that's my budget everyday. That's why its hard for me to save more money because my money is always out.

Dont worry basha i guess you just ned to make some tweeks on your lifestyle to gt to were am going, it is not for everybody. If you come to think about it how i eat is correlated to my diet which means i am not buying and eating the same normal stuff that people often do so it is really just that i am focusing on loosing weight tha is why my diet now is like that and costs is reflected because I eat less.

It is really good that you were able to come up with a budget for food for the week that will cost you less than $20. However, you really do need to mix it up some if you intend to stay on a really frugal food budget like this for a long period of time because you do want to make sure that you are getting all of the nutrients that you will need in your diet. You will need more grains in your diet for one. However, grains are something that are very inexpensive.

I can't believe my eyes! Meet dinners for less that a dollar? Where is this place of yours, I want to move there! I give a great part of my wage for food and, believe me, I pick only cheap vegetables and fruits and don't buy delicacies. There are rich and social oriented countries like Canada where some things are expensive but everyone can afford to buy food. I don't know the situation in your country but I see that you are a responsible person. Congratulations!

Hi! Wow that is amazing. You really budgeted and was able to save a lot. Plus you have a healthy meal with you but you lack protein in your diet. Yous should eat some meat or beans.

I really don't make a tight budget on food. I guess what's more important is you get all the vitamins you need than spending a little money on that. Buy foods that are healthy. I don't think I can live with that kind of diet. It's kinda hard for me. Good luck!

Yes man, good thinking! I never though that someone could spent for the food like this. The oat and milk are cheap yet to burn calories which is good for health. Banana is cheaper nowadays where you can get it anywhere in the stall. Veggies are the must for the daily routine and they are worth to eat.
