I swear on this one.... Find out where they are coming in and CALK the spot (Grouting or window calk doesn't matter just needs to be calk because it will last), This will keep them out until they find another gap elsewhere.... but it isn't harmful like a spray or poision and most don't have much odor. If you don't mind spraying outside I would spray the bottom of the walls at the ground after calking in the hole where they are getting in. If it is an apartment, calking should be good enough as there is less places they can come in. If you get a mess of um.... vaccuums kill them because they get suffocated. You can also use a strong hold hairspray to keep them still to sweep them up. (If you don't want to vaccuum them. We have used all these with success because we had a new house built in a field and we had big time ant problems.

Oh yes, and ants put scent trails down where they have been so others can easily follow.... clean it with vinegar because it's 100% safe and kills the scent trail.

You can buy a gel poison that works to kill ants. You put a drop of it on a piece of cardboard and put it anywhere ants are and they will come and eat it cause I guess it tastes sweet to them. i use it every year and it works perfect

I was thinking 5 pounds each was pretty big too so I guess its safe to say she was eating healthfully and being careful. I thought she was going to have the babies in Africa again but just found out today it was in Correns, France right along the Meditteranean. Sounds beautiful. I have been following their story ever since the two married and I cant help wondering how things will turn out now that they have this many children.

put the cob from field corn where you see the ants. You can get the corn from wal-mart for squrrils. This really works. I got this from My ex's grandmother. I didn't believe until I had to try it.

Ant Killer Recipe 1 teaspoon boric Acid (you can get this at Wal Mart) 6 tablespoons sugar 2 cups hot water (this water must be really hot) Mix ingredients and pour over cotton balls (cotton out of med's bottles works too) Put mixture in cottage cheese containers with lids and poke holes about 1/8 inch up from the bottom. Don't worry if you have more ants the first couple of days after third day ant problem should be gone. The recipe above also works by reaplcing the boric acid with bleach. You can also try windex, pledge with oprange peel. Fill a spray bottle (16 oz or so) with water and add a tablespoon of peppermint essential oil to it and spray away. Ants hate peppermint and there's none stronger than the essential oil. (doesn't work on fireants)

If I were you I would call an exterminator and have the house sprayed. I wouldn't worry about the chamicals being harmful, as they are generally safe, even if you have pets and small children close to the floor. Besides, carpenter ants can do a lot of damage to your house.

I know that if you want to keep spiders out of your house, you rub oil of cintranella around the door and window frames as they taste through their feet. I don't know if that would work with ants, but it may be worth trying. I know that the chemical things won't work.It seems that if ants have always made a particular path (in my case it was right through the middle of the house) they will stick to it. They even ate a hole in the brickwork so they could get through!
