The weather forecast was for certain rain Monday. So the black clouds gathered and then the sun came out. nice day all day. ditto for Tuesday cold but sunny. So today it again gathered all black clouds' nd the forecast you guessed it sunny all day It is now pouring cats and dogs. well not dogs, but the poor feral cats, about fifteen now are trying to find shelter out there. Weather forecasting or weather guessing? your take mylotters.

Ridiculous,It sounds .But there again, sometimes a storm may arise from a clear sky, especially April over here,It is a treacherous month for weather, so it is difficult for us to request weathermane's predictions all come true. However if It will rain, they say it is sunny, how much business will be spoiled by the rain?

hi chang yes when I was young I was living in South Dakota here in the US. And one time we went to a neighboring town to a movie the sun wes shinning and a perfect day. when we came out it was pouring down rain even with that clear skies and sunshine. a regular cloud burst.I guess weather forecasting is s till not'an exact science.

Yes,I reckon whether weather forecasting is exact or not depends on advances in other sciences.

Nowadays it is looks more like wheather guessing at all. No matter in which country you live in. Those people who do wheather forecasting are makeing mistakes all the time. But better explanation is maybe that weather now is hard to predict, due to global warming effect. On wheather we can see huge changes which are happenning with our climat.

hi "Ernnesto yes I think you ha ve a point. Southern California usually has mild weather even in winter but this year from Dec right on til now February the mornings have been down to almost freezing which is unusual for our state. and some days the highs have not got above 50 or 55 which again is cooler than usual.I for one am looking forward to April and spring and warmer weather here.

Yes, it does seem to be like weather-guessing quite often when I listen to the weather forecast. The long-range forecasts seems to more the most inaccurate. Last year for instance, we supposed to have had a very hot summer here in the U.K but it was very cool with plenty of rain! _Derek

hi derek last summer it was predicted that July would be hotter than usual but came July it was pleasant and warm but no really hot days. August started out that way to and it was this time]predicted we would have an unusually cool month.wrong again as it got into the nineties then one hundred and stayed there most of the month. same with September instead of cooler it was in then nineties again.then October came predicted more hot weather, the whole month was unseasonably cold for Southern California.so long range weather forecasting was just a guessing game

It's easy to guess what's gonna happen in terms of weather. Cloudy skies are signs of heavy rain that'll pour down today. Few weather forecasters miscalculate their predictions.

hi yangalong wow you already have a thousand points so good going yes most of the time they are fairly right but it would help if they were just a bit more accuare all the time. but I have learned that deep black skies ushet in rain quickly so 'am prepared by that.

Which do you trust more, dark skies or forecasters? When it gets very dark in the sky, I usually get necessary stuffs ready in the trunk of my motorbike. Just to be on the safe side.

Hello Hatley, We normally look out on the sky and predict whether it's gonna rain or not. Coz there were times the forecasters are really wrong about their forecast I usually bring my umbrella with me whenever I leave the house, but that is when I have a bag to put my umbrella in.

when i was in Lijiang for travel, the tour guide told us never listen to the weather forecast.because,no one knows when it's gonna rain and when it's stop. we have to be taking an unbrella when we are out,but some said, the rain is not like cats and dogs ,and it feel cool caught in the rain when summer time,so some locals don't take unbrellas..

hi leocan here in California I have seen days when it was predicted sunny and very mild then wham a few black clouds]and I walked out of a store and got drenched. It w as a cloud burst seemingly centered over Larwin Square. In two hours the storm stopped just like that and the sun was blazing down and it was'hot and steamy. go figure the weather forecast had not predicted any rain at all. And during that rain it felt like freezing as I headed for the doughnut shop. I was shivering and drenched. I ordered a large coffee and a bears claw.Instead she gave me a huge cup of coffee with that delicious bears claw pastry. She never charged me more than just a large coffee.that hot coffee really'took the chill off of me.

Hi GardenGerty you are so right and I am sure they do get paid quite well too. The rain poured but it did not last very long then it was colder than ever .all week its been colder than usual for this month in Southern California. I had the feeling if it got just a little colder it would snow.lol

hi Elicbxn its s till raining but quietly now and I think thats the rain that really soaks in . I just hope those feral kittens and cats out there find shelter.A Group to help feral cats was supposed to come and find them homes. But they have yet to show up.These are cats and kittens that someone owned then decided they did not want them. several purebred cats in the mix.I saw two siamese and one maltese and several tabby cats in the mix.

hi again ElicBxn you know we residents are told not to touch those cats but somone should rescue them as they are all so cute and so hungry and so homeless. A pox on whoever abandoned all of them.ONe resident attempted to catch one and really got clawed badly so now we are told to stay away.As a cat lover and animal lover, it hurts to see them out here looking for food. I think the Vietnamese who own the store next to us do give them left over fish hand outs. but they seen so thin and hungry to me. su ch a same.

I am not so surprised to hear that. This morning when I brought my son to school and I told him I didn't know how the weather would be in the weekend. Since we will go to ride the bike as the outdoor activity in the weekend. I tell him that the weather forcast said that weather would be colder and bad in the weekend. My son told me not to believe it:) The weather forcast is not correct most of the time in my opinion. I love China

hi youless you are so right. I looked for this storm on Monday as it said 80 percent chance of rain so the sun shone all day. so when it clouded up today and the forecast said sunny i just thought the sun will be out shortly but no it got blacker and blacker then]oit was pouring. So one never really knows fpr sure.

Meterologists are wrong all the time! I guess it's not a perfect science. Which is too bad. No one said it was going to snow, here in Minnesota, today (they predicted it Monday at 12, lo and behold, we didn't see any snow that day at all), and here it is snowing outside! Gah! I mean, I guess no one is perfect...

hi maezee yes they do make a lot of errors b ut we can sort of]predict by the looks of t he sky if its a certainty it is going to rain. then I just dress accordingly. The storm] has left tonight and seemed moving down towards the Pacific Ocean. We got some rain for awhile but it was soon done with

dear Hatley, February should be a start of summer here in out country. The weather should be a little humid and hot- but mind it- it's raining when you least expect it to happen. The morning starts with a bright sun, then suddenly rain starts pouring and you are caught in the middle of the road without anything to protect you from getting wet. Actually my daughter just texted me telling she can't go home by now- because it's raining so hard and she don't have an umbrella with her :x. It's hard to guess if it is going to rain without those black clouds. Have a good day ma'm

I do think that here in the UK they seem to get the weather wrong lots of times, I gave up listening to the weather and just look out of the window, as my guess is better than theres, lol.I use to listen to the weather all the time, but after them getting it wrong nearly all week a few months ago, I gave up.

It is mostly just educated guesses when it comes to forecasting weather. People base it all on a rather imprecise science that doesn't include sudden changes in wind currents and slight shifts in the earth. Accuracy varies too, but for the most part there is always a margin for error. Can also be that they didn't check their equipment properly and may have made a technical flub. Still... I forget the approximate accuracy percentage but it can be wrong. They can't predict the future. XD

hi shinDarkfox yes it really is then too it has never been an exact science but sometimes they get pretty close. but again I can see when it going to rain with my own eyes, nose and some common sense too. lol also when the black clouds blot out all sun and the wind starts really blowing I think it has a huge probability] of rainl lol

I have always thought how amazing it is that thw weather forecasters can predict the weather at all, its like they understand mother nature and I personally think mother nayure is too clever for that, but I have noticed they are predicting more and more days in advance thede days, even though not always accurate but they do get it most times I think.

hi lilaclady yes it is true and some places do get it right most of the time., but this week it was all screwed up. but we do need the rain so our forests will be greener this fall and not so likely to burn unless we get arsoists again.

hi sassybrat yes I hate that,we were supposed to have a group that saved feral cats come and get tthem homes but so far nobody'has helped any of them. the owners here do not want us feeding them. I feel helpless and wonder where they did find shelter. why do people buy pets then get tired ofd their ca or kitten and just dump it? wrong so wrong. At least the rain fin ally has come and it is really doing a great jor.lol

yes, i did experienced that. and it's a big hassle when sometimes you dressed your self a thick coat for the rain, but moments later, it became so sunny and hot. some weather forecast can go so wrong. even now that people can control the weather. so we don't know if someone is messing up with our weather. the weather control device is called HAARP. you research about this. and you'll find out the good thing and the bad thing about this weather control device.
