And all the words hit home.....when you come home they just go crazy! They never complain about where they live or your cooking and it doesn't cost a thing to take them out! LOL....have you heard this song? Don't you just love the words? There is a reason that dogs are man's best friend!

Hi jill, Well, I don't have any dogs anymore and I didn't hear this song, but, I understand where you're coming from. When my kids were little we had 2 dogs (a Gordon Setter and a St. Bernard) and I have to say they are the most loyal animals around. All they want is your love, period. They were always there when you needed someone to talk to, and even looked at you like they understood. They protected the house and you always felt safe. I brought up my kids by myself and it was very comforting to know they they loved us as much as we loved them. Yes, dogs are man's best friend and always will be.

So true! Mine is gone and sometimes I miss having one but my son has two and one comes and stays with me once in a while....that's nice! She even sleeps with me when she is here.

Awwww, that so sweet! I'll have to talk my daughter into getting a little one so I could snuggle with it sometimes too, haha! My other daughter has a bull terrier who IS as strong as a bull. She'd probably boot me off the bed just by turning over, lol!

Number one, Jillhill, I am a huge fan of Country--possibly because so many of the words are truly relevant! Yes, I love this song..and I could add another kazillion pluses to the unrelenting love of your dog! Just last nite, as I was late getting home (believe it or not, from work)..if it would have been EX or another family member...a whole lot of explaining would have been necessary...but my dog, Brui...was absolutely delighted that I was home! No complaining, supper is late..or what's on the plate...just happy to cuddle up and make it a joyful home-coming! I am exceedingly tired these days, as my hours are long, moody, tired...and the one thing I can count on..his love!

When it find its place in a song suggests its importance in country life as well. Though I have not heard this song I love to listen to them. Have you listened to Don Williams? I love his "senorita....passing by.....

AH...the soft, dulcet tones of Don Williams, another GREAT Country crooner...truly, I can say, I don't think the man ever had a bad song! His name nemesis Hank Williams has an age old song; "It's Such A Pretty World Today,"...of which I find on the internet, and play...whenever I am having a cloudy day..LOL!

my dog - Dogs are more faithful than men.
Hi jillhill, Yes, I love dogs. All sort of dogs but they have to be friendly. And interestingly dogs love me too. You just give a little indulgence and they are your friends. The dog that I am having now is a local bred. But he is too alert about the strangers. But the moment I step in home it would come just wagging its tail as if I bought some gift to it.

Though I've only heard the song a few times, it is a song that I really like because of the fact that it seems to be so true. Now, I'm lucky to have a husband that loves me regardless of what I do, but there have been times in our marriage that have been very trying and it is those times that I do think about when I hear that song. I really laugh at the line that says he doesn't get mad when you call his sister a b*tch.

I have heard it, and it is so True. Dogs do go crazy when their owners are home. I know that I would be lost without our dog, and anyone who says they are not a part of their family needs to open up their heart a little more or not own one. Dogs are truly a man's Best friend.

I haven't heard it but it makes a ton of sense. I think that if we were loved by people that same way our dogs care for us, we would all be a lot happier and fulfilled. I'll have to look up this song and get my b/f to learn it. He loves country music and plays it all the time. He might actually have heard it.

Well jillhill, I have not heard this song, but we have songs that praise dogs because of their honesty and sincerity, if you have given a piece of bread to a dog, it will swing its tail on seeing you, but this is not true for human beings, most are ungrateful.

Yes, I have. There is much to learn about and from the canine! They are the only species that we know of that domesticated themselves. They are a pack by instinct and we humans are part of that pack. They associate us with food, not as food and we are automatically the alpha when they live in our home. Where your dog lays or stands while with the "pack" tells us much about our place within it. Our dog Molly has a huge bark and gets hyper when someone else comes to our door. The other day my sister came in the front door. Molly immediately made a circle around her as stood right by the door. Molly walked around, between my sister and the door, saying you are now part of our pack, please come in! BARK BARK BARK.
