Yeah, they seem to sound really scary always threatening that something bad will happen- you die, loved ones die.. if we do not pass it or something.. I wonder who makes these scary chain letters- and also those people who actually believe in them and post them everywhere.

I don't know why some people believed in this nonsense. No one is his right mind would sent chain letters to his/her friends with a threat, that something will happen if they don't follow what had been told in the letters. No one can predict what's in the future, even for not following what is said in the letter. I just delete them whenever I received one.

I really don't think we want to know who writes these scarey chain letters. Would a real friend write you and tell you something terrible could happen if you don't do as they say? And then also tell you to pass it on!

Even the nice ones I don't like! Send this to all your friends you care about and back to who sent it to you.. or else.. Hate 'em! I did 'share' /pass one along on facebook lately about prayer.. but even that had that sort of "or else" in it!! I think we're fools for paying any attention to them at all!

It's usually about prayer and God, so I always tell myself that God wouldn't get mad just because you wouldn't/couldn't forward something like this and how will it make Him happy? Sometimes, I get irritated and want to really give the sender a piece of my mind but I stop myself before I get there.

I have a dear friend and long time classmate who religiously keep sending me chain letter. Almost everyday she is sending me emails of chain letter, prayers and wishes etc. What I do is just delete those emails. One thing I really hate is...when a friend tag photos in facebook photos that are nonsense

Same here. I so hate those kinds of emails, text messages, letters, and all that. I used to do chain letters back in high school but they got so tiring and ridiculous that I eventually stopped participating in it. I hated it. And when there was a boom in texting, I was always wary of those chain texts. They just seem ridiculous. Chain emails, I don't read them at all, I delete them immediately. There's just no truth in it. It's just some people or company making money out of you. But there's one chain texts that I really loved and forwarded to everyone. It said "pass this to (ridiculous number like 1,890) of your friends or else, your butt hole will close".

I really hate chain letters. What makes them worse is when they involve God in them. Sometimes they will insist that if you do not send this chain letter out to 10 people then you don't love God. You are ashamed of God. And the last person who did not send this to 10 people lost his job and his marriage fell apart. I just hate it!

I also hate it. Actually when the mobile phones are not yet circulating during 90's then I have no idea what chain letter is? I don't have any idea how does it works or where it is coming from. Not until when the mobile phones circulated then people tend to send text messages that they need to pass it with 15 people or else they won't be lucky. They don't even realize that it just a trick came from the network in order for them to earn more.

I don't really understand chain letters. Personally, I never respond to them and I don't think that anything bad has happened to me as a result of not forwarding them. Then again, maybe I am missing out on a lot of goodluck because I ignore them. I don't know who believes in chain letters, but some people must or there wouldn't be so many of them.

I also can't stand chain letters but they already exist since 40 years or longer. At that time they were real letter. You had to copy them by hand and give them to others. Ofcourse the luck never showed up nor the good news at a certain time. What is bothering me most is the fact someone (by that letter) is trying to manipulate and scare others (bad luck etc). I think that is a bad thing. i also don't understand what is the fun about that (since you can't see that person). Lately I go a kind of chain letter but it was about sending one recipe to 1 email address so not really the way chain letters usually work. But no respons (or 36 recipes) came to my mailbox (pity since I like recipes). An other one I got lately was about "sisters". It was a nice text, makes one thinking but spoiled by the message that you have to send this letter to ... people and then (ofcourse) next day at 11.05 am you get the good news. I forwarded this one to some of my friends because of the good text, the knowing you will never stand alone since every woman can be your sister and there is always someone to share your feelings/problems with.

I really hate such letters, too. I use to delete it immediately after I find it in my inbox. But I saw once, one of my friend on facebook sent something like this, that if you do not send this email, something bad happen to you and one gay, he is not in my friendlist wrote her a massage like response so everybody could see it. In the massage there where written really tough words about behaviour of her why is she sending such letter in really unpolite way but not with stupid words. It seemed to me really useful way how to show people that such chain letter could be really makeing angry.

hi lady I am also a hater of chain letters and have a childhood chum whom I love dearly but she has this thing where she sends me all these chain letters and other things asking you to keep it going or this or that will happen. I wish I knew how to suggest no more chain letters without upsetting our newly found friendship.I mean she and i were grade school best friends and we are both 85 so it means a lot to me. But I dislike in fact loathe chain letters My best friend here also sends me a few but not too bad. but my childhood chum floods my box with them.

I also do! And I never really believe them. Whenever I receive chain letters online or offline, I'd just throw them in the trash. It is such a stupid thing to ever think that joining in that chain letter would bring you bad luck while not joining or cutting the chain would bring you bad luck. How senseless and stupid! If one believes this I would say he is not wise.

Me, too, I hate chain letters and I am wondering who initiated or invented this nasty communication?Because there's nothing worthy in there, threatening you that something bad will happen if you won't recycle it and worst some of those letters asked you to write 100 copies, oh Gosh! Now, here's a new trend, maybe a high tech trend of spreading a chain letter this time through a text message. I am kinda pissed off because I would receive several messages in a day with this kind of text.

I hate them too... I keep reading them, always thinking that maybe this one will be different... and there are really nice and beautiful ones, with good pictures and quotations. Then I get to the end, and I read again that if I don't forward the chain letter to X people I will die, or even if I don't, nothing good will happen to me ever. It ruins my day! Of course I don't forward them because I don't want anyone to get this feeling when I get to the end!
