Just had to share with you all how awful gum is, espically when you step on some and it sticks to your shoes!! I was walking down our high street this morning while doing some shopping for a client I clean for and some awful person had spat there gum out on the path, I didn't see it and trod on it! Took ages to scrap it off my shoe, I was best not pleased as I had to take my shoes off when I returned to my clients house so I didn't put stickiness on the carpet.... carpet in this house not good so didn't really want ot walk around in my socks, but didn't really have a choice. What do you hate about gum? Please share with us fellow mylotters

I enjoy chewing gum, but not when it has been spit out. People do not seem to realize that they should save the wrapper and wrap it up to dispose of it. I hate littering of any kind.

I buy "Extra" gum, it does not stick to my dental work and seems very pliable. I cannot think of the name of the flavor, it is a wintergreen flavor with exploding crystals.

I'm not a gum person, but I have heard of that one. I was never allowed gum as a girl but then they brought out sugar free ordit and was allowed it then, but I never really got into gum. I remember loving the taste of that lovely pink bubble gum!

I think gum is a rather gross addiction. I confess, though, that I do like the little tins that it is sometimes sold in. The same goes for mints. Sometimes I buy them just for the tins.

The tins can be very pretty and useful as well... for putting your used gum in as well

I hate gum when it gets stuck on my lip. And I dislike it when the flavor goes. And when I accidentally swallow it. Yuk!

Oh..that makes me mad too. It can take forever to get that nasty gum off the bottom of your shoe...you sure don't want to touch it either I don't like it when I see people play with it with their hands. I have seen people stretch it out of their mouths and then put it back in and start to chew They twirl it and everything. I think its gross when they slap chew it too.

The kids used to eat gum at home or in the car. But after scraping off gum from the couch, and the seats in the car, and once in a pocket, I've since then banned gum inside the house or in the car. They can have gum when they're outside, but they have to spit it out before coming in. I hate scraping it too!

Thank you! Someone who took the words right out of my mouth. Yes, GUM is nasty, disgusting, and it sticks to everything. Also, good luck getting it out of your hair and good luck getting it out of just about anything once it is there. I had gum stuck in my hair twice, and one out of two of those time, my hair had to be cut because of it. The blonde kid who did it to me moved away in the middle of Kindergarten, and I was so happy when she moved away because I would never have to see her chew gum and get it into my hair ever again. My mother never gave it to my brother and me, and we personally don't feel like we missed out. Also, my brother had Type 1 Diabetes when he turned 12 and he wouldn't of been able to have it anyway. My mother never gave us gum because she had to take care of children who chewed gum and got it everywhere and she made a solemn vow never to give it to my brother and me. When someone finally did give it to us when we got older, we didn't like it. Again, we couldn't see what the appeal was? I don't like gum, I don't like chewing gum, and I will never give my children gum.

I hate that sooo many people chew it and don't throw it in a wastebasket. Makes you wonder if they have no IQ points or if their laziness quotient is "out of bounds" meaning off the charts for what you even think lazy is. I hate that it used to be all natural from trees and now the ingredients, sometimes you need a chemist to read it. People used to collect the gum in our Adirondack Mountains. Someone discovered chickle and all those people went out of work.

Sometimes when I find an aluminum can and there is gum stuck to the top of the can! That is so gross! Sometimes when tables,in the dining room, are moved dried gum is found under the tables! Now that is really gross!

Hi Anne. I think the worst experience I ever had with gum was when my daughter went to sleep with it in her mouth, but woke up with it tangled in her long wavy hair. Now that was a mess. It took me a couple of hours to get it out, but peanut butter finally did the trick. Hope I don't ever have to do that chore again.

Well it cost millions of £'s every year to remove those things from the pavements. It's sticky and really hard to remove. I remember one time when it had happened to me I had had to frozen my shoe to remove it. Maybe odd idea but it always work.

Aww, I hate it too. The worst is that some chewers always find the "best" place to put the gum. I always watch where I sit, but when once I forgot it, I sat in a gum. At school when I put my books in the desk under the table, it often got stuck in chewing gum. It's possible to remove gum from clothes once they are frozen, but we can't put anything in the freezer

That is really disgusting. I hate gums when it is scattered on the streets or spat on chairs. They mess up everything everywhere and even to our personal stuffs. Spatting gums everywhere is not healthy because these can spread out diseases.

I suppose Singapore might be topping your list of countries to go to then . But yeah definitely, the equally worst thing for me I think is when I'm at a library or any other place with tables/chairs/desks, and my hand touches the bottom of it and touches something soft. I have a look and see it's a piece of old gum. Disgusting . If I chew gum, which I do from time to time, I make sure I have a piece of paper or a tissue with me before I dispose of it in a bin.

I do not hate gums, but I hate irresponsible people who throws their gums anywhere. People should not be allowed to eat/ use anything if they do not know how to dispose them properly.

They had such a problem with gum on the paths etc in a town about 15 miles from my town and they now have gum boards posted around the town, so when you want to get rid of your gum you just stick it on a gum board. Its very unslightly but its so much better there than on your shoe. I have never been into chewiing gum, I have found it always gives me a tummy ache.
