People tend to delay things

I really do not know why most people tend to delay things. Often times, they always says, "these things can be done tomorrow", "let us do this tomorrow", "we can do it tomorrow", "let just do it tomorrow", those phrases are the ones being heard from those people who tend to procrastinate. Hence, I cannot see any point why they tend to do it. Yet, are they not thinking, what if today is their last day, how come they can still do the thing tomorrow. What if the person where the promise will be given, will die tomorrow, hence, he/she cannot receive it anymore. Thus, we cannot control every situation, so it will be better to do our best today. Let us not pass this way and leave every bits of life for tomorrow. As we never know what will happen.

It is really a usual thing that people tend to do things with some delays. Probably it had not came to their mind how precious the time is and how unpredictable the future is. Of course, sometimes people are just too lazy to do what's on their hand right away. I myself experienced those feelings too. But I believe as long as we don't delay the important things and what we delay will not bring harm to people, it should be fine sometimes.

There are times when I also tend to procrstinate and tell myself that this or that can be done tomorrow. However, we should not dely things and get them done s soon s possible because as we keep on delaying it then we might not get it done at all. We should do whatever we have to complete on its scheduled time so that we don't hve to stress about it or worry regarding its completion in the future also...

I learned a lesson when I was young that I try to act on every day. Never leave off for tomorrow what can be done, or should be done, today.

So true! There is also a deeper meaning to not putting things of. Notice: Matthew 24:36-44 New Life Version (NLV) 36 But no one knows the day or the hour. No! Not even the angels in heaven know. The Son does not know. Only the Father knows. 37 “When the Son of Man comes, it will be the same as when Noah lived. 38 In the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking. They were marrying and being given in marriage. This kept on until the day Noah went into the large boat. 39 They did not know what was happening until the flood came and the water carried them all away. It will be like this when the Son of Man comes. 40 “Two men will be working in a field. One will be taken and the other will be left. 41 Two women will be grinding grain. One will be taken and the other will be left. 42 “Because of this, watch! You do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But understand this: If the owner of a house had known when the robber was coming, he would have watched. He would not have allowed his house to have been broken into. 44 You must be ready also. The Son of Man is coming at a time when you do not think He will come. So let us do each day what should be done and we will not have to worry about tomorrow for it will come!

I think it's part of human nature that we procrastinate. I'm not sure why that is, but we do. And I think we all do at one point or another. Like for example, right now I am procrastinating doing work (I am at work right now wasting time on MyLot - LOL). When I get home I will likely procrastinate doing the laundry that is surely piling up for me. I think it's plain laziness. We just have to work ourselves out of it, I think it takes a discipline to be motivated. Happy MyLotting!

I am so guilty of this thing we call procrastination and this gets me in a lot of trouble. Projects and requirements gets piled up because of my "I-can-do-it-later attitude." But as of the moment I am trying my best to take action right away. This discussion has reinforced my new conviction. Thanks.

For some people doing something is just too much, others are lazy, there are people who think/hope someone else will do the job (or they have the experiences someone else will if they don't do it or do it too slow), some need some time to find the courage to do it and others are not interested so they will do it as late as possible. Some people do things at once, to not to forget, to have the job done and have time for other things. It's my experience that people who do things at once are not popular at all. If you are that quickly/accurate you show others they are not.

I'm also being guilty of procrastinating. Then things will pile up and I got angry and frustrated for not getting it done while I have the chance. It's hard but I learnt to push myself to get the job done. I still procrastinate on something once in a while. Hopefully I can get over being lazy. It's not like someone going to clean up and do the job for me.

We live in a society of procrastination. What can I say, people say, why do today, what I can put off until tomorrow. But what is today, but yesterday's tomorrow. I do admit that I am one of those people who do spend a bit too much time on things that I shouldn't as opposed to doing things that I should, although I think that I am doing just completely better as time goes on. I was really bad during my high school days when I learned the lesson of why putting things off is not a good idea. Plus, if I don't want to do it today, chances are I'm not going to want to do it a week from now either and it will be something that builds up a great amount of dread in my time. So really might as well just really get it done today, that way I am not going to really have to worry about it the next day. We might as well do the things that we need to do, right away, because we are just going to have to do them eventually to begin with. So just do them now.

Yes, some people could indeed be like that. For me, it's a kind of little laziness on the part of the person. I am happy that i am not on of those people who have that habit. I always do my work at the soonest possible so that after that when i have no other works to do anymore, i can already relax.

procrastination is the worst thing which we do in our life. when i was young,i use to postpone my works always. i will never complete my studies on daily basis and suffer during my exams. then i learnt a lesson that tomorrow never comes and we should work today itself to get fruitful results. now i have changed and i will write what i want to do today and i try to complete almost everything on that day itself. i will never postpone my works because i know that i cant complete tomorrow too.

I can't do that. If I have something to do, I do it so that I can leave it behind.

I hate when my partner wait till the last minutes to finish the project. I think everybody should understand that there's no reason to wait until tomorrow what they can do today because time is an expensive investment that would never come back in life.

It happen to me. Whenever I wake up I always have a list to do things. But, at the end of the day I only finish one or two jobs from those list. It's not a good habit. It happen when I have a long time task. But, I never procrastinating anything when I have a short term task with close deadline.

Oh goodness! Yes I think we're all guilty of procrastination at some point or another. I have been guilty of leaving it for another day, even through losing family, friends and co-workers I have tried to do things somewhat quicker.
