Are you planning any home improvement projects this summer?

I AM!!! I want to totally re-decorate my kitchen. This is my goal. I want it to be cute, not out-dated the way it is right now. It is horrible. We have the worst wallpapering on the top of walls. We had this 'Mexican' type theme about 20 years ago and we still seem to have it. The walls' paint is kind of chipping, and I would just like to make it a little more CUTE and decorative if you know what I mean. I am thinking a darker beige color would be cool. I would also like to get new curtains for our windows, and other decorative items. It's probably going to be expensive and take a lot of work, but I think it would be worth it. Are you planning any big around-the-house projects this spring / summer?

It is always exciting to make home improvements but costly. I don't have plans of improvements yet because my house is newly built. But I still do have lots of improvements in mind. I just can't be contented. Nevertheless it would be very costly so I have to save some more money for it.

Hi maezee! I want to do something different with my house too. I have been thinking of some painting and moving some stuff around. I have the rest of this week before going back to work so I have been working on some of it here and there. One of my girls moved out last year and I am redoing her room. I kept it the same until a couple of days ago. I was actually hoping she would come home but although we are still very close, I don't think she will be. If she does, she can still have the room back, it will just look different.

We have been re-doing our upstairs bathroom and also building a deck in our back yard! We should have only done 1 project at a time but then when it is raining outside we can do the project inside and when it is nice we can work on the patio so it is working out well but it is a lot of work! I am thankful for my dad and brothers helping me out

We bought our house a little over 2 years ago and there wasn't one room that didn't need to be renovated. So far we've done the dining room, living room, entry way, hallways & the basement bathroom. We're just wrapping up the upstairs office/someday baby room right now. This summer I would like to get both upstairs bathrooms done and the kitchen. That's the goal! The master bath is a floor to ceiling reno that will take a while, and a lot of $$. Not too sure about the ensuite, hopefully that's more of an aesthetic one. The kitchen is pretty minor, replace one window, new counter tops, tile back splash and a little bit of paint. The previous owners were big fans of yellow, and it's just gotta go.

Yes I am! If I could find the money to fund this home improvement. Mine is the flooring. Our carpet is so really off-colored already that I think I don't want to shampoo it anymore. I want to change it too hardwood. I know that it could get expensive, but I think it would be worth it. I'll go buy a lottery ticket!

I don’t have plans any home projects because of my busy schedule but I suggest some ideas to help you on your project. Wallpapers on your ceiling with color white with butterflies will best suits on your living room. Color green on your bedroom to relax your eyes and have a better sleep. Sky blue also suits in your comfort rooms, and color brown in the kitchen.

I sold my house in 2010 and bought a bungalow. That year I got a new kitchen and fireplace. In 2010 I got five new double glazed windows. Right now I am traveling in Argentina. Soon I will be in Chile. I don't think I will be able to afford a new porch. I can't change my wet room but I would like to add a shower. l

Well there is nothing that is going to be planned for this summer, per say. But I am sure that something is going to come up, somehow. There always is with this summertime projects afterall. There have been times where things appeared to be home free for the summer in the past. There was nothing really planned. Some years things are planned, but other years, plan just present themselves as the summer goes in. I cannot for the life of me figure out what might be on tap for this year. But perhaps I am really not thinking hard enough about anything that might pop up. Because there is just something that is bound to rise up above the top, sooner or later. That is just really the thing about summertime home improvement projects. But right at this moment, nothing is on tap. Of course, things could change, as something will go wrong and thus need improvement.

In my house, usually it's just me, to have the initiative to make improvements to the dwelling. Today, March 21, is spring. One of my projects that I want to make short-term, is to repaint the walls of the bedroom of my brother. I say the truth: That room would really need a coat of paint! To this I would paint the wall, the first 2 meters from the bottom, light blue. The rest, including the ceiling, obviously white, and possibly with water paint. The only problem is that my brother hardly leaves his spare room, and I, when I work, I want to do it in solitude.

Good that you are planning to decorate your house.I think that you choose the best color for you to decorate and you can think about the best one to look good in house.

At least you have a kitchen to start with, whereas I don't , you see we moved to this house where my husband and his friend and working partner said they would renovate the house. My husband and I live in the basement suite and it's nice enough but we need to renovate the kitchen and dining room and living room. So far, my husband and partner have put in new tiles and painted. I have a fridge and stove but am waiting for a kitchen sink, countertop and cupboards. I use the fridge and stove but have to wash dishes upstairs in our friend's kitchen for a while. They are so busy with other reno jobs that it will take some time before I get my kitchen. I can't wait because it's a little frustrating carrying dishes up and downstairs. Good Luck with your renovations!

Since we rent, there really isn't much improvement we can make other than to add a few decorative accents or such. I look forward to the day when we own, so I can do serious redecorating when I feel like it.

Like you I want to re-decorate the kitchen. When we moved in the walls were orange, and the walls and the cupboards didn't match. When we saw the house for the first time my first thought was: "I definately want to re-decorate that kitchen". I painted the walls and that improved the look, but I still need to do something about the cupboards and the hideous tiles (looks like something from 70's) I would like to paint the cupboards this summer. I am not sure about the colour, but it is not going to be orange I would also like to do something about our living room, because the floor is very old and very ugly. Our house is from 1920 and the previous owner didn't change the floor. She covered the floor with rugs, but we don't have rugs, and I want to change to floor. I am not sure that we can afford it is this year, but I hope so, because I am tired of looking at that ugly floor each day.

count me in!!! Im moving to my sister's place on July because she will move to her new house. I will have 2 rooms, 1 living room, 1 bathroom and 1 kitchen, it sound nice, i will feel as living in my own home but actually it is still part of my parent's house (i mean my parent actually live at the same building but the house is designed as 2 houses). I have plan to use 1 room as my bedroom and the other room as my closet and I will decorate it as a mini boutique. actually I dont need the living room so I will decorate it as a home office. I want traditional look, I want my bedroom to look like a hotel room. I want my bathroom to look like bathroom in the SPA center. It wont cost a lot because my father really love to make furniture, my sister and I can make the curtains, bedsheets and anything that i need. we rarely buy furniture, my father often makes it for us.

Having a home improvement is not in the list this summer for now but one of the agenda is to really have a full blast general cleaning to make the cleaner and more fresh and refreshing this summer that could somehow ease the feeling of hotness.
