Do you have a busy life?

I hear some people say that it is better to be busy than doing nothing at all. Sometimes, I like the feeling of being busy. When I am always doing something, I tend to forgot some problems or things that make me sad. On the other hand, sometimes it makes me feel tired and depressed too as it seems I am forgetting some things in my life like having fun with my family and friends, or having enough sleep. There are times, I just want to stop and enjoy life, but I know I must work hard to earn money for my family. How about you? Do you have a busy life too?

I have found that life is all about choices. Some focus on their health...their bad health and rarely talk about anything else. I think some people feel important and even busy when they have an illness. I used to have to work and I was always tired and struggled to get therough the days, the weeks and so on. We need to attain some balance, an interested perspective and a healthy attitude to our daily doings whether it be work or play. However you spend your time, it's best to do it wisely and make it count. The choices are yours.

I think that's only natural really. When you feel this way, take a second or two to think about things you are grateful for or things that make you happy or even maybe something good that happened lately, something that made you smile. When you have a happy attitude it makes everything worth while (and when you do it enough times it becomes a great habit)

hi MsTickle, I do agree with you. We should use our time wisely and make it count. Whatever we do, we should give on best to it and be happy with it. I hope I can always have a positive attitude towards work. Sometimes, I got affected with some problems that makes me want to quit working.

I agree with you. I understand what you feel as I had a bad relationship too. It took me a long time before I was able to forget him. It was not easy. I made myself so busy so I could not think of him but there always come the time that he entered my mind. Now, it seems I already moved on. I hope you are, too.

Wow, I like to be busy when it comes with shopping. I love buying the things I want especially if I have the money. Nowadays, I am in vacation and there are plenty of bonding time with my family and friends. I am happy with it. I have 2 months vacation and I will grab the chance to spend it with all my loved ones.

I like being busy because then I am never bored. But being busy doesn't mean I can't be busy doing something I enjoy like having fun with family and friends. That is part of my being busy. I can always find something to do and I am never bored! So that is good. On the other hand, my husband likes to relax a lot, sleep and watch T.V. a lot. I like to watch T.V., but not all day. It makes me feel like I'm wasting time. Also, to me sleep seems like a waste of time, but I know that it isn't. It just seems like it. We all need enough sleep, but sometimes I wish we didn't need it. I don't like to go to sleep, but once I am asleep, I don't like to wake up! That is unless I have had enough sleep. Over all, it's good to try to balance out the busyness and the rest time.

Yes, there are times that I don't sleep much but we really need to sleep to regain the energy we had lost from too much work.. I love being busy too but when problems come amidst the busy schedule, that is the time I want to take a break and stop for a while.
25 Mar 12
SO do I. I consider that sleeping only stop everything, but when I slept I don't want to wake up. But truly we need to spend some minutes to sleep for the balance between our job and our rest. I remember, someone said, we only have at about 65 years to stay living. but a half is for sleeping, it means, we live truly only 32,5 years. it is for working, walking, studying, dating, shopping, and everything. Do we plan any other things to live in the day after? let us check ourselves.

Sleeping makes us forget for a while what happened the whole day. It relaxes our mind.It also gives us more energy. We need it especially if we already feel suffocated with too much work or too much study. But there are times that we deprive ourselves from sleeping because we think that there are lots of things to do.

No,I don't live a busy life, but I want to be busy with my work.Or,I should say, sometimes I am very busy and sometimes I have nothing to do.And I am not satisfied with it.I want to be busy and it seems my wish is going to be fulfilled this year.I am,in all likelihood, going to join a job and that's what would make my life busy.

I am happy that it seems you are going to get what you want. When I was just a freshman looking for jobs, I was really excited to get a job and be busy. I was very, very bored inside our house doing household chores while many of my classmates were already working. I wish I could be as busy as them. Now, I have my work and it really gives me so many paperwork and a lot of responsibilities to the extent, that I am losing contact with my high school and college friends because I cannot find time to do it.

Last year ,i spent the most sadness time in my life .Because i got badly along with my classmates. For me ,spending time with them i would feel depressed so much . i always hid my heart at the dark corner so as to get me alone ,at the same time they were also leaving me away on purpose. In order to relieving myself ,i was absorded in study and explosing my favourious subject, physics. And after my effort ,my scores were incresing fastly and i became more confident about study .finally ,i enjoyed my hunting for knowledge especially my favour ,and became not focus too much on them . So ,at that time i lead a busy study life .

I am glad you were able to recover from the sadness you felt during that time. Some students cannot get away from the sadness they felt from their classmates and just dropped their subjects or stop on studying. You are a brave and smart person. Not all have the courage to do what you did.

Yes and no. I am very busy at times and I like that, but then again it is also nice to have some quiet time just to meditate and contemplate things with no hurry! Maybe its the contrast between the two that makes things worthwhile!

I agree with you. While reading your post, I remember a work written by Plato. Any thing which is extremes is not good. Too much or too little of something is not good. I hope that I will learn soon how to balance my life so I can enjoy my living more. Working and having good money and having enough time for my loved ones.

Try to be the Goddess of small life. I think we must try to enjoy life every second and try to play life as if there is no second. Try to enjoy life and think that there is no tomorrow. Most times when we think about future we try to get sad. Life is precious and we must try to be happy and make happy and try to do the best in our life.

Not really busy but I keep myself occupied as being idle is not good.Being to busy is not good either because everyone needs to take a break.I'm happy because I had the opportunity to work at home because I don't feel stressed & my work doesn't feel like work at all.Plus I have time to attend to my needs as well.

I think that there has too be a balance in life. I like to be busy and sometimes I like to be relaxed. Many years ago, I wanted to be busy all the time and didn't want to just sit around relaxing, but as the years went by, my daily meditation taught me that there is nothing that is more important than anything else in life, and whatever I am doing right now, needs full attention.. That way I can work away, without a busy mind, but a mind that is focused on each task I am doing in the here and now, fully present. _Derek

hi Annierose.. Thanks for responding. Focus comes gradually with meditation. Before I practiced daily meditation, I wasn't very focused either. If you go to my profile page I have a link on instructions on how to meditate. The link it on the right hand side of my avatar picture with the wording.. "If you wish to know about zazen (meditation)Meditation" The word meditation underlined, will take you to the page. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me and I will be happy to do all I can to help you. _Derek

You posted a very good response. I really like it. I guess, what is lacking with me is "focus". I have many things to do in my life. I wanted to do this, I wanted to do that, and really, "I cannot focus." I am easily distracted and that is my problem. Can you tell me how to be in focus? I will gladly appreciate it.

It is always better to lead a busy life but not so much that you don`t have time for your family and no time for yourself. There are people who are workaholics who become stressed if they do not have any work. For them work is supreme and they are after more and more money.Such persons end up with high blood presure, hypertension and heart problems and become susceptible to cancer and also diabetes. But they will not change their lifestyle for anything. One should lead a balnced life and have a little of everything.I have been retired for the last 14 years but keep my mind busy and do some activity all the time. Therefore i do not realize how my time passes and the days, months and years just whiz past.

I agree with you. I wonder sometimes and ask myself if I work to live or live to work. I know I have to enjoy life but because I am the only one who is working in the family, I do all my best to provide money. It makes me feel good once I already have my salary to be given to my mother. She use it for our food, bills, and other things which I believe is important. When there is some extra money, she put it in the bank for future emergencies. As of now, I want to have a house for someone to rent. I want the earnings of it for my family. The house is almost done and I am happy with it.

I am busy most days and because of this I set aside a day for rest and light tasks. If it helps, I push on and continue working but this is because I took the rest that enabled me to stay put with work for a long time. There are days when I have to stop but seeing how important it is to finish tasks I keep going at a moderate pace depending on how much I can do. In all, keeping busy is great as long as you have the energy.

Well, sometimes even I don't have energy I still must continue working because my job is in rush or in need immediately. I remember a time when a memo didn't reach us ahead of time. There will be a contest among students and I was not able to prepare my student for that. We were all shocked that the contest will be the next day. Because of that, I rush myself to review my students despite the fact I also have many important things to do too.

Exactly how I am feeling right now, Annierose. Wanting to stay in bed till late and only get up doing something interesting, but still have to work cause not enough money to laze about. Is there really people who hit a jackpot and boom he/she becomes the rich and no need to work anymore...

Even if a person won millions, billions or more than that and he did not use the money wisely, he will be poor again. Rich people need to work too to maintain their wealth. That is what I know base my observation on the people around me. I feel lazy too sometimes and is really reluctant to go to work but my students and my family needs me. So, no matter how lazy or tired I am, I push myself to work.

I guess you are right that being busy is better than doing nothing at all. This means that you still have a job that will earn you money like what you said for your family. I am also a busy person, especially in work. There are also times that I like to have a long vacation and spend more time with my family. This happens usually during Holy Week where there are 4 days of vacation from work. However, there are times that makes me bored during this kind of long holidays especially when you are used to a busy. You will keep on thinking on what you are can do to make the time runs. I also like to be busy because you will not notice that time passed quickly. Before you know it, office hours were already finished and time to go home. At home, I used to cook and play with my son. Being busy person is not bad, but you need also to take care of yourself and need some relaxation as a reward for yourself.

During school days, it is really difficult to relax because I have a very demanding job. I work even on weekends. Moreover, I am also taking up my Master's Degree which makes me very busy. Now, classes are over but we still have to report to school. There will be some seminars, emergency meetings and others during the vacation but I won't be much stressed because no students to teach. As of now, I am doing my best to give time to my family and friends. It feels so good that after long months of being busy at work, I can spend my time with them.

Whenever I am busy, I tend to forget to talk to my family and friends to ask how are the things.. I don't have much time to socialize or to play games because I am focusing on my job. Sometimes, when we are too focus on our jobs, we tend to forget others things which is most of the time, "to have some fun."

being busy with work, personal, interest, business, etc. is a habit and a practice of an individual, when i am busy with my work, i always make sure that i am doing the right thing to do so that mistake and redundancy will be avoided, with my personal life, i am busy with doing errands and bonding with my husband, with my interest, i have so many things to do but the problem is i only have few hours and limited resources.

I have same experience as you. I love to learn languages but I have limited time on it. I have been learning Spanish for 2 years and I am very slow on it because I don't have much time to study it. I agree with you that once we work, we should be careful in order to avoid doing the work again. I am sometimes careless that makes my work so slow.

I stay busy from the time that i wake up till the time i go to bed. I work all the time the only time that i really get to sit down and relax is the weekend. But then i pretty much stay busy because i didnt have time during the week to do anything and also my husband helps out family members on the weekends so i kinda have to follow along there. I do try to spend time with the family during the week though. My kids go to school during the day and then go to day care after school. I pick them up from daycare by 6pm everyday of the week. I do take them to the park at least once a week just because that is a great family time when we can go out there and we play on the slide and swings and then we some times go into the grass and throw the ball around a little bit. But there is always house cleaning, grocery shopping, doctors appts, or work that has got to be done. I stay tired i could go to sleep right now and if no one bothered me i could sleep for days and it not bother me a bit. But i think that has alot to do with im depressed on the inside but dont have time to stop and think about it and be sad about it. I do wish that i would have more time with my family but i am trying to work more time in with them now.

I feel the same way. Sometimes, I think that I spend more time with my colleagues rather than my family and friends. It makes me sad that I feel my life is so boring because I just work and work. Sometimes, I hate myself because I want to have some part time job but I cannot because I have a lot to do with my current job. And because of that I cannot earn much. I tend to be so workaholic sometimes because I want to give the best to my family especially to my old parents.

You know, having a busy life is not all about felling your whole time up with work, but to have something to dedicate to the whole day long. Creating a monthly and weekly schedules helps a lot to get things organized in order to not have "free time" during the day. Thinking like that you are going to make good use of your time, having the right time to work, eat, have fun, study, sleep, etc. So, there won't be need to not have fun or not work enough, you could just have it all but with focus and, of course, sometimes doing one more than another... but than, that's how it works. Now about me, well yes I can say I have a very busy one, always doing something to take the most of my time. I don't like to have the "nothing to do" time, gotta fill that up with something, even if watching a movie or playing the guitar.

Being organize is a great help in order not to be stress a lot during busy days. Comes with being organize is the self discipline. Sometimes, even you have the schedule, there will be times it will change or needs to be change due to unavoidable circumstances and that what makes me stress and tired.
