when I was faced to choose between writing or reading I would be confused I love both of them and that's why I now try to be good writer I want to write because I am very interested in the world to read. I did not choose the type of reading that I would read because I think the most important is the knowledge gained when I read a book after reading, I will find a desire to write what I think and it just happened so between reading and writing, I would not choose one of them because I have both :) what about you???

I must admit that I read more than write, even here in myLot. I'm not particularly a creative person, and I admire those who are. So I love to read anything that interest me, and by reading a lot I also learn to develop my own creativity.

I love reading and writing both but I would have to say that I enjoy writing more because I write lyrics and poems and I get a much better feeling of fulfillment when I am able to create something that I am proud of. Reading is awesome too though because you can learn virtually anything from books and you can also gain a lot of inspiration from reading that can help you with your writing. They both go hand in hand and I try to get time to be able to fit both of them into my life whenever I can.

To be a writer one must read, To read one must write. A writer is also a reader. As for me, I wanted to be a writer, but I am lost of words. So what am I doing is that I will read, read and read a lot. Just a piece of advice, When you read, read whole-heartedly.

hi ! I agree that to be a writer one must read and read .But to be a good reader does not mean you can be good at writing too. I believe that writing takes some skills, talent and a powerful imagination to be able to succeed in that area also some practice. But we all can learn, so there is hope. :D

Reading and Writing are equally important for me. Basically, you won't really learn how to write if you don't read. So if you want to write, you must read a lot. It's just like saying, if you want to cook, you must eat all sorts of food to know how to cook well and how to know how to determine a delicious dish. I hope it makes sense. You also can't write effectively if you don't read and re-read your work. AND! Reading alone is like learning without necessarily putting the knowledge into application. At least that's how I view it. Reading and Writing ALWAYS come together. Remember these were the first things taught to us in kindergarten? :)

I enjoy both. I love to read and I definitely love to write. I enjoy keeping a regular journal online and this acts as a kind of therapy for me when I am feeling down and depressed. I think they say that if you love to read then chances are that you have the ability to write well as you are adopting the language of all those writers out there. I love to read as for me this acts as a kind of escapism and I can then escape into another world or take on a new adventure. Writing definitely helps to pass the time and it also helps me to analyse my own thinking and my thoughts. It could be dangerous going so deep into your own mind as you could become trapped there:) Anyway, I have various articles published online on websites like Triond and Helium, those two are my favourite writing websites and it's nice to have others comment on your work and you can receive their input and feedback. If you are not a member of those two websites then I would strongly recommend that you join and you can see how others write and so forth. Good luck. Andrew

Hi there! I prefer to read more than write. I'll just write when I need to write. But I am sure everyone can do both-read and write. It is just up to them whether to write or read.(^^)

Words written down give yo a feeling of freedom, so I often write asa means to express my feelings.

I like reading more. I can only write if I read a lot too. When I read enough, it becomes easier to find the words I'm looking for, and it's easier to express my thoughts. Writing makes more sense if we have readers, so it's better to be a reader too sometimes.

i love reading, and i also love writing, but i am not want to be a writer. i just like to write something else after what i read. if i found there is beautiful sentences in the book, i will also write it down. because i know if i want to come back to the book again, it is a little bit harder for me, since i still have a lot of book to read through ^^ wish you success to be a good writer =)

Reading and writing comes hand in hand. I want to write when there's interesting topic that comes out in my mind. I want to read when there's something interesting to read about. But I think, I prefer to read. I usually do it because it gives me information and I gain new knowledge.

I love both reading and writing, and I would never choose one over the other. I think in order to write, you've got to do a whole lot of reading. Through reading one often improves as a writer. I don't think I've ever met an avid reader who didn't want to write as well. I've also met a fair number of non-readers who wanted to be writers, but their writing tended to be on the low end of the quality scale.

i would rather read then write,i do not like to handwrite anything, if i have to write something i will type up and print it out rather then handwrite it..even letters i send.. but as for reading, i love to read but i do not like thick books i like the then ones and in paperback, im picky on that as well..

Well, i choose reading than writing. When i was younger, i really love reading, even old newspapers and magazines, i would not throw them until i have finished reading all of them. When i buy newspapers in the morning i would not stop until i have read everything from the first page to the last. I'm also fond of subscribing magazines, readers digest, newsweek and even local newspapers. I also love reading novels and educational books. But now, i have eye defects already and i could not read without eyeglasses so i seldom read anymore. Besides, i don't have the time too. I don't like writing because i am not good at it. Though i know how to speak and understand English but i could not say that i am good at constructing sentences, though my work requires me to write technical reports every quarter. I just do it because it is a requirement. But how i wish i am a good writer.

I like both.I have been a book lover since my childhood. At that time I loved to read fairy tales and now I read books on wild life, politics, social issues, religion, history and philosophy.Wild life, history and politics have been my favorite subjects. My experience has been that you can be an impressive writer only if you are a good reader.Reading books by great writers teaches you how to write. You learn how to develop a good style of writing.I have written a number of stories in my mother tongue Hindi, and all of them were widely appreciated.
