Ever Get the Impression Someone Doesn't Like You?

Had an appointment today with a new podiatrist. Thought I had a bunion issue going on with my left foot. X-rays were taken and it's arthritis in the joint. The assistant came in to wrap the foot and she said the doctor said to wear the wrap for 5 days. She also told me the wrap will feel tight at first but will eventually get loose. As she was wrapping it the foot was bent back closer to my body. I think she didn't like me or any of my comments which is why it's wrapped so tight..lol I can hardly walk. My toes haven't turned blue yet so guess it's ok. Have you ever had a problem with a body part being wrapped way too tight and you took it personally and thought the person wrapping the body part was picking on you? lol

I don't really think it's a good idea for your foot to turn blue. That just doesn't sound right and I would loosen it. You just never know today what people are doing or thinking about and sometimes they just plain make stupid mistakes. It might not have anything to do with you, but if she was thinking about her ill child, or that she has to go food shopping after work, it wouldn't surprise me that this was wrapped too tight. I never had this happen but sure have had nurses dig deep for blood tests, lol!

Oh yeah I agree with you. Some people are sidetracked with their own lives and I understand it. My toes are not blue but I keep checking. I can't loosen it. It will require using scissors to cut it off. It's layered. If it's still way too tight in the morning will call their office. I can cut it off but it would take awhile and really that will defeat the purpose of the wrap. As she was wrapping it I could see the devil in her eyes (kidding.) I understand about the blood tests too. Thanks for responding.

I am irritated this evening. This was a new dr. Came recommended from my previous dr. who moved his practice. My husband stopped by the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for this joint problem and the dr. did NOT call it in. He said I would feel so much better. Well I won't know until I call tomorrow and tell them someone forgot to call it in. I really liked the dr. but hate it when things like this are overlooked. My poor feet are always cold even in the summer. But this is not caused from aging since I've been like this forever. I sure can relate to the cold feet.

Well I hope things get better for you. Keep your "tootsies" warm so they don't lose circulation. I can't stand it when my feet are cold, lol!

We shouldn't take these things personally, but yes I know this feeling too... I had an operation last year, and was left with a huge scar, two times bigger than I expected. Even though I was told about the reason, it's hard to get rid of the thought that the surgeon did it to make me ugly I hope your foot is okay despite the tight wrap!

I had the same thing happen last year to my face. Small red spot that was cancerous and it was removed. They didn't tell me it would be the length of my face. I do the best I can to cover it up and just continue on. It's arthritis in a joint and has been there awhile. Glad I had it looked at finally. The wrap comes off Sat. This dr. is saying no surgery so that's a good thing! Have you tried Mederma Cream on the scar? It works pretty good but won't totally hide the scar. Thanks for responding.

Thanks so much. I have tried all kinds of scar creams and nothing works. The particular scar that bothers me is on the side of my face. Pretty much the entire length of my face. It had to be done since the alternative wasn't good! I just deal with it. It's all related to too much sun as a kid. No turning back kind of thing.

Hope you get better soon, it sounds painful. But it's great that you don't need surgery! I can't even complain about my scar - I can hide it with my clothes. I check if Mederma is available here, I got something that was said to be the best for scars, but turned out I'm allergic to it. So I'm using calendula cream now.

When it comes to the wrapping of the many breaks and sprains that I've had in my life, I don't remember ever having the impression that someone didn't like me because of the way that it was wrapped. Now, I do know of one person that doesn't like me and I don't know why it is that she doesn't like me. You see, over 13 years ago I dated a guy and he and I have become friends again after all these years. His girlfriend now doesn't really know a lot about our prior relationship, but she has neeer seemed to like me very much. I don't understand it either because all I really want for her boyfriend is for him to be able to be happy.

There use to be a saying many years ago, "don't let your mom brush your hair when she's mad." This is the way I viewed the gal that was wrapping my foot. It was so tight I could barely walk the rest of the day. Maybe the girl is jealous and may know something about the time you dated the guy. Those things happen. Thanks for responding.

In 2000 I had my first plastered ankle and it did get me a two months of rest and it was great fun to have one at the start... but over the days, I stared feeling something similar to what you have felt - wrapped way too tight I havent thought yet on the lines that person who was doing the plaster was doing it on purpose and picking on me... as I was sure that this had to be done for my paining ankle to get right

I'm sure she was doing her job but it's the way she was talking and explaining things. I'm so flat footed and don't think she took that into account. Last night I was miserable but today is much better. Thanks for responding.

Last night I was miserable but today is much better That is great news. yes, many a times these medics when they start explaining... they are worse at explaining things as they only can do so in medical terms not in plain simple english

Maybe it was supposed to be that tight. Maybe it's for the better. I haven't had my foot wrapped before but maybe it's not true that she doesn't like you. I always get the impression that thee are so many people who doesn't like me. And whenever I tell it to my best friend, she disagrees with me. She says that it doesn't seem like this girl or that boy doesn't like me and that I just was just misunderstanding their treatment to me. So maybe your podiatrist is really always like that to her patients.

This was his assistant who wrapped it. I liked the dr. Thought he was real professional. However this gal seemed a little miffed at the world so thought she was taking it out on my poor foot..lol

i am sure she didnt take it personally, i dislike my boss at work and i have a feeling that she doesnt like me. She barely talks to me and has tried bullying me in the past but i havent let her. She has her favourates on my department and she also has people that she dislikes i think im one of them.

I hate it when that happens. Just makes for a miserable time at work. Thanks for responding.

It has been a hard two years and she is a bully, but the boot is on the other foot now because the person who is now her boss hates her

I stay with the same dr. until they retire or just leave the practice. This happened twice lately so I do have a couple of new doctors and am content. Thanks for responding.

Hello carolbee. Speaking of the impression that someone doesn't like you, I do get the impression from one of colleagues. He does not like me and ignores me after a few months of working together because of something that did not meet his satisfaction, but I am still kind and try my best to help him in his work. It is ok if he does not like me, but I still offer him help when he asks me. Business is business even if no friendship comes from him...

well, i seem to get this a lot..probably because of my personality..i usually dont talk a lot..so people misinterpret that for being a snob...well...im not a snob..actually im just a bit hesitant to be the first to open up a conversation..especially if its a new group of people..im afraid to say something wrong..

I use to be this way when younger. Am able now to jump right into a conversation and get people to talk. Once I realized this gal didn't want to be bothered, I stopped trying to make conversation. Thanks for responding.

To be honest, I personally, and I must say, fortunately I have not had a similar experience. But just to answer your request if you know my opinion, excuse me for saying so, but I do not think that the janitor has you wrapped with gauze, has too narrow a purpose to make you wrong. Maybe it is right to be so strict? Well I do not know! However, you might as noticing how you said a few days. If the bandage becomes loose as I have said, then ok, otherwise, returns you to those who have "blindfolded" and let to visit again.

Oh, there are many people who are like that. The best they can do is not to talk to me since i most likely don't like them either. No harm done, right?

I was trying to be friendly since it took awhile to wrap the foot. Basically trying to make conversation. I don't think she had any interest in chatting. Yep, no harm done. Thanks for responding.
