Today it is the 4th day a stranger calling in my phone simulteniously without any particular reason. when he ranged me, he asked me whether Ashnu is there. I had answered in a quite manner that this is a wrong number and the person you are trying to call is not here but still he calls me daily. I had asked my friend whether it is them but all of them had answered that they are not. I wounder from does the stranger get my number. I don't know what i had to do in this situation. Do you ever had such phone calls? What you will do if you got a strange call? Do you ever feel that mobile phones are the ones which creates you disturbances? Please help me!

I ask the person calling what number they are calling. If they aren't giving me my number than I tell them they called a wrong number and to please dial more carefully. If they tell me my number, I tell them there is no one at this number by that name. When they repeat it several days, I ask them to please quit calling my number looking for the person because they do not live here, I don't know them, and they won't ever be here. I have asked when the call is repeated if they are calling from a cell/mobile phone because frequently they program the phone number in and just don't change it. When they repeat the call several times, I tell them please remove my number from their cell/mobile phone. But I have had some repeat too much and had to learn how to block that number from ringing on my phone. They will get tired of not getting an answer or that they may have the wrong number even though they were told they did. Good luck, those types of calls can be an annoyance. Thanks for the discussion.

I have not heard of it. I found that many phones have the programming built into them including cell phones to block calls. Usually you can call your phone provider and find out if it is or not.

I actually have accidentally done that to a person as well. You see, my parents decided to change their phone service provider and the service provider has 300 or 305 beginning. Since my home phone starts with 305 and with the same provider, I keep on dialing a wrong number with the irritated female voice answering each time! hehehehe.. Worst, I let it ring for a whole minute and she answers (perhaps from her sleep or something) just to get a wrong number. I bet she's really annoyed with me too! So, don't worry bout it, as long as the person isn't asking you personal information, then that's just about it. It's just a number similar to that number he wishes to call, only he forgets the right one (just like me). Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Not really ignore. But just don't get tired of saying "wrong number". Soon he will get familiar with your voice and would realize he's dialing the wrong number. Just be patient. Think of it as a daily habit or think of it positively. At least you get to practice your skit every time. Perhaps it's also a good way to check if your phone is working hahaha.. However, it's different if he keeps on calling several times a day. There is something wrong if that happens.

my phone only rings about 3 times before going to voice messaging. Hardly enough time to drop what im doing to run and answer it. Sometimes my phone dont even ring but just goes to voice messaging. Who ever calls will leave a message if they want me to call them back.

If you recently got your number than chances are this belonged to the person they are trying to get in touch with. My son had this problem with someone calling and sending texts. I finally had him send the text and tell them if they kept on I would report them to the cell phone carrier. They did not call back again.

I had same experience/s and the best thing to do is to off your phone for a while. However, you might miss important messages or calls. So,if you cannot off your phone, just ignore the call and I am sure the caller will get tired. I believe that, if the caller mis-dialed a number and you have given the information that he/she is calling a wrong number- that caller will stop calling after two or three attempts. But, if the call keeps on for many times, I guess it's one of your friend/s who's making prank calls.

If I were you, I would ignore his calls. I am sure you have a caller ID. It would be best to save his number to your phonebook, so that when he calls again, you'll know immediately that it's he again. Just ignore the call. If you're getting irritated with the ringing tone, turn it off. I assure you if you keep on ignoring him, he will stop calling you. I have also experienced the same issue for several times. I always ignored the calls, and they gave up for they know that I'm firm, and I'll not answer no matter what.

I do not have that problem, but my son did. He had gotten a new cell phone number. He spent a long time telling people that they had the wrong number. He had one, that would not give up. He just started ignoring it and not answering that number.

Hi! It is really disturbing if some stranger calls us without any reasons. Any saner person will not call again, if he is told once that he has called the wrong number. In this case, if the stranger is calling continuously, it means he is playing mischief. You could sternly tell him that if he calls next time, you would report the matter to police, as you have his phone on your mobile. I have also received such calls and if the caller calls me again, I tell him that "do not disturb me, else I will inform the police that you are stalking, along with details of your number"

That happened to me once too. But the stranger always wants to talk to me. He knows my name and he knows my father too but whenever I ask my father, he said he doesn't know this man so it's really creepy. Maybe he's like a stalker or something. At first I was a little bit scared but after a few weeks of disturbances, instead of being scared, I was becoming really annoyed by him. I ended up shouting at him whenever he calls. And then he just stopped.

Uhm, he didn't really do anything. He just threatened me that he will tell my dad that he wants to date me. (I'm not allowed to date anyone yet. My parents are too strict and they will be furious if that guy tells my dad about it) I was a little scared at first. But that's ridiculous. Those kinds of people are really annoying. He just stopped calling after I shouted at him because I was so annoyed.

Hello thewonderboy, I would suggest you not to pick up that strange call. Whenever you receive a call from an unknown number try not to receive that call and if you do, then don't say Hello first. Let the caller speak first and if you feel that the same person is on the other line, then either disconnect the call without saying anything or keep holding the call (obviously without making any sound) until the caller disconnects the call.

This happens to me too time to time. Lately I have been called from call centers to do questionnaires, and from the telephone company to try out new services. When they do that a lot, it's usually just too much. I have a bad habit of not picking up the phone for hidden numbers when I have such kind of calls, or when somebody is disturbing me. What is wrong about this is that I might miss important calls, but if I suspect who was calling me I can call back.

I get strange calls like that lot on my phone. I have even strange texts like that. I have noticed when getting another phone, the number given could of been used by someone else before. If that is the case, than the stranger calling could be calling to talk to the person who previously had the same number. I still get calls for ex room mats I no longer see. I had such a text saying to leave them alone that they have a woman. I tried the reverse look up phone number but had no luck. I don't recognize the number it was texted from at all.

Is this a problem on your land line phone or on your mobile/cell phone? Landline phone numbers are easier to check up on to see if there was a previous owner with problems. As said above, mobile phones can be checked by your supplier. Either way, don't let this upset you. Advise the caller that you are tracing his call and that he will be hearing from the police shortly.

if it bothers you, you can ignore the calls from the same number. as long as it is not harming or harassing you, it might be truly a wrong number. then, if it continues, then you can report to an authority - phone company and police. or you can change your number so that the person can not call you anymore.

If you don't want that stranger to call you ever again, call your mobile service provider to block this number, and he won't ever bother you again. I received some strange phone calls from time to time, but I would answer them nicely, and they had made a wrong number. They won't bother me again though. I hope that was a prank from one of your friends.

It happens to me in some instances. What I first do is tell the person that he got the wrong number but if he still keeps on calling me... then I just don't answer the phone since I know the number he's using.
