I think my body is going through some changes...

Well, it is getting to be that time. I know I'm going through some stages of menopause because my body temperature has increased a few degrees. I used to always be cold. Now, I'm always comfortable or warm. I don't have hot flashes (yet) but it is rather difficult being much warmer than my husband all the time. Lately, I've noticed that my hair is getting kinda straw-like. I recently broke my brush and have gone through a few to fine a new one that I like. But my hair is still very hard to manage. I thought back and it seems like this all started when the brush broke. So, I'm now wondering if it's part of my chemistry changing or if it's that I haven't really found the right brush yet. What do you think it's from? My diet has stayed pretty much the same and my hair is usually more manageable when it gets warmer out like it is lately.

Changes in the hair are usually an indication of a changing body. If your diet hasn't changed but your body is having temp changes and your hair has changed I'd say you should probably to see your GYN and talk to him/her about it. If you start having hot flashes you'll definitely run to the GYN!! Hormone therapy is a God-send and you'll want to consider it. The natural stuff didn't work for me and I didn't know that some of it like black cohosh can only be taken for a limited time or it will damage your body. So, go see your GYN and good luck!

My usual check-up is over the summer so I'll most likely wait for that. Unless something really drastic happens, I think I'll be ok for a few months. It's just so crazy the things that are affected!

It's a good idea to see your GYNe now, if you are indeed in your premenopausal stage. Your doctor can prescribe you hormonal pills that will help your body transition from losing or from the decrease of naturally produced hormones that contributes to the bodily changes that you're experiencing now.

Is it really important to be seen by your doctor for menopausal symptoms? I didn't remember my mother went to see one, when she was at those stages. But, she managed to live.

Sometimes it is menopause, but I have also heard that Thyroid issues cause similar symptoms. I know that there are blood tests that can determine your estrogen levels so it may be time to see the doctor.

Yes, all the fun blood work. I'm sure when I go for my annual this summer I'll get more answers. My friends are all laughing at me though because they've had symptoms for a while now.

also gg and rd get checked for prediabetes and do keep your weight down. if someone had told me not to let my weight escalate when I started menopause as that triggers diabetes as the increase in fat cellsin our bodies interferes with insulin being able to herd he sugar your muscle cells need for nourishment so that the sugar instead ends up in your blood stream where it can cause damage to all your organs.what i am saying is by keeping from getting middle age spread you can also avoid type 2 diabetes too.

(Laughs) Sorry, just had to laugh. Reinydawn, besides a diet rich in protein, Vitamins A, B, C, D and E and low in starch, fats and salt, you may want to try using some hair lotion or grease to moisturize your hair and help with manageability. Be well!

I say it is probably time that you need to go see your GYN doctor as another person suggested. Menopause causes so many changes in a woman's body. As far as your hair is concerned, have you done anything new to it? Dyed it or permed it or anything of that nature? Changing shampoos and using different products on it can also cause these changes. If you have not done any of these things I think you should consult your doctor. Let us know how it turns out!

My normal visit with the doctor is over the summer so I don't see any need to rush in at this point. You know it's going to happen, we all go through it!

What is your diet composed of, Madam? Are you into fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of natural fruit juices and extracts? If not, I suggest you incorporate them in your diet. These will help you feel better.

oh, i think it is menopause still and it may also be because of our lifestyle and diet. menopause doesn't start and stop abruptly and it takes a long time. you can visit your doctor and they can give you something to take because at these time, women have imbalanced hormones already.

hi reinydawn sounds like you are entering peri menop ause and if so go see your doctor as hotflashes and night sweats could be nest,' there are medications he can give you to make you comfortable'again. yes it is likely peri menopause and once you start there its good'to get help from your family doctor as he knows your gody and can till if you have started throu gh menopause.a suggestion from me that as a diabetic I wish someone had told me in your forties and fifities with menopause one tends to put on weight and get middle aged spread. well do not.,check y our weight and if you are overweight even fifteen pounds lose them.this is the timw when we gaing weight and a whole bunc h of us will not know to slim down so weill just pack it on. then wham our doctor does a test on us "Y OU have diabetes"but how come" fat cells if increased tend to stop insulin from its task of getting sugar into the cells of our muscles where it belongs and instead dumps it into our blood steam endangering all ou r organs., to prevent this lose any needed weight,.slim helps to keep the sugar and insulin where they belong and you prevent yourself from getting diabetes.

As we grow older, we go through changes which may be considered as part of aging process. These changes may include inability to regulate body temperature properly, low hormones level among others. Other changes may be pathological in nature and need consultation. It is always good to seek medical advice if you are in doubt.

Oh yeah, I always go through what to expect in the next year with my doctor, she's really good about that. But talking about it and actually going through it are very different.

That true but atleast you are more informed and aware of what is happening which may lessen your worries and concern.
