myLot seems to be on Fast Forward mode at this time of the month

Its my first month in myLot, and I noticed that people seem to be highly active during the last few days. New topics seem to come in every half second and its fun. Then I realized, people are trying to catch up on what they lack to reach the minimum payout. This made me remember the environment I used to have in my previous job. People would tend to cram and give their best a few days before cut off or deadline. It really feels like working, now.

Hi Jureathome, that is usually the case. When you have earned nine dollars, and just a dollar from payout, you will definitely work harder. It is perfectly annoying to see that you miss payout by one cent, and you have to wait for another month to see your money. Even if you reach payout for this month, you will only see the money in paypal in the middle of next month.

Missing payout by one cent is heart breaking!! I have been close before but not quite that close and missed it. It makes for a good next month if you really apply yourself. All is good, eventually you will make it!

Payout is automatic. Everyone who has reached their minimum by midnight (myLot's midnight) on the last day of the month will automatically receive it on or before the 15th of next month.

Right, it'll be on the 15th. By the way, do we need to do anything like press a button to request payout, or is it automatically transferred to our paypal account?

Even i also have noticed it that people are more active here in last days of the month.Of course they try to reach minimum payout in these days. But i don't do so i do work from the starting so that i may be able to reach it easily and don't have to work hard later on.

Right. I will try to have a more systematic way of myLotting on my 2nd month, moving forward. I already have a good plan on how I can manage my time better, so I'd get to enjoy myLot and myLife, more.

Yes, jureathome, Mylot is "work" as well as fun socialization and I too am trying to reach my minimum payout for the month, but that isn't the only reason I'm here. I love interacting with others, discussing a variety of topics, meeting new people (in a safe environment). It is the "safe" socializing that is appealing to me, and the end of the month is when I can be most social. Being here is like a short visit with your relatives and extended family, you can enjoy visiting with them but the door is always open so you can make a quick escape if necessary. I love the end of the month on Mylot...gotta go post away!

hi roberten if you have ever been on a social sight say a diabetes one and had no admind no moderator so anything went and you could get someone who seems to be nuts on your case for no reason except I guess the man was nuts, he claimed to be a cardiologist but he told all of us we were diabetics because we had displeased God and now God was punishing us. I said something like no God would not do that and a few other s joined me,.so he put our names on a list to have Satan curse us and he apparently believed what he said as he posted that silly list. so that is when I decided no more for me and I just left. so when I found mylot I was so pleased that everyone seemed so nice here.

When we get to a new month I hope youwill notice a difference in the topics, and their quality, at the beginning of the month. MyLot slwos down then but there is a much better opportunity to get involved in the discussions because it is then that those Lotters who enjoy discussing are here. I am here all through the month on and off most days and if I start a topic, it always happens in the first half of the month. I then have the rest of the month to just wander about, catching up with comments onmy own topics and responding on tose started by others. This is the third month that I reach payout before the 20th therefore I can be certain that the tips that I dish out to the newer users are tried and tested. It seems that you have put them into practice and understood what "discussing" involves. Well done and it is refreshing to see a new user almost at payout within a month of joining!

hi crazzydolphin I was a nervous wreck the first time I started here as I was going to make a mint by seeing how many posts I could do everyday as I am retired.well all I really accomplished was a splitting headache and a few cents for all that counting then I read something Diana wrote and I slowed way down, quit counting posts and started to make really quality posts and found out I was having fun, joking with others and laughing and suddenly i was shocked at how much I had earned for having fun.I was not worrying, not counting but making good discussions and responses and having a lot of fun commenting and making friends too.So Diana has helped a lot of us here.

i also stay active through out the whole month. i sometimes get to busy and am not on every day but i have lately found the time again :) Thanx to MYSDIANAIT because when i first came here i was in on finding out how to reach pay out that i was missing all the fun here. now i do not even worry about it. i do check it every day and i will keep an eye on the date and how much i have before pay out but at the same time i am here having fun and that is all i need. the money is just an extra plus to that. i will say this tho when i stopped worrying over it so much i saw my earnings go up a lot more than they were each day :) and that has a lot to do with everyone who helped me understand what mylot way all about.

Thanks mysdiana - you're like a muse to the myLot newbies. Always very helpful and never bitter with newbies, even the most stupid of the group.. I will also try that system you have of posting new topics at start of the month and keep discussions going until the end.

jureathome has understood that when she posts a topic for discussion, it only becomes a discussion if she gets involved in it - and her earnings are showing the results of her efforts

Jure good to know that you dedicated your time in here. The problem is, I only full active on mylot from mobile. When get in from of computer, there so much thing to do.And that make me couldn't focus on mylotting. MisD I know that, but like already she said. She has nothing out of Mylot, so its great if She dedicated Her time in here. While for me, I got something to do beside mylot.

MyLot is all I have at this time, so I'm really around most of the time. I enjoy it here, and earning from having fun just makes it more exciting.

It stands to reason that activity would pick up when people are trying to make payout for the end of the month. I've noticed there has been a lot going on here the past few days. As for me, I'm in no rush. I've been on mylot one whole week and have all of $2 in my account so no chance for payout for me, lol. Seriously though, I like coming here just to take part in some of the discussions that interest me, make friends and see what issues others are facing. I probably do more reading on here right now than I do posting, but that's ok. I guess it all depends on why you're here and what you get out of it. In any case, I'm loving the end of the month, not because I'm looking forward to any payout but because I am enjoying all the activity.

Well, that's something new - enjoying reading more than posting to earn. I like that. I also read through threads that are interesting, and sometimes I don't post any response, if everything has been covered. I don't like posting the same idea as the others who've responded ahead of me. Good thing you already got a red star, despite lesser activity.

So, I'm curios, how did you get a red star that fast...with only 100+ posts. I think I was only at 7 when I reached 100. Do you have many friends who rate you well?

Oh don't get me wrong, I like to post as well. I find I'm like you in that I read through the threads and if everything has been covered I sometimes don't post as I don't want to make it repetitive.

Yes, you are correct. Many people are trying to reach payoff. I know I won't make it because I have been absent for awhile, but do still check in every now and then. As for this feeling like work, sorta...but I do have to say it is fun work! Good luck to you!

hijureathome yes we do put on a push but too you cannot say allof us wait til the last minute as thats not always the case. In my self defense I generally work all month to make twice the minimum but I have suffered insomnia the last four weeks and thus slept in in the mornings when ordinarily I would be typing my fingers off to keep up all month so got behind for me.I doubt if I will make my 25 this month bu t am giving this the old college try.

When you're not mentally at your best (bedtime blues) are you still able to come up with good topics to discuss? I had sleeping troubles, too, sometime middle of this month, and myLot was my companion. However, I can barely think of a good topic to start, so I just post responses. It takes me more than a minute or two to complete my statements, because my brain is slowing down.

hi jureathome! well, its that time of the month again when everyone is trying to reach payout so everyone is doubling their efforts in starting discussions and replying to existing ones. i wouldn't say it as cramming but perhaps mylotters have a better sense of urgency when month's end is around because of they want to reach their minimum payout limit. lol at mylotting being work! i guess if you stay at mylot for a good amount of the day every single day of the week then for sure you'll feel like mylotting is similar to work! cheers and happy mylotting my friend!

i know what you mean jureathome. i think the other posters in this discussion raised valid points about mylotters going on an exerted effort everytime end of the month comes in so that they can reach their payout targets. however, the quality of discussions suffer which defeats the purpose of posting at mylot. to ensure better rate of earnings, quality posts should be made every single time during the course of the month and not just during month's end.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mean "working" in a negative way. I love doing this, and have not been thinking of the earnings, until I realized its near month end. And, just like everybody else, I'm trying to push for more and to earn my first cashout. So, just like working, there is a goal to achieve in a certain time frame.

Well, I am trying to reach out the payout too. I hope I can make it this May so by June I can have it in my paypal account.Once it is already a start of another school year, I will be very busy again and I cannot find much time to join mylot. That is why I am doing my best to have fast earnings as much as I can.

Right on the money. I guess literally. I actually don't mean to be more active at the end of the month like everybody else, but like you I see lots of discussions happening and I try to keep up with them all. But when mylot starts to feel like work to me, I tend to log off. I really don't get paid enough to type up responses and not have fun doing it!

I must admit that I myself is included in those myLotter crammers! Well, I am having a hard time trying to reach the payout since I have been busy with work, however, I only found the time to stay in here and post out long enough just this weekend. My other weekends were also gobbled up by work. So that's why I have been active in here lately. But yes, it is a running trend that people usually become more active during these times. But really, I don't see this phenomenon as work after all.

It is not 'work'! It is FUN! Hey you have used two words which could also describe some culinary product - 'crammers' and 'gobbled' - which makes me think that you might be nibbling at some snack while typing If you share your fingers will be freer to use you keyboard!

I just started with myLot as well. I have seen a lot of new posts on the homepage. While I only have a few interests right now, myLot does seem to be pretty busy right now. Of course I am still new and still learning the system, though I think I have most of it down. I'ts not hard to use. The good thing about high activity is there will probably be more posts that you can relate and it will be easy for you to post comments about them.

You can just visit the "new" and "recent" discussions tab to see more topics, even those that are not in your interests list. That's what i recently learned from the vets. I only started with 50 interests, and now I have more than 100, i think. Although, not all interest groups are updated.

I know that newbies don't really take guidelines and FAQs seriously, because they're too excited to start posting and earning. But, I do hope, one of these days (not too late), you will take the time to read more about what to expect here in myLot and how you can better contribute to the community. I did that a few days ago, and its worth it.
