I wanted some software to remove lyrics from a CD so I could use it to accompany me when I sang. Found a good price, opted for an immediate download. . . and when I tried to download it, my computer said the file was corrupted or it had a virus. I e mailed the seller, who never got back to me. I went to PayPal and filed a dispute. They contacted me about ten days ago and suggested I file a claim. I got word tonight that I won my claim and I would get my money back. I am certainly pleased. Most of the time I like shopping online, and I am really glad PayPal helped me this time.

As you know I shopped with Ebay for the first time ever not too long ago. I didn't have a bad experience, just was stalled, and think that from now on I'll use paypal for my whole payment with atleast ebay stuff. I called paypal that same night and it was much quicker, i got my payment back again after I'd say five days. Glad you got your money back, but I hate that the file was corrupted and virus laden.

I am just really glad my computer refused to download it. I find myself wondering if this guy was doing that on purpose.

PayPal is perfect to do some shopping on Ebay, but sadly many sellers are refusing it in my country and are asking for a check, due to PayPal fees.

Before I signed up for paypal, I heard some real horror stories about them not being helpful, or freezing your funds for no reason and things like that. Since I've started using them I'm happy to say I have not had any problems. I've not had to file a claim with them, and hope I never will. Though it makes me happy to see they were helpful with your problem!

I like Paypal. I've never had a situation where I had to file a dispute through them, but with the way they do other business, I wouldn't hesitate to contact them in such a situation. They've always responded quickly and efficiently with any request I make.

I have always had good results with PayPal. Most of my shopping goes well as well, this is just a rare occasion, I think.

I never have enough in Paypal to buy anything online and I use my credit card that gives air miles. But I did hear it is quite good. You do have to be careful online and just go to the established places or those recommended. I knew someone who used to go to ebay, but I never did. Good thing you won your claim.

I do not do credit cards, they have been a problem for me. Of course if I had in this instance they would have gotten my money back even sooner.

I have also successfully claim for dispute through PayPal and their action taken is very prompt and refund has been made without much questions, that is why PayPal is my no 1 choice for payment processor

I wish other sites were as easy to use as PayPal and some of the other things I want to do I wish could go through PayPal. I have never had trouble with it.

Nowadays, Paypal have this thing called Buyer Protection. It is to make sure that buyer doesn't get ripped off by sellers. But this Buyer Protection is focused more on ebay since it is their own company and all they would want is customer satisfaction just like most ebay sellers. But i would like to advice you to be more careful next time when purchasing something on the internet since we wouldn't know what can happen next. Be sure to do some research on the website you are buying first before actually buy from them.

You are right, I probably should have researched this seller a little more, but I was excited to find just what I needed at the moment.

Living with Kathy has sharpened my senses of forgetting something 'then panicking and always I do remember it.,I do not mind the aches and pains of age but want to keep my sound mind all my life.

Hatley, I suspect if you were going to be plagued with dementia it would have started much younger than you are now. None the less, I join you in hoping for a sound mind all of your life.

The seller was certainly ignoring me, that is why I brought PayPal into the dispute. I hope that they limit his account, which they may do.

Even with some of the computer problems we have been having lately, MyLot is still an awesome place to earn money to your Pay Pal. I hope you succeed with that plan.

I haven't experienced any problem like that in my online shopping. I normally use paypal as my payment processor. I am hearing a lot of good testimony about paypal especially when resolving disputes. That is why I trust paypal thn other payment processor. 10 days for me is too long but at least you were able to get your money back with their help.

If I know it is coming, I can wait for ten days. I brought them into the dispute because the seller would not communicate with me at all about the faulty download.

Paypal is excellent for that! I love using paypal because I feel safe, no matter what I buy. If I need to file anything, in which I had a few times in the past; I always got my money back. Even if you join sites that promise to pay you for extra income, and take cash from your account. You can file for that, and win your case, and money back.

Wow, really? Maybe that is why so many of them no longer use PayPal. PayPal had made them honor their promises.
