Mylot (this is what I got?) ~could it be the start of something bad~

I've spend the whole night yesterday responding to different discussions. Well I know about the quality vs. quantity thing about mylot and I did what I have to do. Then I opened my email today and got 3 notifications. The first two notification is to tell me that my response to discussion has been deleted and the last notification is about the discussion that I created has been deleted due to violation in guidelines "Repeat discussion about paypal and alertpay". I opened my mylot today and guess what I EARNED 2cents. WOW what a great payment! By the way one of the discussion that mylot deleted is the discussion about how mylot didn't pay one of their user. That user is from United states if I'm not mistaken and Im not going to be surprise if mylot already deleted his account. I hope this mylot is not going to be a scam.

TRight let me help you to sort out all of your doubts here. First, myLot has guidelines which we must all follow: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx If we start a topic, or respond on a topic, which violates them then we will lose our post when it is deleted by admin and our earnings will go too. It is up to each one of us to be aware of the guidelines and avoiding starting or responding on those topics which are not going to stay long. Second, everything on myLot is based on their time zone, which you can see by the clock at the bottom of the page. If you were active up until the last midnight by that clock then the earnings for that activity have not yet been added to your account. they will appear when the next update takes place in approx 5 hours from now. Earnings only update once every 24 hours and you can see when the last one was by looking right at the bottom of your earnings page. I think I know which iuser you are referring to and indeed their discussion has been removed because it was an individual issue that should have been discussed directly with myLot. However their account is still here and myLot are looking into the problem. If there was an error then their previous account will be reinstated. MyLot is absolutely fair and when mistakes happen they rectify them. MyLot is not a scam in the sense that you intend. It has been paying its users for over 6 years. Those os us who reached our payout last month were paid on the 14th of this month (my payment proof is in my profile) which was a day earlier than stated in the FAQs. I have used the word 'scam' in another sense though and in this case it definately IS a scam - A Social Community Awarding Money - and I can assure you that there are many of us proud to be part of it If you take your time to understand how things work and get it right then youtoo will have the same results as many of us and once you receive your payout too you can then inform others

Sadly many get it wrong but, unlike you, some just leave without expressing their disappointment and they don't give us the chance to help them. I advise you to add this interest too: http://www.mylot.com/w/lists/7_85090/default.aspx There every day you will find many interesting topics concerning myLot and how it works and many of us try to help out with information which helps everyone so that we can all enjoy our time here

Thanks every one, I am sure this topic is going to help me as well. I also wanted to know some of the finer points about the site, which are here and special thanks for SCAM that was wonderfully described. I shall check the interest mentioned here by mysdianite.

Mylot is not a scam. I have been on here for nearly five years. I have responded for soome discussions that were deleted and that brought my daily earnings down quite abit. Also if you wrote during a certain time frame your earnings may not appear until the next day. And, if you write just a few words or one or two lines you may not be credited for what you wrote. I think you have to write atleast a three or four line response for it to even count. I would check over the FAQs and be sure you are folling the regulations of the site. Happy Mylotting!

No, MyLot is not a scam (except as MysDianaIT states above ). It DOES, however, have rules about what makes a good discussion and what does not. It takes a little while to understand these rules but it helps a LOT is you read the Guidelines here: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx carefully, several times. This will help you in deciding not only what discussions you should post but also in deciding what discussions are very likely to be deleted and therefore should be ignored (unless you have a particular reason for responding, knowing that you won't earn anything for it). The discussion you referred to (from a user by the name of 'Ricki') had a history and was deleted because it was an 'individual issue with MyLot' (see the Guidelines). MyLot does delete users' accounts but it is always an individual decision by Admin to do so and USUALLY because a person has been abusing MyLot in some way. In 'Ricki's case, there was a different reason, which it it is not necessary to go into but, anyway, that person had been a victim of abuse rather than an abuser. The discussion was deleted because, as I say, it was an 'individual issue' and because Admin was aware of and was dealing with the problem. When discussions (and their responses and comments) are deleted, MyLot will not pay people for what no longer exists - quite logically and reasonably, so what you earned was for what you had posted which was NOT deleted. The answer is to make sure that you know and understand the Guidelines so that you can avoid having what you post deleted, either because of your fault or because of someone else's! You may also find it useful to read the FAQs on "Earnings", especially the answer to the question: "What can I do to increase my earnings?" - http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14

Mysdianait and I (and quite a number of other people here) have just been here a while and know a good deal about how MyLot works. I used to work in IT (but am now retired) and also know something of how forum administration works 'behind the scenes'. The only people (as far as we know) who are employed by MyLot and who post here have a blue flash against their names - like this person, for example: http://www.mylot.com/goaskalice

Ya that will happen because you did not follow the mylot rules and guidelines .This has also happened many times to me . And wait , please don't suspect mylot because they have been doing great business for many years and they will continue to . And also when your comment or your discussions get removed , then your mylot reputation will also start decreasing . once many of my discussions were removed due to breaking the rules and my mylot reputation fell drastically . From then I couldn't increase my mylot reputation because no one actually presses that "+" button in my posts and comments . So if you do something bad and start losing reputation then it is very hard to get it back . I also would advice you to follow the guidelines strictly because too much of deletion of your posts can seriously affect your earnings . Happy mylotting

You can use the myLot search before porting a topic to ascertain whether it is a repeat or not. You might also receive a reward for uisng it too.

Yes, I think it was my mistake to suspect mylot and not to read the guidelines. Thanks for the info. I'll be careful now, but I think that will take a lot of work to research before you create and response to a certain discussion, besides there are a lot of discussions that had been made and it's not really impossible to repeat a specific discussion, right? hm~ Thanks for responding Happy mylotting

Ya you can earn a small reward when you use the mylot search . @mysdianait : A small question to you is : How can we prevent ourself from creating duplicate discussions unknowingly ? Because there are thousands of discussions being created on mylot everyday and its definitely not possible to go through every discussion before posting something new . And I think the search option searches for discussions based on tags provided by users . But similar discussions may not have similar tags . So is there a fool proof way to avoid posting duplicate discussions accidentally ??

It does take time to earn with mylot and depends on what you do with how fast you will earn. I have made it to $20 and was paid through paypal. Than I took a break and now Im back. I enjoy seeing different conversations and venting or just chatting on here. I wish you luck, but its not a scam. Just patience and time.

Perhaps the solution to the problem is that you have your money transferred to your Paypal account as soon as you have the required amount. I did not think of this as I would hate to lose my hard earned money for an infraction I don't know about. I trust MyLot to be fair. So far there is no problem and I have accumulated $3.36 in two and a half weeks. The idea is to follow the rules and write good content.

That is also what I'm planning to do, after I reached the required payout, I will transfer it as soon as possible. 3 dollars for 21/2 weeks, wow, I saw one of the mylot user who earns $14 a month. hm~ Well we are busy so to our real work so we can not really earn that much doing this. xD

I think you just need to wait because it doesn't mean that it's the next day to you it would be the next day with MyLot as well. There are times when the refreshing of the earning points would be different, so be patient. Further, I have been with this site for a long time now and they don't fail to pay up your earning, provided you have followed all the rules and regulations. By the way, I am presuming that this post would be deleted soon because it's against the rules "Grievances on MyLot" hehe.. But still, it's good that you've seen our opinion being one of those who have been here a long time. Anyway, don't think too much. Just discuss your heart out and you'd see the returns soon. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Oh geez. Ok for starters, Yel812, just look around you at the other members here. Some of us have been here for 6 years or better. Now would we still be here if Mylot was a scam? It's NOT a scam. As for your pay...you say you were posting yesterday and last night? ok well, Mylot only does their payments once a day. Get back on here and check again in a few hours and I'll bet you will see your pay for last nights work. I don't know about the 2 cents but for some reason, mine has jumped a penny or two randomly as well at times. If you responded under discussions that go against guidelines then yes, you will lose a little bit if that discussion gets removed. Don't stress over it as it happens to all of us. Sometimes it's hard to know for sure what is and is not within guidelines. I think I may know the user who mad a discussion about not getting payment. There is an unusual mix up with he account and she is trying to get it straightened out. These things do happen sometimes but very rarely. Administration are human so there are bound to be some mistakes if in fact that's what the problem is. I will say that I've been here over 5 yrs and they have also always worked with me on any problems I've encountered and taken the time to explain anything to me that perhaps I didn't understand. Honestly, If you have a problem with Mylot, rather than type a discussion where you might get all sorts of misinformation along with the correct information then you really should just contact Administration where they will answer your questions.

Even vets cannot avoid such things -deletion of response/comment -deletion of discussion But, I haven't read or haven't had a problem that Mylot does not pay, or miss to pay any member. I have been here for almost 4 years and I was never been miss to paid each time I reached the payout. So- if ever, or whoever started a discussion that he/she's not been paid Mylot I think is just a scammer trying to create intrigue here. I do not and will never believed that MyLot ever missed to pay any single member here- I would rather believed if everyone is not paid at the same time- which never happened and hope will never happen. I can't imagine life without MyLot :p
