Are people like trees?

I listened to a sermon today which was based on a Bible verse from Psalm 1 verse 3 in which a good man is described as 'like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit, whose leaf does not wither and who prospers'. Does this describe you or someone you know? If you were to compare yourself to a tree what kind of tree would it be?

I believe what the bible said. But honestly, at this point, I feel like a cactus which is strugling to live in the dessert. I need the Water of Live to give me strength because the situation around me now seems not good :(

Do you know how to find that Water? I'm sorry that times are dry and hard just now but if your answer to my question is 'yes' then you will get through. If it is 'no' then send me a private message and I will try to help.

Hello combedaleroad, the Bible also says that faith is like that little grain of mustard tree. I think I would be a mustard tree, because my faith began just like that, very small. I wasn´t a believer. I got catholic baptism when I was 22, and since then many good things had happened to me. I began church ministry, attending masses, having sacraments, praying, studying the Bible, I got married, I have three children. There has been 17 years since then, up today. We changed from city, my hubby, our children and me ten years ago, my mommy moved here two and a half years ago, and my brother and her wife moved here two weeks ago. So I feel like a mustard tree. That opens it`s branches to nest birds. I should never loose my ministry, the basepot of my faith. Blessings combedaleroad... dainy

If I were a tree, I think that instead of having branches sticking out, I think I'd have branches that form a web. Like limbs splitting up, and reconnecting with other limbs/branches at the ends. I always feel that I have a lot of things going on at the same time, and instead of one place, I could be at different places at the same time. I could be in one end of a tree/branch, and at the other end at the same time.

Tress are more useful for others. Trees give shades, firewood, fruits, flowers etc. Human being are useful only for themselves and their close people. I am one among them. I stand very low in comparison to trees.

I believe it describes man that God had created. It should describe all of us well. As God had always wanted Adam and Eve to be fruitful. Just like the trees that bears so many fruits from time to time. We are suppose to have children and spreads the love of God to every corner of the world. Yet, it can never be achieved if man fights among each other like what they are doing currently.

Psalm 1:1-3 is one of my favorite Bible passages. Psalm 1:1-3 American Standard Version (ASV) 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers: 2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. I want to be that kind of person, always taking in spiritual water by reading God's word daily. I also want to produce good spiritual fruitage (Galatians 5:22-23) so that I can nourish others spiritually. A truly beautiful passage!

Hello 41combedaleRoad greetings. Trees are wonderful. They bear fruits not for itself but for others. A tree is likened or personified to a person who is ALWAYS willing to serve, unselfish and loving. I wish I could compare myself to a tree, but I can't.
