Rough morning

Woke up at 6, and the light was on downstairs. I wasn't sure if somebody had left one on, or if someone was up early. When I came downstairs to feed the cats, there was Dearra. She's never up early, but I asked her if she had been up before 6. "It's my stupid anxiety." Today she is going to "Point Break", which is some kind of a "be all that you can be" kind of a program. She signed up for it, but she ended up getting nervous about it. I think it will probably be really good for her. We had to drop her off early, and as we got closer to the school, I could see her getting nervous. Fortunately, the car is loaded with napkins and plastic bags, so when she started vomiting, she didn't get most of it on herself. I dropped her off, and she went to the bathroom to clean up before getting on the bus. I felt like a traitor for leaving her, but I know it's best to just let her go and deal with it. I'm sure she's pretty much forgotten all about it by now. My stomach is having sympathy pains though. How was your morning?

After working until midnight last night, I had to be back at work at 6 am. Work is fairly easy, it is about the same as being a mom, only to adults. Throw a little medical stuff in on top of it and you get the picture. Since last night was short and I am going with a friend to the "Taste of Home" cooking show tonight, I am going to bed. The night shift I basically was doing a favor, the morning shift is my regular. Poor Dearra. I bet she will learn to get the better of it.

I had done pretty much when I woke up at 4am (which is the usual time I get up). Did breakfast for my kids, cleaned the living room and bedroom, did the laundry and now am enjoying my time with MyLot while waiting for my youngest to come home in about 3 hours.

I feel for Dearra! I never got to the point of throwing up, but I remember those butterfly feelings in my stomach (and saying butterfly is an understatement!). I hope the program ends up being something cool for her and she enjoys it! Let's see. Thursday is college day at my daughter's school, so I went to the local college bookstore to go get a shirt or badge. Gasp - the high prices - there's no way I was going to pay that for one wear. So while we were there, my son got to feed the ducks and turtles at the pond. Then we hit up JoAnne's and got some letters that I can iron them on a shirt for $3 - to make it look like a college shirt. Then we went to Walmart to snag some cookie samples and play around with the Halloween stuff. Then we went to the 99cent store - and a Goodwill as they have there Halloween stuff out. Now we're eating linguine and clams from Trader Joes - before we pick up my daughter from school (early day). Oh, and the day ain't over yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I  answer now that here in Italy is now evening, because are the hours 20.35. My day today was a bit unusual from the usual, this is because I decided to leave in the morning just to go back to a Pareto countryside, a village of 'hinterland of Liguria (Italy). So this morning I had to prepare my suitcase for the start, and everything needed for my five-day stay, in fact my decision to come back for the next Sunday, September 30. This time my best friend Amgelo, unfortunately, there is not. I'm alone, I start to get used to it to make me more self-sufficient.

I sympathize with you a lot. On my side I had a good morning. After some exercise I took coffee, prayed and went to job.

Well, how did it go? I have been having stomach pains, but I wonder why... I whispered to the roomie I was afraid I was working on another "pre-ulcer" but I didn't want "D" to hear about it or she'd develop one!

Hi Dawn, I really am behind in discussions and I don't really remember my morning even yesterday and surely not a week ago. I did raise 4 daughters though and I do recall many, many times when my tummy had those sympathy pains and I was torn between rescuing and letting them deal. My thing is that I wanted to raise them to be independent so I kind of usually (almost always) backed off and let them resolve and deal with situations on their own. They always knew I had their back if needed. Right now my little 18 yr old is in Vegas and really struggling. She wanted to see the world and that's where she started...of all places!! Last week she called and asked if I could please "loan" her 7.00 for a bag of bagels that would last her till payday. Ok so I put a bit more than that in her account. I don't want her living off bagels for a week. Had it been something like a haircut or makeup, I may have thought twice and yep still felt that familiar tummy pain. Gotta love em! you are a good mom!

My biggest anxiety attacks come when I have something I have to do that I do not know what will happen or what the outcome may be. Too bad she got sick but that is part of it. Poor kid! Well, mom it is something she will never overcome if she doesn't go forward and meet her fears. Hard on us parents though. My morning was fighting with my grandson to get him to get dressed and get out to the bus stop. I hate it so badly. But I lived through it, he caught the bus and we live on to another day.

I was the same Dawn as I would throw upand have diarrhoea. Eventually, we learn to cope and hopefully, this course that she signed up for will help her to do that. It is awful being nervous but I developed the skills to operate in any and every social situation and she will too. She must be glad that she has you for a Mom We Moms always suffer with our children - it's par for the course

Holly had the same problem, much worse, for years, and no parental support to speak of. Dearra was fine once she got there, even made a new friend.

I was so very tired this morning. You know, I went to bed early last night (for me) and I thought that today was going to be a good day, but it was so dreary this morning that it was making me really, really sleepy. However, I was able to get where I needed to go and back. The big thing for me this morning was my meeting with the orthopedic surgeon. I was so very nervous about that, but it really didn't turn out to be something that was too terribly bad.

Sorry your little kiddo was sick...sometimes we let ourselves go to a situation that we think we want to be in but as the time gets closer...we start to freak out a bit! But she did get through it and that is what is important! :} As far as my day...what can I say...retired in paradise and only s couple of more days until I get paid!
