Why are there so many time wasters here on mylot?

Don't get me wrong, I am not talking about you who try to take an active part in discussions and hope to earn some extra money. I am talking about the several 'silly' (for want of a better word) people who accept tasks and waste my time by either providing plagiarised content, or do not even bother to read instructions. Besides wasting their time they waste mine, and reduce my willingness to post tasks. Besides they also make tasks inavailable to other mylotters who might have been able and willing to accept and complete the task properly. I just cannot stand these people. It is not fair for me and not fair for other decent mylotters either.

I'm pretty convinced that, when people are accepting tasks that pay them 1 or 2 cents, if approved, they really don't care all that much if they follow instructions or submit correct content. They bang out a reply as fast as possible and move on to the next task on the list. Ultimately, they probably accept whichever rewards they do get and it's no skin off their collective noses for the ones that are rejected. Personally, I have always been a strong advocate for the tasks section here. I believe it has the potential to be more than what it is. I used to work in it daily and there were several months when I earned in the hundreds of dollars for my work. I only accepted writing tasks that had proven to be reliable and where I had seen, from experience, that I was being consistently approved. Earnings were in the range of $2.50 to $5.00 per task and that made it worth my time to sit and produce good work. I freely admit that I will skip over any tasks that pay a cent or two because I do other things in the same amount of time that compensate me better. Having said that, I do apply myself to any task I accept -- whether it's at myLot or on other sites. I follow the criteria to the letter and, in return, expect I will be approved and compensated. I refuse to be one of those "fly by" taskers that is trying to accept as many tasks as possible and "settles" for whichever ones do get approved.

It would be nice if all people took the time to follow instructions to the letter like you. I agree that tasks paying 1 or 2 c are not worthwhile. But the tasks I put up are not like those. They are generally quick short rewrites that should only take 10-15mins max. At times I put up articles as well. Unfortunately I even found people who thought that somebody would pay them to RETYPE rather than rewrite a task. It is silly really - what would anyone need an exact copy for? This is how far people's stupidity goes. I also agree with you that the tasks section here could be greatly improved and i discussed this more than once here in the past. It is a pity as mylotters could generate more earnings and cashout more quickly.

... and I thought it was my fault lol. I had two workers which didn't provide a link as required. So I thought I had done something wrong while editing the task, maybe the text box didn't work properly? (see my latest discussions). The thing is, the two who ''completed'' the task did both not provide a link. So I thought what's more likely: my own fault or they somehow having the same intention to cheat. I decided for the former. Now that you post the very same issue I suppose it was the latter. I think that the Mylot task system is a VERY nice and sophisticated system as it has worked for me in the past when I accepted tasks. Unfortunately the best system doesn't work properly if there are people who don't play to the rules by intention. I've returned the tasks to both so they may correct them but now I guess that won't happen and I'll probable ban/ reject them if I don't get a feedback from them. I'm new as a task creater so I don't know if the available slots will be updated to the original number of slots but that certainly would be nice. Cheers

it is really great to read your comment. as a fellow task creator you got what I mean of course and you made me glad and reassured that I was not the one who was wrong then! It is really sad to see time being wasted and opportunities lost. I really do my best to give clear instructions and to explain everything as best as I can to reduce the possibility of getting the task taken by incapable or irresponsible people. There are only a small percentage of mylotters who offer decent work sadly! This is really making me feel distressed and I am reducing the number of tasks I put up here as a result. And probably it is one of the reasons why there are not so many tasks available to choose from.

another option is -- go through the discussions/responses/comments/replies of a few members. You can easily identify people who are capable of writing good passages. Then you can make offer to them --out of 100 probably 10 will take it up and 3 of them out of ten may do it rightly. You cannot expect an environment wherein 10 out of 10 can be achieved,. The wastage has to be accounted for in the profit margin you keep for selling the articles.

grkelly the remuneration paid is less for many tasks. if you pay $2 or more for 500 words article you may get good writers. In fact I did a year ago six articles on one day--three were accepted and three were rejected on the ground plagiarised .($2.50 per article) But to my conscience i never did copying. i cannot blame myself or the initiator also.

Dear ravisivan...Another point you might not be aware of is that task creators have to pay a 20% fee per task.

Well, I think that your own avatar can give you the answer to the question that you ask; it is because they have dollar signs in their eyes, all they are thinking about is the money, not the task itself. It is too bad that people try to do things in a slap-dash and incorrect manner and then try to get full credit for it, but some people will do anything for money, we all know that.

Yes but making money online does not mean that one has to be unfair or careless. i make it clear every time that if the task is not completed according to the detailed instructions I provide it will be rejected. So what is the use of accepting it in the first place! They know they will not get paid if they do not abide by the rules! It is senseless!

Its a fact people want money for nothing. That is why this happens of course! I wonder if it is allowable to report them for this? I don't think it is but maybe it could be a good idea. If at least they are repeat offenders of this sort of thing. That way the tasks won't be used up by these people who really don't care to do them.

Yes we have the option of rejecting the task + banning that individual. It is a good option and sadly I had to use it more tahn once. But they make you do it.

I have read the whole discussion and I have come to a point that I see many are with you in this but i am saying it is not time wasted for the writers or initiators because they have tried. and if you do not like it you have the right to reject it but not degrade their knowledge to write. It is sad.

Degrade their knowledge to write? - what do you mean?

unfortunately, there will always be some whom you call time wasters here. putting up a task and accepting anonymous bidders to do the task has inherent risks. many people in mylot are looking for some bucks. if they can get it the easy way, they will do it. i think it is better if you approach individual members whom you know can write well. in this way, you do away with the time wasters in your life.

Yes you are right. In fact that is what I do, but I still put up some on mylot from time to time and because it is something I feel good at doing as some people here commented about the fact that few tasks are available. So I like to help mylotters to increase their earnings a bit by giving my contribution this way. There are some nice people here to use this opportunity well, but unfortunately many others are getting on my nerves!

Honestly I can say that this is something that I knew nothing about. I guess this is because of the fact that I am here to have discussions with other people and for that reason I never even look at the tasks section of the site. That said, I have no clue why there are so many people that aren't putting there everything into the tasks that they are attempting to complete. I would assume that these are the same kinds of people that will post a new discussion and then just abandon the discussions that they've started.
