I was always taught and found with experience that I need to wash the towels in a different load then the clothes. It is ok to wash the pajama's,socks and underwear with the towels. Do you do the same?

I try to wash just towels with towels. I certainly do not wash towels with anything that would show lint. I will wash the towels with sheets though.

Hi GardenGerty,Me too,but we do not have a large enough load for towels. And too big of a load for clothes. This jerk of a landlord times my stuff in the dryer and opens the door when he feels that is long enough. He goes through our clothes too and decides if that particular kind of material has been in the dryer long enough.

oh my gosh thats a jerk of a landlord. when we were in one apt. complex some really irritating jerk of a tenant would come and if my clothes were some of them dry just d mp the whole load ofn top of another washer and dump his clothes in the dryer. so when I came expecting to find my clothes all dry I had half of a wash load still way too wet and had to pay for another dryer time to get them all dry. but he had no compunction in leaving his washed clothes sitting in the washer for several hours while others needed to use the washing machine. we got so we dumped his wet clothes out and used the washing machine . this seemed to have taught him to leave our clothes alone in the dryers.Oh that would make me mad to have a landlord go through my clothes like that. I suppose if you complained it would go into deaf ears?

Yes, i always telling our laundrywoman to separate the towels from the clothes when washing, in the washing machine. Towels, would always produce some remnants , so it would be best that they be washed separately. But i wash my husband and child's underwear, everyday when i am in the bathroom. We don't let them be washed by the laundrywoman.

Hi SIMPLYD,Doesn't your laundrywoman already know better?

Yes , i think so. Being a laundrywoman for many years , she is already knowledgeable about these things. However, it is customary for us owners to remind her so as to be sure that it is what she is really doing. We have to be assured that it's what she does.

I do towels and washrags and kitchen towels in a load by themselves. Whites in another load. Picks, reds, purples and oranges in another. My sons school khakis in another load. Jeans and darker colors in another load. My work uniforms always went in a load by themselves as well.

Yes, I seperate clothes by their colours primarily - a white wash or a dark wash. Bed linen and towels are done seperately too and then I have a mixed wash for coloured clothes. It has always made sense to me and I do not wash a load unles it is a full load. This is not difficult with three adults and two children living in one house in a hot country.

Then with the exception of the dark clothes, I would put the whole lot in one load and pray hard. Blessings

I was taught that as well, as soon as I went to college that went down the drain. I threw everything in one load (it would save me a lot of money).

Hi Ricki,Didn't the lint from the towels stick to your clothes?

Nope, never had a problem. Once I forgot a kleenex in my pocket, and had to pick the pieces off my towels. I don't use dryer sheets either as they give me rashes.

I seperate my whites from coloreds. I use to do towels and was cloths in one load when I had kids or when they're new. But now I put them in with jeans and colored.

I've never had any problems with lint sticking to my jeans, maybe it's because I hang my clothes outside?

If we didn't have to pay at the laundromat, I'd definitely wash towels, socks and underwear separately. I prefer to do those in hot water to kill any germs. And then all of my clothes I'd wash in cold water, not only to save money, but because it was better for the fabrics. I do try to dry them separately too-the towels can take forever!

I do always separate bath and room accesories from my clothes when I'm washing them. My wash tub is not that big that's why I separate big sizes from small sizes. I also separates colored from white clothes.

I separate everything. Towels take longer to dry and can leave lint on clothing. They also have different handling requirements than regular clothing. I wash my clothing very carefully so as not to have it faded and worn prematurely.

i like to separate them as they are vital because personal utensils cant be mixed up with ordinary clothes for sure

I think, it is necessary to segregate the clothes, especially with white and different colors. So we can prevent the staining the other clothes. Good day!

I guess it's just whatever you prefer. I think think putting them together can do any damage so I don't see why not. As for me I separate my clothes as my Mom taught me to. Colored clothes go in one pile, whites in another, towels in one, & sheets & blankets in another. But like I said it is whatever you prefer or whatever way you were taught rather.

i tend to go by size and the delicateness of the material. small items and delicate material go together. i also use a laundry bag for the bras. big thick towels and jeans go together.

you can,but i separate them simply because towels often leave fuzzies on things. nobody wants fuzzy underwears.

hi yes dfollin I think our moms taught us well. I always separated the towels and sheets from the clothes and also I separated colored clothes from others too after several disasters with a white tee shirt streaked with red dye and some blue d enim d e. of course now days you seldom find colored clothes that lose some dye in the wash.here all I do is put my dirty clothes in the basket and they wash them each Friday f or me. oh lord I am treated like a princess and do not really think I am because of my age incapable of making my own bed.but they tell me its their job so I get to do more m ylotting lol he he.

I always separate clothes according to colors and texture. Underwears are washed separately. Same with towels, I always washed towels separate from the other garments to avoid damaging the fabric.

I separate white from colored clothes as well. the whites go first (normally that is my son's clothes and my white clothing as well) and then here comes the colored shirts followed by the shorts then the pants. Towels and beddings have a separate laundry schedule for me. As for the socks, I wash them immediately after I use them.

Hi dfollin. I personally separates the dirtiest cloth from the cleanest. Like for example, the handkerchiefs and face towels (We use it on our face). Then the towels (Heavy load and we sometimes wipe it on our hands; for some on their face too). The curtains (It has a lot of dusts). The bed sheets since it's also a heavy cloth; I separate it from the pillows. Then the upper clothes from bottoms. Of course, the white from colored ones. Too much separating right? But I prefer to do it to prevent my clothes from getting damaged for both the color and the appearance in terms of it size.
