Three years ago, President Benigno Aquino III was just the son grieving for the demise of his mother, the Philippines'pride, Corazon Aquino. The Filipinos saw a quiet son, unassuming, courteous, civil, politely acknowledging the visitors who paid their last respects to Citizen Cory, who, a quarter century back in time, a martyr's widow who became the president of the republic. The morning after his mother was laid to rest, tarpaulins and streamers hanged on the streets and byways, suggesting that Noynoy be president. Many, I am sure, thought What?, as I did, but when the thought registered, and in mine, just a matter of seconds, I knew the answer to my prayers had been answered. Perhaps there was no one ever more shocked than Noynoy himself, for all he wanted, as his mother did, was for him to marry someone he would fall in love with. Gosh, it is his destiny, as Jose Rizal had his, and the others who had gone before, including his own father, Benigno Aquino, Jr, to fall in love with our motherland and serve her. So he did! Three years ago, the Philippines was as shabby as garbage scattered on the roads. Now, our thoroughfares show we can be a clean and disciplined people. Of course, there is much to be done yet, but hey, even if the typhoons are battering us left and right, we see a President who loves us. This President recently spoke bravely against neighboring China on its claim over a piece of our backyard, the shoal. This President bows to no one, except us, his people, as we see him sad, because of the staggering number of casualties from the storm down South. The people are satisfied with the President's performance. This is the news: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/almost-halfway-his-term--aquino-still-getting-high-ratings-085813139.html Three more years, before we feel fully the fruits of the President's labor. And a few more years, for history to judge him. But let me say this now... Thank you, Ninoy and Cory, right now, we have a great President in the making.

So father, mother, and now their son all became presidents, right? It'd be the same in the States if Hillary Clinton ever becomes president and her only daughter, Chelsea, would follow her parents footsteps.

This also happened with the Bush Administration. The first who ran was the father and then the son followed to become the next president after sometime. Well it happens I guess especially when you are in a very small country like ours.

Who new that even in the US, there’s a political dynasty of some sort? I don’t think Chelsea will run in politics. I think she had enough when her father was embroiled in a scandal. That, in my opinion and for me, is enough to make me run away. I think it started with the Kennedys and then with Bush. I just wish this wills top in this country…and that means no Bam Aquino either.

Oh no, sishy7, late Ninoy Aquino (father of President Noynoy Aquino) was not a president. He is a senator who became one our National Heroes for standing on his ground to fight for the democracy in the country. He was imprisoned for fighting against the reigning president during that time, and was assassinated upon returning to his country.

It is true that there is still much to prove, moreover, President Noynoy had proven himself well and have nothing against him. I love his mother and pay respect to her. I already knew then that Noynoy will be different. I hope he continue this and bring the country to success.

Last election, I made a right vote for President Ninoy Aquino. He is a good president for me. No issues about corruptions. He is just an example of a mother Cory and Ninoy.

I totally agree, eileen. Amidst all the criticisms of some parties, in my opinion, PNoy is doing good. And indeed he is so brave in saying his contradiction to China's claim to the shoal. He has to do that because no one dared to defy that in their summit. I salute him for that.

He makes good choices of people to place on significant seats in the cabinet, who are well able to do their job. What I'm wondering is, why his publicists didn't make much noise about the good things that are happening in Philippine economy during his term. The recent news on Philippines becoming a lender internationally has been there for some time now, but it was only recently that I heard talks about it in the media.

Way back then, I was very sure of voting him. He had parents who made history for Philippines, so for sure, he won't let them down nor bring shame to his family. He's human and he'a a politician, he can't clean all the mess that was done by previous administration for those people still possess money and power. But from what and how we saw our economy, he truly did great. I never believed in those survey things because we know success can be seen after hardworkds. Now that he sign-up for the RH Bill, the result may not be seen right away but in future I hope the citizens will benifit from it.

All I see right now is a person doing his job as was expected of him. I don't see any extraordinary actions from Noynoy yet. If this keeps up till the end of his term then he would have served his country as he should have, and that will give him an OK rating in my book.

To have a leader who did his job and and made our country move forward is for me extraordinary these days. It's very seldom to meet politicians who are doing the right jobs and not only extracting money from their country. Maybe not totally honest because he is still politician and there are others whom he should play games with, but at least he's not fooling us right in our face like others did.

I just hope he could maintain this good standing in economy and his reputation remain clean till the end of his term. I do think he may not be a perfect and idela one but so far I have only seen this vibrance in the economy under the Ramos administration back then. I saw the economy bloomed but unfortunately right before he ended his term it all went back since we were part of the Asian Economic Crisis that somehow affected us and after that it seems we continued the downfall until the GMA administration that lasted two terms. With the economic gains we have been taking I just hope we could sustain this until the end or continue until the next administration will take over. If he could sustain this then I guess I will have to salute his efforts ion doing so. I noticed that for every president the last few years of his term they would usually either fall into some controversy that pulls their gains in the past.

That may be true but if he chose to do the same thing as the former administration was doing then maybe this milestone in our economy may not be seen today. Even the International community is also feeling the changes that has so far been implemented these past 2-3 years. The business community is quite and looks satisfied with how the present administration is doing. Stock market is reacting quiet bullishly on it which is an indication that what the government is doing is favorable for money to be invested there. All of these are just a few of the indicators that could prove that what the present administration is doing is on the right track. There are obstacles along the way of course, like the cabinet members who are treated as VIPs and some controversies that sprout here and there but so far the President remains steadfast and so far is not yet put in a situation like the first couple of the former administration was doing then. All I can see right now is that media is more interested in discovering the love life of the president which looks like bleak at the moment. But with regards to major money controversies I still could not find one that would topple the president's reputation. The Arroyo Administration stayed for 9 long years they should have done many great things for the economy then why only now it was being felt if it is really GMA's achievements that the present administration is enjoying. It could be that the former was on the right track but because they were doing something fishy behind this that the economy, business sector and the international community was not feeling the improvement over the last 9 years.

I don't think Noynoy could have just raised it up and put the country simply back on the map. there was surely contributions that was done by the arroyo administration which the media didn't report on. Instead her administration was marked with so many bad news. anyways, he should just keep it up, it's what was expected of him to do

Well, there is to much to be done. I do hope that Noynoy will be able to do it well and bring our country back on track. We have been beset by corruption and this comes down all the way up in our system. I do see changes and these are good. I wish our president luck and I hope the people will cooperate. This will only work if we all together will support.

The media has seen being bias before so therefore i don't believe it. he's just another guy doing a job of what every President should be doing in their administration. well, good he's doing what the taxpayers are paying him to do. I hope future President would really start doing their jobs seriously and stop politicking.

Right on the money, letran! Remember that the media always chooses sides, even it isn’t the real statesman. The real ones are usually mocked and left behind or even biased against. That happens in particular every country in the world.

All I can see from Pnoy is an old spoiled brat who does not know how to act as a respected president and whose tongue is more malicious than a "bading". I don't see any good changes during his reins, all i can see are more economic burdens from common people. During his term, our electricity rate catalpulated to the highest in the world! LRT and MRT rate will go up next year and many more. I don't believe in any survey specially coming from Pulse Asia where one of his relative is manipulating the survey to influence the thinking of Filipino people. Don't be blinded by their good manipulation and his suppose to be high rating doesn't mean he has great things done for the common "tao" and to our nation. I am so sad seeing you comparing him to Rizal, what? Pardon me but I can't see any comparison. All his supposed economic achievement, I am sorry to says comes from the labor of his predecessor whom he blame for everything... INGRATO! He is an oligarch and is for oligarch and will stay an oligarch. Our economy suffered because of Cory's oligarch Constitution. They don't want foreign capitals here so they can easily control and manipulate the economy and make the people more poor and easily controlled and manipulate. No thanks for this oligarch and dynastic family.
