Jack cat, our new stray who is becoming a house cat, had his first time outside since we got him about two months ago. It's very cold today so I thought if we let him out he wouldn't stay long. Of couse we never let him out of our sight and pretty soon it was snowing. He walked all around the house on the outside and would not even look at us, then he reached his limit and told us he was ready to come in. All in all I think it was a very good first time out. Happy New Year to all of you.

Our cat gets in and out whenever she wants. I made a cat hole for her to jump out as well as to jump in anytime she so desires. That's her reward for keeping rats and mice away...

Having a cat or a dog is really a nice thing. They could bring excitements to you when you were depressed. And there would be a warm feeling flowing into your heart when you have exhausted yourself the whole day. I had raised a cat, whose fur was so smooth that I loved him so much.I spent every day happily playing with him. There was full of fun in the period. He would sleep with me in my bed during the cold winter, which my mom scolded me of the seemed wrong action. But I knew he must be very cold out of my bed.And I prefer to considering that he liked being there with me.On the other hand,he couldn't be more naughty enough. He would pawed the wood in the yard, chased the butterfly, played with the wool ball, dozed off in the sun and raced with me after his good sleep. It was so funny, wasn't it?

My youngest is a house cat, and he was once a feral kitten, but he didn't like the outside world, and he did anything and everything he needed to do to become domestic. It didn't take him long. He has gone out before every once in a while, but he still doesn't like the outside world because he has bad memories of what happened to him. When he was a feral kitten, he slept in the cold, he didn't always get fed, and he always felt like he had to protect his three siblings. He decided that he didn't want to live outside, and he would come to our front door everyday and beg for food. My mother and I could not ignore his pleas, and one of my oldest cats brought him to our house so that we could feed him, and his siblings. My mother and I fed them when we could, and we fed them as much as we could, but with Lucky in particular, we hand fed him, petted him, and began teaching him how to be a house cat, and sure enough, he came around, and he became a house cat. He doesn't want to go outside. He doesn't like it. Then again, my mother and I fear that this cat has human in him. The way he has been behaving lately makes us wonder if this cat may have had a past life of some kind.

It's always good to hear from Jack. Sounds like he's becoming accustomed to being a house cat. Even though he wasn't looking at you, he knew you were there. He's not going to wander now that he's got it made. Smart cat. After all, he chose where he wanted to live, huh?

It's great that Jack can enjoy his time with you. I've never seen snow until now because I live in tropical country but it'll be snowing soon huh? So of course it's better for Jack to come to the house, since it'll be freezing right outside and he may feel too cold to be outside. Jack has satisfied his time to be outside so now he was going to the house for the warmth.

So Jack is settling in more? I think he was just having teething problems, I am wondering did you give him a 'Christmas stocking' and a Christmas dinner? We have this beautiful stray tabby that comes to see us and he got his Christmas dinner, roast turkey on Christmas Day and a few sausages! I think he went round to our neighbours to get second helpings! You can't help but love him, However I think he must have let on to the other cats in the neighbourhood, on Christmas Eve there was this beautiful ginger cat sitting on our doorstep. But no, he didn't get a Christmas dinner LOL. I swear cats tell others of the places they get food from!

I am glad Jack had his moments and decided it was enough excitement. We have two cats that will not go out in the cold for anything and then we have one that has to go out daily, regardless. She comes back as well. In her opinion she runs the household and the yard as well. She must make her daily rounds of the outdoors.

Doesn't the cat feel cold outside? My dogs couldn't stand the tropical heat and often ask to be let in by scratching on the door to get our attention. They like to relax right under the fan. But at night they prefer to sleep in their cage outside the house which is more airy. I have six dogs but only two young ones are allowed inside the house.vav

He had a long adventure in the cold huh? My dogs run out and then streak back in. It has actually gotten pretty cold here.

thats great, its good for both cats and dogs to go outside and in when they want. My tootsie is an inside dog, and my cat an outside cat. But now and then they both want in and out. Sometimes I think the cat comes in wash room to get out of the wet and cold. Take care there. See you here soon...
