What makes a friend into a good friend?

A good friend will always be there. A good friend will support your decisions even if they don't agree with them. A good friend will not let you drive drunk. A good friend will answer the phone when you call, because they don't know if that's the last time they will ever hear from you again. A good friend will stand by your side at all times and will know the right time to step in. We all need good friends in our lives. A good friend is honest, trustworthy, and willing to share his life with you too.

Well, I, in my life, I've had to deal with many people. Some of them I thought was a true friend, but I was wrong count on them! They eventually turned out to be the momentary acquaintances, far speech to compare  with true friends! Today, true friends, and I emphasize the word "real", I have only three! I'd better few but good. With these people I'm perfectly okay, and I'm glad they have with me, a relationship of mutual trust friendly.

For me, there are acquaintances, friends category, good friends and best friends. Acquaintances are those whom i already know by name, i have met them for a brief time, we have been introduced but we never really have spent time together to have some good talks. A friend is someone who i can have a good chat with, but never personal... we can talk about anything, spend time together and have lunch or dinner every so often but they are not aware of what my favorites are, what makes me irk, what i am going through in life... and of course good friends are those whom i have spent a little more time with like a friend, a good friend to me already knows something about my life, a bit personal, we can tell each other secrets and expect them to be kept and between us alone... Best friends are those i have been with since i was younger, but i can consider a good friend my best friend too if that person has been with me through thick and thin, that we have already went through several things and we still are best of friends.

Hi jricky We find many friends in our life but we get only few good friends according to me a friend can be called as a good friend when he /she has some qualities like supporting our goals and us and says no to do any kind of thing if he finds a fault in it.A good friend sticks with you at good times as well as bad times so on .

Hi friend, True and real friends are always like a great treasure. We must be very lucky to have them. Our true friends are like our shadow and they will follow us anytime even it is good or bad. This real friends always stand for us and do anything for our sake. It is very hard to determine and explain the value of a real friend. In this modern days, it is really hard to see a true and real friend. But still some people are existing in this sort. But we must search them hard. I have some good friends in my life, they are always supporting me and help me whenever i need it from them. In the same way, i am helping them whenever they require it from me. This kind of mutual help are quite common in true friendship. A real and true friend never expect anything from his friend and do a lot of favor for his sake. In fact the activity of this kind of real friends will create a great impact in our mind and we are ready to do any favor for them without asking them. I have one best friend in this sort and always i consider him as my own brother. But few years back he betrayed and back stabbed me. After that incident, i lost my faith with real friends and always keep certain distance from all my friends. We must be very careful with our friends. If you have a good friend from your childhood till today and he is loyal to you, then never give up him for any cause.

A friend can really be trusted and must be there through thick and thin, ups and downs. He must not be a traitor or back fighter. True friends are real wealth. Happy New Year!

I've been my own best friend for almost 80 years. When I was young I was not always my own best friend, because I was making some embarrassing mistakes, and I hated myself afterwards. However as time went on I began turn into my own best friend because I had learned not to do those stupid things.

honesty and loyalty along with setting a good example and being there for friends in their time of need is what makes a good friend. Their is also a strong mutual respect that must exist between friends.

We humans are such users. I know that most of my friends are only my friends because a) they have things I need to use and/or b) I have things they can use ... if we can't use each other, we end up associating with each other less-&-less. Oh! What a World! What a World!
