Where are my slippers?

My slippers - one is missing!

I got a pair of terry cloth slippers from my daughter for Christmas. They are the kind that has a rubber sole with grippers and are very comfortable. Last night when I got into bed I took them off and left them beside my bed...I do this every night. This morning when I went to put them on there was only one there. I've looked everywhere and their no where to be found. Of course one of my cats took them but where did they put them? Their not under my bed or anything in my bedroom! I've looked in other rooms and no luck! What do your pets steal from you that you then can't find? Do you end up finding them or are they gone forever? lol...

That's unusual for cats as they don't tend to hide things, not as much as dogs do, certainly with our cats they would be far more interested in catching the local wildlife and bringing them back into the house, than hiding inanimate objects that didn't move when they pawed them. Although having said the youngest Octavia would have this habit of pulling of the Christmas decorations and chasing them around the room. A few months after Christmas we were having a clean up and I found one of the blue baubels that was unaccounted for, right at the back of the sofa!

My cats love to hide things on me. There is always a pen or lighter missing and I eventually find them under something. I don't know where that slipper can be!

I like Sherlock Holmes' theory 'when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth' you could apply that to your missing slipper, look for slipper in impossible areas of your home first!

I have the same problem about missing slippers. However, it's not our pet who is the culprit but my son who happens to like my slippers so much that he uses it ever so often. So whenever I get home from work, my slippers isn't where I left them but somewhere else in our house if not on his feet.

Your slippers are probably hidden with my hair things. I don't use rubber bands to hold my hair back, I buy the "scrunchy" type stuff that doesn't break the hair. I have bought around three hundred of the darned things because they keep disappearing. I see them occasionally in the cat's mouth, but I haven't found their hiding place. I am sure that I will one day find tons of them in whatever place they hide their prizes, and along with the hair things will be earrings, rings, silverware, bracelets, socks....should I go on? Cats are wonderful tricksters and contrary to popular thought, they do steal and hide things like other critters (ferrets come to mind). If you live as closely with your cats as I do, you discover their inner comic!

Your cats swear innocence. However, let's pretend for a moment that one of them may have "inadvertently" relocated them... Do they have a particular hideout? My male cat loves our closet. Middle cat hangs out on top of the washer/dryer and under the double rocker. Baby cat has claimed a spot on top of a suitcase. My cats wouldn't bother hauling away something quite as large as slippers most likely. However, a few smaller things have "mysteriously" turned up in their favorite spots. I would work my way through the list of kitties' favorite spots--the weirder, the better. Remember to think like a cat. You won't find your slippers if you use human logic.

This is Alphy... - My cats are very big.
My cats are very big so nothing is too big for them to haul away. i've looked everywhere but know it will show up eventually.

My dog use to hide things- but not my cat. Most of the time our dog hides our slippers under his mat. So, the first place we look when something is missing is under his mat.

That's funny! But seeing as how fond you are if your slippers I hope you find the other pair. Anyway, we really don't have pets so nobody can play with my stuff like that. Except for my kid siblings who would borrow my stuff sometimes and will not return it to where it is originally kept.
