When I was at secondary school I tried hard with the subjects that I enjoyed the most like English Literature, English Language, History and Religious Studies. I hated Maths, Science and Physical Education. I did a qualification in Business and Finance Shipping and Transport. I preferred to do that as it was a mixture of course work and exams. If I had done the traditional qualifications it would have been all exams. After my trip around the world I decided I wanted to become a primary school teacher. I decided to retake my Maths exam and do one A Level in English Literature. I got good enough grades in both subjects. I was able to go to university to study Education, English Literature and get qualified teacher status. Later in my life I did a qualification in Travel and Tourism for my own enjoyment. I did a course in Spanish and it is hard to progress more than beginners level. After level 1 there is not a higher course you see. Which subjects did you like in your time in education? Which studies and interests have you had later in your life? Do you believe in lifelong learning?

Interesting...I found science very fascinating...when I was young, especially the topics related to genetics and sulphur extraction processes, and such things..I also like geography...planets and all that ...geography came easily to me...history was also interesting...maths was not. :) I always had a temporary memory for maths ...like...I would be the one that understood the topic and answered in the class, but at home...I couldnt do a single sum in it..it was as if I didnt understand it..I needed it explained differently I guess..as I grew up I was forced into accounts and by god I hated it...it was so dry when compared to sulphur...but Mercantile kept that line interesting...later on computers

My favorite subjects in High School were history and typing. Till today I still love learning about our history and I'm still typing. I also hated math and science. I did end up going to college and took up Business Administration but never graduated due to having too get a job to help support the family. In my 40's I started to write poetry and then moved on too just writing online. I then took a course in children's writing and hopefully one day will write short stories or a children's book.

I hope that you will write some short stories or a children's book. It was great that you took a course in children's writing. I am glad that you loved History when you were at school. Yes, you are happy typing on wonderful My Lot. In the education part of my degree I had to learn how to teach children Science. When I have a Science unit to teach I read up about it. I lack knowledge in Science. I only retook my Maths to be able to get on my degree course.

At school I liked science, particularly biology, maths and hated most of all history; in later life I studied many things and even came to find history fascinating. I would recommend the books by John Prebble to stimulate a persons interest in history all the best, urban

I liked Social Science and Business studies a lot. While I was not so good at other subjects, with hard work; I improved a lot and was able to do a lot on other subjects also.

Like a lot of people, I used to hate math when I was young. It wasn't because I didn't understood it, but it was mostly because I had a teacher who would randomly call us for recitations. And if we were not able to give the right answer after a few times we would have to sing in class. A few years ago, I took up some advanced courses and I had take statistics. I found it really easy.

Nice topic. I like psychology subject. When I was in university, I took business administration major because I need to build my own business in the near future. I found I really interested on marketing subject, while I've never liked it before I enter my high school. But, somehow I still planning for taking a psychology major next time if I have time to start the education.

There were no subjects that I hated because I enjoyed (and still do) learning about a lot of things. I did enjoy history and English, especially Composition, better than the others, though. English and certain types of history are still my favorites. I've made a living with English Composition because I was a full time writer, so it has worked out well for me. I think that when one quits learning, one's mind starts to die.

I always worked hard in all my subject though some were easier than others. I always liked science and math and eventually got a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in physics. In addition I have always loved to read; anything really but I have more Science Fiction than anything else. I have dabbled in trying to write some Science Fiction but haven't really had time to get too far. The last few years I have spent more time on investing since that has been my main source of income. While I believe in life long learning, I haven't gone back to school to learn new subjects; just haven't had the time. Of course the Internet provides many opportunities for independent learning.
