What is your vision of G-d? Is He peaceful or vengeful? Is He Love? Or is He a She? Describe how G-d appears to you.

This is a question that you are going to get multiple answers to. Not one will be right. Lets start by spelling god backwards. Now, seeing that, what does that really mean to you or anyone else. Are we to assume that god lives in every dog we see. Come on people. Look, the bible should translate into fable. There is nothing there that has been proven to be real. Now I am not saying jesus never existed, I am just saying how does anyone know what is written in the bible real? How do we know its not just a story. Look at scientology, that is made up religion, remember the book Dianetics? Thats where that comes from. How do we know that the bible is not just some book of stories from different authors. We don't. I am one person that needs to see, feel and touch it to make sure its real. Otherwise its not.

I understand twin! There is no logical definition for faith. You either have it or you don't.

Actually that is where faith comes into play. You learn things and see what applies most logically. If you are constantly searching and wanting to know the truth, the truth will appear when you are most sincerest, if God wills it. Then you have to make a choice, to please yourself or those around you.

I see God as being love. Whatever suffering people go through in this world and the next, God experiences it more deeply. God loves the original image of his nature that is in each one of us, but is frustrated that due to our own ignorance and smallness of heart he is unable to embrace us more fully. I see God as having both a feminine and masculine essence. On one level, it is the interaction of those aspects within God that bring this universe into being.

Well there are a lot of people making effort to listen to God's voice and comprehend his heart. I think to the extent that we make effort to love God and express that in love for others, we will change and grow, and God's presence will draw closer. It is a long road for most, but worth the effort to go in that direction.

Hi sarahruthbeth, In my opinion God is not a separate identity but one with all that is. All life is one and we are all connected, in other words we are all a part of God. I am not talking about the physical of course because we are not our bodies rather we are all energy and as such we cannot die. Blessings.

amen Pose123! I believe the same. Our souls use many bodies or forms while it is here on earth. Just because we can't remember all these lives does not mean they didn't take place.

God is all about love. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh.. If you believe in God, Jesus Christ is a part of Him, and their is also the Holy Spirit. One God manifested in three ways. --- The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit... If you choose wrong...If you choose Evil. Then you will die....If you choose God--Then you will have everlasting life. Just because you turn from evil, and Choose God's Gift..Does not mean you do not have a good, happy life here on earth The only part of me that i gave up and turned away from was the Evil, and even today i fight against Sin everyday.. When i was born again by accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior, and my heart was filled with the Holy spirit... Is when my eyes where opened, and i realized what i wanted... and that is to have everlasting life with God. I made my choice...You have the right to make the choice that you want. Life is full of choices....I have made some that were not very Good. actually very Bad choices... I have probably broke most of God's laws if not all of them at one time or another. I make no excuses for them...But when i discovered the True meaning of God, and i turned my life over to him is when i felt his love, and i know that i have been forgiven. and i know that if i stumble and fall. He will be their to help pick me back up again. I have more Joy right now in my Heart than i ever have had. Their are only two choices....and that is everlasting life with God....or with Satan... I made my choice....You can make yours. I am Happy and at Peace with my self with the choice i made You be happy with the choice you have made

" Just a slob like One od us. Just a stranger on a bus , on His way home." Joan Osborne. It would be great and tragic all at once. Chances are He would be mugged in some cities and totally ignored in others.

Yes but many don't even know the golden rule. They would see just another mark and would take Him down. It is sad but true.

Yeah but isn't that then point of the song he/she is one of us and we don't know it but also the other point of the song is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

How are you Sarah ? God is merciful, is absolute justice, mercy towards His slaves despite their disobedience to ?His orders .. they make mistakes and forgive them .. Because he knows that they are humans make sins , just wants them to repent when they error forgive them .. Is there most mercy than our Almighty Creator? , Says in the Qur'an: "When those come to thee who believe in Our signs, Say:" Peace be on you: Your Lord hath inscribed for Himself (the rule of) mercy: verily, if any of you did evil in ignorance, and thereafter repented, and amend (his conduct), lo! He is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. "Al-An'aam -54

How can God be both merciful and absolute Justice samar? I'm not disagreeing with you, just want to know what your understanding of this concept is. Does Allah provide a path that will result in mercy, even though He is Just and demands obedience? You mention repentance, that means a turning away from disobedience, right? What does Allah say is disobedience? In my faith, God is also portrayed as both Just and Merciful. So we do have agreement there. But in my faith, God does not expect the same things as Allah. Jesus taught, when asked what was the greatest commandment of God, that to love God with all your being and to love your fellow man as you would love yourself was the greatest and if you did that you had obeyed the whole law. Does Allah expect the same?

God showed us the way that leads us to the good for ourselves and Neil satisfaction with us and this leads us to Paradise , and showed us the other way .. And end by evil known It is God's mercy for us that gave us the right to repent of sins , everyone who commits sin upon that due to God and ask him to forgive his sins, as you know, we are human do sins . "But in my faith, God does not expect the same things as Allah." First: God in English is Allah in Arabic, Muslims, Christians and Jews use the same name in Arabic: Allah. Second: can you explain what you want to say pleas? In Islam the same meaning: Muhammad peace be upon him said in the Hadith "Love to your brother what you love to yourself"

Hello Sara, This is a very interesting question, we Muslims believe that God Almighty have his special name Allah and 99 Holy Names mentioned in the Qura'n, these Holy names are attributes of God. God is Loving, Just, forgiving, ...etc If someone oppressed another, there will be conflict between the two, one is seeking God's forgiveness and the other is requesting God's Justice. everyone of those who believe in God, have his own thoughts about God, God said that He is like what a servant think of Him. I am as My Servant Thinks (expects) I am see Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 130 http://sunnah.com/bukhari/97/130 see also Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 129 http://sunnah.com/bukhari/97/129 see also Sahih al-Bukhari Book 97, Hadith 34 http://sunnah.com/bukhari/97/34

Exactly. I see G-d, Allah , Jesus as a work of art. It is up to the person to intact His Beauty in his own way. G-d Never changes but people's vision of Him does. So it is up to each one of us to pick a version and be fsithful.

God is above the petty things of mankind like ruling, controlling, condemning, judging, anger, hate, wrath, vengeful, and manipulating. God is Unconditional Love with Great Intelligence. God's IQ is so high,we are but mere ants.God works on multiple levels with multiple views. A true conversation with God is a struggle to keep up. One clearly sees that mankind and ourselves carry a very narrow and limited view. I work on mine every day. God has no gender. Gender is a parameter of this physical world. When we are free of our physical bodies, gender will mean nothing to us as well. Everyone is going to really really like God. We are all going to want to be just like Him. Believing has never ever been important to God. Be who you must! It's a part of the plan!!

No way in hell would I want to be like G-d. And the only question I would ask is who pulled the trigger on JFK. So I wouldn't want to just have a chat with G-d! No thanks. So G-d made me to be a little demon. Nice!

I believe that God is a "HE" that he is "Peaceful" and "Loving." I believe he wants the best for all of us. I believe he forgives us for our sins that we commit on earth. However, we will somehow one day pay for thoses sins in some way or other, either here on earth or when we die. Evil people can't get away with being evil in my opinon. So everyone gets their karma whether its good karma or bad karma.

I think HE is very merciful and very wise. I think that the only way HE could let a slob/sinner like me, go on living, and getting by in life is through HIS mercy. And I think HE is very wise. Even though I go through rough patches, in HIS great wisdom, HE knows when to pull me through. And that's when I learn and have appreciation.

My vision of God is perfect true love and he does not have record of wrong doings and so, I believe that he also does not punish people. It is us who commit sin and our hellish life that leads us to hell if we die but, God has nothing to do to us when we go to hell if we have hellish life here on earth. It means he does not punish people.

My vision is all that described in Islam which are all good. All 'bad' things happen also for the good of mankind. In my native language, we sometime regard God as Dia. Dia can be male or female so it is a matter of language that God is referred to be a male. In Islam God is neither male or female. He is beyond what we have ever known because nothing that we know is like Him. Take care my dear Sarah.

Umm...to me, God dwells within me as me. Yeah, I like that line. He's everything in my life. In fact, He's my life. Well, I'm not that religious, I do sinful things, but my heart belongs to God. I know He's up there watching me, and I know that I will get punishment for the bad things I do, but that won't stop me from being human. To help me and remind me to be better everyday, yes. But to make me too religious so that I won't do this and that as the matter of learning, no.

All around the world there are a number of religions and all of these religions have different Gods...but one thing that is common among all these Gods is that all such gods resemble the people that they are worshipped by. Be it Allah or Yahweh or Vishnu each reflect the culture of the societies that revere them as Gods. The rituals and practices of all the religions all over the world have all been shaped gradually over centuries according to the existing rules and practices of the people of the place where the religion originated and thereafter spread to other places. So we can say God as a whole represents the moral and ethical values of the people that believe in the God. Gods become peacefull or vengefull as and when the people become peacefull or vengefull. In the ancient times people pleased their Gods by killing people and putting them as sacrifice in front of the Gods.Violence was so much into their lives that even their Gods wanted violence to get pleased. As man matured Gods also matured now the people did not have to kill people to please their Gods as their gods had other things to deal with. So for me God is my own conscience,if I am peacefull then he is peacefull and if I am vengefull he is vengefull.

I think God is loving and peace. HE is good and the mighty one. God is eternal God is not in time or limited by time, but outside of time. This means that God is not affected by time and the changes that occur in it. This sentence is an understanding that God is the Creator. Because He is the Creator, it is not affected by all the changes. God existed before the world was. God is eternal, that is to say God has never changed throughout the history of mankind. If in the past God requires holiness of His people, even in contemporary times that demand remains the same.
