i am wearing eyeglasses for past several years now but since a month, i have headache; hubby took me to a specialist for check up. i was told all things are normal, but i need to change the glasses for both near vision and far vision. doctor prescribed new eyeglasses, that i bought, after using i feel bit relaxed, dr said it may take few days. my husband selected a gold plated frame, the glasses are fabricated from synthetic material, with anti-glare, anti dust and scratch coatings. moreover it is photo sensitive, means i don't have to use sun glass in sunlight, lol I am happy, it is all one. do you use eyeglasses, if so since how long? do you prefer contact lenses than the ordinary eye wear? do respond and share your experience regarding the matter. wishing you all a happy sunday. ann

Blessed Sunday to you too. I started wearing spectacle at the age of 16. Then when I am working, I learn to wear contact lenses. Then I am back to wearing spectacle again when I stopped working at the age of 37. Since then I am wearing until today even though I am back to work again. Spectacle is more convenient and cheaper to maintain. You are so lucky, your husband is very thoughtful!

It's pretty normal for bad eye sight to cause headaches. I've been wearing glasses for about 10 years, but I prefer contacts. I hate glasses.

I was first told that I was going to need to wear eyeglasses when I was just 12 years old, so I've been wearing glasses for the last twenty years. I only need to have corrective lenses for distance and not for reading so that is a good thing in my opinion. However, something really strange has been happening with my eyes in the last several years. What has been happening is that my eyes are slowly getting stronger. I suspect that I won't need to wear glasses any longer within the next two to three years.

I too wears eyeglasses especially when I am reading. The doctor had prescribed me a reading glass because my far vision is just fine. Since most eyeglasses today cost much depending on the frame, I just bought mine without prescription. I don't know if it could affect my vision, luckily I have not experienced having headaches wearing them.

Hello Tiger Aunt. It was very sensible of you to go to your optician to mention your headaches and eye strain. It seems like your new glasses will be suitable for near vision and far vision so that is remarkable. You have some excellent extras like anti glare and photo sensitive. I got reading glasses at age 10 years old. During the next eight years my eye sight got steadily worse. I felt self conscious with my glasses on during evenings out. For my trip around the world at age 20 years old I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses. Over in Australia at age 21 years old on that fantastic trip I got disposable contact lenses lasting 2 weeks. I got used to them slowly and now use cheap daily disposable contact lenses for me being short sighted. I am able to wear ordinary sunglasses. I have a pair of eye glasses for use in the night and when my eyes are sore. I have to have a sight test once a year and I do that at a local optician. I found cheap daily disposable contact lenses which I am delighted with. Have a lovely day.

Wearing spectacle is much more convenient compared to contact lenses. It is costly to use contact lenses, need liquid to soak them too. My second sister using contact lenses and it looks good on her. For myself I preferred spectacle, it is cost effective. However, we must take good care of it, not to get scratches or drop them. My husband always misplace his spectacle and we all have to help him look for it. You husband make the right choice to get you the 'all in one' spectacle. He is a loving husband, do treasure him...

I have been wearing eyeglasses and contact lenses for years now. I only have nearsightedness. I have tried almost different kinds of lenses for my eyeglasses and I like the anti glare the most. Most of the time, I wear my contacts especially when I'm driving or put and about. You see I'm clumsy and sometimes I can't avoid knocking off and breaking my glasses whenever I tuck my hair behind my ear. And also, the eyeglasses would hurt me behind my ears and by my nose bridge. It really becomes so uncomfortable after wearing it for a long time. Besides, I love wearing my sunglasses . But whenever I got home or just be at home like during weekends, I just wear my eyeglasses.

Hello. I also wear glasses because I'm nearsighted. I only use it when I need to, like when I have to read something on the board or at night because my eyesight is worse at night. I prefer glasses. I haven't tried contacts and I think I'm too afraid to.
