Hi, Some people have the habit of swearing. They always say that I swear I have done this or I swear I have not done this or I swear I am telling lie etc. I don't have the habit of swearing. searing was invented as a compromise between running and fighting. Do you have the habit of swearing?

i agree i hate swearing, maybe im just old fashioned but i dont like it. I think that the problem is that nowadays far to many people swear in films, tv shows and music videos that people are subjected it everday and become use to swearing and think nothing about doing it.

not always but sometimes when the other person doesnt trust, we try to add this word that i promise i swear etc., It is actually that which comes automatically , we dont even know that why we should promise when the other person is not trusting.

My friend,I have done that for several times but it is not my ideal manner to swear if I am not having hectic schedules that my time to have a serious solution to deal with my friends and appointees, then I really swear them to have that trust back in my favor. This is done when I have no more other choice, but I have no deal that is done wrong because I am a perfectionist.

Hi, There is nothing wrong in swearing if it is genuine but some people take the advantage of this word and tell lie and swear. This is not fair. Thank you for the response.

I hate it when some people have a nasty habit of swearing in every sentence that they use, and they are not quiet about it either. You hear it a lot on the television especially from programs like Jeremy Kyle, which my father watches a lot, I hate it, I tell him to turn the volume down, because most of the time it's full of expletives. Why do some people find it so necessary to use a swear word every time they speak? It's not polite, it's not endearing and it's actually very aggressive. I have to admit I hardly ever swear and certainly NOT in public.

hi, you are right. Many people use this word in their sentences. I also don't like this word. I think these people feel insecurity. they think or has a doubt in their mind that they would not be trusted by others. thank you for the response.

I looked up in the dictionary what exactly you meant as my native language is Spanish. THere is a synonim that means Taking an oath. My daughter could either "swear" (take an oath) with her hand upon the Bible o "promise" before becoming a judge. The difference was a religious one. You "promise" if you are not religious. As I am agnoistic, I promise. But swearing "just because" would be, as I see it, as a way of commiting perjury, wich is the worst use of a very bad language.

Hi, You are right. Swearing means taking oath. When we take oath then we should act as per oath. Some people use this word only for hiding their lie. So we should not swear if you are not sure about doing it. Thank you for the response.

No, I don't have this habit unless forced by circumstances. But with ordinary conversation I don't swear of things just to prove that I am telling the truth.

I have an Irish temper so I get mad occasionally. To swear I would have to be beyond help and am totally frustrated and need some way to vent. To me that is what swearing is all about. In other words it is used as a last resort. I think some use swearing to get attention and they should be ignored. If someone has a bad habit of swearing they need to work on it.

are sometimes ;) But if realized that I will try to swearing, I have tried to change it with another adage. Because your word is alive. It does not disappear. At least as sound ;)

I have learnt that saying swears is sin and for that I do not like to swear on anything. my husband had terrible habit of saying swear while all were lies.. I talked to him a lot to change this habit and now is better... saying swear is something like disrespecting to trust and honesty, disrespecting to God when it goes wrong and on lie..

life experience taught me that I would not be friend of those or believe to those who used to swear... that is why I do not like . an honest person does not need to say swear or not even promise.. because time is proving honestly and honesty make trust.

Yeah! Hahaha! It's like an outlet for me for my anger instead of smashing things or saying a lot of hurtful things to a person. But I am trying to lessen it because I have a kid. I don't want her growing up swearing. Hehe! Have a happy weekend! ;)

in my situation, i'd better use that when i'm in pinch situation, when all of the people don't trust me. i dunno if it is habit, but i am not. i can make swear easily, it's like you said swear is compromising. and when we said 'i swear....' then we have to take the responsible of what we said. i think that's all

hi, you are right. When you say I swear then we have to take the responsibility of what we said. We should not break our promise. If you would not do as you said then also you would not be trusted by others. thank you for the response.

hi roshigo here in the Us in our courts this is a legal term, they make us use when we for example are being taken as a jury member and just means I promise or when gaining citizen ship,. Now whats wrong with I promise as I often when someone does not think I will do something will say I swear I will do so and so by a certain date. I just mean I have made a legal promise to you and will uphold it.I do not use it often bu t I do not think I am doing Anthiathia wrong when I do.Here iks mot used as any compromise between running or fighting only as a promise.I do not even understand your concept at all. And I resent anyone telling me I am wrong if I do uje it the way its used in my USA

and for your information when I use that word its not cursing its simply telling this ignorant so and so that I do keep my promises. I only use it when its necessary but not like you are talking about and I am baffled at your definition as that is not what that means here in the US in the court system or legal system.

Hi, You are right. It is a legal term in the court. I don't think it is wrong in using the word swear. But some people take the advantage of this word and tell lie. Their swearing is not genuine. We should use this word honestly and try to do as per your swear.

When I was in school I had this habit. At that time I used to think that it was necessary to swear to make other person believe that I was not lying. By the time I came in college, I started feeling that I don't need to swear to make other people believe me and that was the time I left that habit.

Well I swear but only when I am fighting with someone or I am in total bad mood… I am not used to swearing as a habit or even swearing all the time. Usually some people who swears a lot are those who are influenced by their peers such who are driven by a wild lifestyle, they are influenced by the type of language such age group is doing which results to letting them get used to the manner of talking. Such people should realize that they should put gap on the type of people, age group, location, or the environment they put in constructing their language rather than being so careless and swears every single time.

Hi, You are right. These people should think of using constructive language and should avoid being careless and use swearing frequently. Honest people don't use the word swear because they are confident and they believe on truth so they are trusted always. Thank you for the response.

Hi, You are right. When people sear frequently then it is doubtful that they are not telling the truth. Thus they lose their trust from others. Thank you for the response.
