From the time I got home, I've been suffering from allergies. Watery eyes, running nose, sneezing, etc. I must be getting used to the new environment again, the dust, the heat and everything! Yeah, i'm finally in the Philippines. To combat this, I go swimming regularly. Yesterday, I was in my worst condition. So i thought I'd better jump into the pool and exercise to get rid of it. I swam for two hours, feeling normal again. No sneezing, no running nose, no watery eyes. Oh, i felt so much better in the water. The moment I got out though, I started to suffer from my allergies again. Well now, I'm just hoping for the medicine, water and tea to work its magic!

It's maybe because of the heat Toni. Perhaps your body is already used to Singapore's weather that's why you feel like that here. Just try to see a doctor about it first. I h

D, I came from Bangkok. It's hotter there than here. Way hotter, even on rainy days. But our country is more dusty and polluted. That's the problem i think.

That's right D! And even during the summer, at night, the temperature cools down here. But it doesn't there! I'm off to another trip to Isla de Gigantes in a few minutes. Have a great summer D!

Upps sorry, it's Bangkok. Memory gap. Anyway, really it's way hotter than here and even on rainy days. At least here when it rains the atmosphere will suddenly change to a cold one.

hi toni. load up on vitamin c. you can take the non-acidic type if the regular vitamin c causes you troubles. you can pass off as a very beautiful mermaid. you'd give all those actresses who portrayed 'dyesebel' a run for their money! cheers and do enjoy your stay here in the philippines.

'you make me blush allen.' - you know that's not on purpose toni. hehehehehe! 1000mg vitamin c is the required dosage for adults. i take two 500mg sodium ascorbate vitamin c's. serves me just fine. island hopping seems to be the 'in' thing to do this summer. i haven't sniffed a beach yet and i'm very eager to go on a vacation. can't seem to put together a plan with friends and families. i'm cursed. lol! 'nice to see you here by the way. i've missed you.' - i bet you have a 'wabbit' in your pants toni. enjoy your stay here in the philippines toni. have fun with your hubby and son! cheers!!!

As always, it's nice to have a good laugh. You give me that whenever we have our discussions. Anyway, today i'm off to Isla de Gigantes with my family. No cellphone signal, no internet for two nights and two days for me. But it's going to be a great vacation. Will take great photo shots of the white sand islands. Will be visiting a lot of islands. I saw in one photo that it looks like Phuket. Reminds me of the movie "The Beach." Enjoy your week Allen! XOXO

You make me blush Allen. Got no problem with regular vitamin c. I can take upto 1000mg a day. Thanks for the concern. I have two weeks left before going again. Wish I could go to another island again. One that looks like Phuket and better than Palawan. It's about two hour drive from my hometown and another two hour ride by pumpboat. Nice to see you here by the way. I've missed you.

I assume you have long since gotten used to it by now as old as this post is. Interesting that while swimming your allergies improved until you stopped.

Swimming is good for your allergies because the water goes up your nose and cleans out your nasal passages much the way a neti pot cleanses them. It will provide temporary relief, but will not solve the problem.

Perhaps, it is time to consider a permanent move to another region? There are some areas where I cannot be, because I cannot bear the many irritants present there. I know that during my time in Florida, I was in utter misery; that cleared up sometime around South Carolina on our way back North.

I am here only for a month. I'm here only for a vacation. Besides, our business is here. Moving to another region is not an option.

OMG allergies are the worst to deal with. I would have the worse allergies during the months of April and May and then again in September. The itching watery eyes and throat problems and running nose. Then you take medicine and you feel like a zombie and or you just want to sleep. However, since moving out of New York they have become less while I was living in New Mexico. Now living in Puerto Rico I have to say I don't have allergies. I don't miss them at all. I think they now may have a shot you can take to prevent allergies. Maybe you should look into that. Good luck and I hope you feel better real soon.

Well water and tea for you to work its magic!? In my case I can say that sometimes the tea helped me to overcome physical complaints such as colds, sneezing, etc., a bit like in your case. As for the subject of the swim, well, at this point I do not know if the pool water to me would be good for health. I say this because I never go in the pool. But however in the summer I go to the sea. Practically the whole month of July is spent in the home of Piombino (Tuscany, italy) where swimming in the sea, I do it every day. I'm glad for you that you're better, then it means that in your case water and tea to work its magic!

Do you swim for two hours? You are in a good physical condition. Yeah, you're a mermaid :). Perhaps you still can not get adapted to Philippines, because you have recently came back, but surely you will. Take care.

Hello Rick! Yeah, i have revealed my real self, I'm a mermaid! I do swim for two hours in the pool when I have the opportunity. More hours when I'm in the beach. You can't get me out of the water the moment i'm in it. I hope that i'll get well soon because I have two weeks left before I go again.

Hi there, seemed that you need to adjust to the climate in the place you are for now. It would be better to consult a doctor for the problem thats persists right now. Experts would help us a lot in this kind of staff. They knew better than us. It needs to cure before it will go worst. Philippine climate for now is very hot. It would be better to drink plenty of water to avoid from getting heat stroke. When going out it would be good to bring umbrella to cover the skin from too much sun's radiation. Hope everything would be going well:)

Bangkok is hotter than the Philippines actually. And drinking water is no problem for me. I love drinking water. I can consume more than two liters a day. It's the pollution here and the dust i think. I don't usually go out and walk under the sun. When i go, i take my car. The only time i'm under the sun is when i'm swimming.

Hi ! I find your allergy management as a very effective remedy. I have read somewhere that swimming is so good for asthma . It relaxes the lungs. My remedy for allergies are just to take a rest , nap or sleep then after few hours ,those sneezing , colds and watery eyes are all gone. Vitamins C and eating of fresh fruits can help also.

Thanks pinky! I couldn't get rid of this allergy for some reason by just resting. I think i'm not used to the pollution in this country anymore. My immune system has gone down. Yes i'm taking vitamin c and i love fruits!

I have never suffered with allergies, touch wood, but i know I would miss smelling freshly cut grass in summer, newly opened flowers in spring... Think I would hate it! Glad you have found a solution for yours, and keeping fit and healthy at the same time!

Phillipine is also hot like here in Indonesia. I love to swim too. But when I am swimming in public place I tend to get some kind of flu, maybe because of so many people with many health condition go to swim there. I’d love to have a place to swim which not so many people go to there.
23 Apr 13
I can't blame you, we are experiencing too much heat today and we need a lot of water to avoid dehydration and also as much as possible go to place that will ease of so much heat. try putting a cold towel.

We're the same. I feel like I'm a mermaid when I go swim all the time. I can last for more than two hours as well. I don't suffer from allergies though. I swim because it's so hot in the Philippines nowadays. Water is definitely a sanctuary!

Hmm....strange feeling!!!!!!!!but, Mermaids existed only Fairy Tales. If you turn up to be a Mermaid, you could possibly the first one in the world and can get lots of attention and overnight you become a popular figure. But, if you become a mermaid, you will lose the joy of being a human and have to go in search for a Merman as norml man cannot partner you. Keep it as a dream and not desire.
