What is your addiction of choice?

I took this in Japan, Japanese booze!

A discussion got me to thinking (the one I added at the end of this), about addictions. I don't smoke, I do vape a little, but with no nicotine in mine. But my addiction is caffeine. I have to have some ever day. I don't mean soda either. I have limited myself to ONE can of diet soda a day, and some days I don't even do that. No I get the bulk of my caffeine in unsweetened tea (can you tell I am not a born Texan? lol), and in those little things you add to water that come with caffeine like Mio Energy and such. I should cut it out and back, but right now have no intention of doing so. What about you, you have an addiction? What are you feelings on how you are handling it, doing with it, or not?
Nicotine is insidious and once one starts smoking it can be a mighty battle to stop. My fiancee' smokes. Bless his heart he wants to quit so bad but he just...

I know a lot of people say that coffee is theirs. But I wonder if it's not the caffeine there too

@Jessicalynnt Good question and I don't know, but I'm sure it's the caffeine.

I'd probably say that my addiction is soft drinks. I drink a lot of Pepsi and coke. Although I'm slowly getting back a coffee addiction. Since leaving university 4 years ago, I slowly stopped drinking it. But now I'm craving more and more.

@Jessicalynnt that's a good idea. I should try to limit my intake too. It's not always easy though.

@dodo19 well it's easiest if you figure out where you are at, and then slowly step down. doing the cold turkey thing is painful, headaches crankyness, etc.

@Jessicalynnt Someone gifted me a packet. It is in the fridge. I do not much like dark chocolate although they say it is good for health. At the moment I do not have health issues that will bar me from eating other kinds of chocolate.

Used to smoke a lot, but gave up after being operated upon, for a bad case of jaundice. One seems pretty well off without them, than with them!

@Jessicalynnt Yes, a lot of money is surely blown on such pastimes. for a change, I won't mind being addicted to Mylot! It may be the only addiction where you might make a few dollars for a change.

The more you interact the more it should, and nice to see an addiction pay money instead of take money right?

I am really addicted to having a bowl of cereal at night, especially Honey Bunches of Oats. I just can't resist having that bowl late in the evening. As for non-food related addictions, entering contests has to be number one, though I have cut way back. It's the books. It's always about the books.
