I live in historic, colonial New England where the Pilgrims settled. There are houses on nearly every street that once belonged to original residents almost 400 years ago. We have four distinct seasons, but sometimes one will overstay its welcome. Actually, the four seasons in New England are Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter and Road Construction.

@rusty2rusty There weather is much like ours, Sandy, unless she lives in Maine. I've not lived there before, but I've in two other states in that region and they get the weather Ohio or Michigan had a day or so before-generally.

@rusty2rusty,Originally we are from Uttar Pradesh,a state in north India.About a century ago my grandfather migrated to eastern India and settled permanently here. The place I live in is culturally very rich, but financially poor.People here are friendly and very co-operative.They are so intelligent also.We now live at a small town which is now fast developing as an industrial hub.

I'm from Upstate ny in a small town. I grew up here and all my family is still here. There's really nothing to do her we have schools, plenty of fast food places, grocery stores but no place for entertainment besides one movie theater. We have to travel an hour away for entertainment or fine dining and the next movie places our 30 mins away. I like the small town but sucks we are so far from everything even the closest walmart is 30mins. But wouldn't change where I live as i like it and i love country life.

Howdy neighbor. I live in Central NY.. about 20 minutes outside of Syracuse. I'm also in a small town which I love, but we're only 15 minutes away from a bigger town with plenty of amenities.

I grew up in the country life @Blondie2222 I know the passion and love fro it. I currently live in the city. For a true country person, the city destroys a little piece each day. One day I know I will live in the country again.

Manchester England is the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, former Roman fortified town, and the birth place of computer technology. The atom was first split at our university. I love my city.

@rusty2rusty Fortunately there's a huge rapid transit project going on now that's supposed to help to reduce the problem.

I live in mid-Michigan. It's the home of two major corporations. We are close to Lake Huron and north of Detroit. There is much money in my city and many foundations that help our community, but not everyone benefits from the money. The prices are higher here. It's a fairly small town compared to some, but always growing. Twenty years ago it had about 28,000 in the city and 78,00 in the outer areas. There is lots of construction of apartments and such, so I'm sure it's larger now.

I live in Central NY... close to the home of the Great New York State Fair. Home of Dinosaur BBQ, Hoffman's hot dogs, and salt potatoes.. which is something people from outside the region never heard of but they're awesome! We say soda, not pop. We also get pretty brutal winters but it's worse up north. PS, for those who don't know, there's a whole heck of a lot more to NY than New York City and those of us who are 5 hours from NYC really hate that when we say we're from NY others immediately think of the city... when I refer to "the city" I'm usually talking about our closest big city which is Syracuse.

I live in Oregon, outside Eugene in a rural area. I have lived here eight years after getting divorced. Eugene has the University of Oregon, which has the Uof O football team. I live about a mile fomr Walmart SuperCenter as well as a Targe, which is across the street from Walmart. I like it here as I don't have to drive for miles to go shopping, and my bank is also across the street from Walmart. I do like the convenience for sure.

Kolkata, India. It's hot and sultry most of the time, winter is short but comfortable. It was the seat of British Empire till 1911, so we have lots of landmarks and monuments here depicting a mixture of Indian and British styles, my college including one. Here is a pic.
