Do You Do Texting?

I was just wondering if you are the kind of person who loves texting. Personally, I can't stand it and told my friends and family not to bother texting me. And they don't. So they either phone me or email me. I see people constantly texting in public even when they are crossing a green light. They do not watch where they are going. Very dangerous.

Just like you I hate texting, my friends and family know, so or they call or send an email. A sure way not to get a reply is to sent me a text message.

I like texting. Nowadays there are some choices of texting; BBM, Whatsapp Application, Line, and some more. They offer funny emoticon so texting can be fun. Moreover, texting is much cheaper than telephoning..LOL..

I make unlimited phone calls for free. Of course, nobody hears what I'm saying because they're texting at the same time.

I do use text messaging, but share your opinion of the compulsive texting which is so prolific these days. My neighbour is a perfect example of this and he often holds long conversations via text with his friend. He will send a text and wait about 60 seconds for a reply, then type another message and so on. This would derive me crazy. I use text messaging to distribute jokes among a few people or to send a basic piece of information, otherwise I find it easier to telephone them and talk directly.

I don't love to text, but I do love the convenience of it. They can text me their message and I can text back when I am able. It's short and to the point (in most cases). But I really hate typing on that teeny virtual keyboard - drives me nuts.

I text occasionally, but usually just to members of my family who I'm aware may not be able to answer the phone at that time - ie they're at work. Then I know they will respond when they are able to. Also it's very useful when either we or they are travelling.

I use texting very often. One of the things that I like is that I can reply whenever I'm ready, because when I'm busy with something I can't always respond to people immediately. But texting while crossing the road or while driving is too dangerous.

@TheHorse Yeah. But not everyone who has a phone number has an e-mail account. My grand-aunt doesn't.

I love texting even though I don't do much of it, and no, I don't text while driving as it is very dangerous. My daughter will text me a picture of the grand sons or of something that she is making, or to let me know how things are going. We do talk everyday, and the texting is done after talking, especially if something comes up afterwards, that she wants me to know about.

@marlina Yes we sure do. I have unlimited data, talk and text, as well as my daughter as we both have t-mobile. We used to text a lot well over 200 texts a day, but we decided that it is much better to talk.

I do text, but I use this as communication between work, petsitting, the shelter, and just friends. I find I am always on the run and never have time to call anyone really. So texting we can all do at our own time. I don't do it as often, as the two people I did text basically drop off the earth and ignoring me.

I don't mind texting but I don't have to do it much at all except with my brother when he is at work.

Texting is so impersonal. But our kids and grandkids never answer their phones or even listen to voice mail so I've learned to text. My husband usually sends a text that says, "Call me."

I think that lots of people who text do not realize how intruding they are in other's people lives.

I used to enjoy making love with my girlfriend, but we've replaced it with texting. We lie in bed and text about what we would have been doing were it 2005. I also use texting to communicate deep thoughts with friends and to send students comments on their papers. I particularly like texting when I'm trying to tell someone something using spoken language and they're texting while I talk.

Yes, I do text, a lot, to make arrangements and such that are made more quickly that way than a long phone conversation. And to communicate with my sister on a daily basis. And to say hello to my son once a week. And to tell my husband I'm going to be later than expected. I have no problems with texting. It is an important part of my life now.

I'm so hooked on texting when I was in high school like most of the time. I can't possibly imagine my life without it. Now I'm on college and I feel lazy to use text now. Though texting is a necessary need everyday to communicate just be sure where and when to text.
