"I'll just check on things for five minutes, max."

I keep getting sucked in to checking the computer "just for a minute" and end up reading and commenting as the minutes and even hours pass by. I've got to have more self control! Do you have that problem?

Try working here and saying to yourself, "I'll just pop in for a minute and make sure things are running smoothly", lol.

Fun it is! What's not fun is the way my work piles up.

Yes because people have such interesting things to say and talk about half an hour can soon turn into three hours without you even realising it!

If this was the only thing we had to do each day, we'd be fine.

frequently happens to me. At university I was on the computer one afternoon and decided to stop to get lunch. Only when I got outside did I see it was dark. I'd been there for eight hours solid. I watch my computer clock closely nowadays

@Sheilamarie78 I think so though that was in about 1988 - I still stay on line for hours without a break many times though

That's just what I mean. I see a person's name commenting on my post and then I check to see whether the've written anything today, and then I see another name of someone I really like on their post and then that other person I haven't seen for a while on that next post and on and on.

I have to use a timer, otherwise I waste too much time on the computer.

I've gotten a couple of different timers but they don't really work. I like looking at them, though. One's a red owl and the other is a tiny tea kettle.

@Sheilamarie78 even i have that... i usually want to put myself out of this... but i couldn't rest me back .. but one thing even though this computer is very much useful i personally named this as idiot box.. so that when ever i want to work out i remember this as idiot box and i should not work more than 1 hr.... LOL it may seems like a kids mentality but i love to be like this

I always have that problem. I tell myself every morning that I am going to focus and do what I need to do on myLot so I can go on to other things. Then before I know it, I have been on here a couple of hours.

@Sheilamarie78 That does sound like a good idea but knowing me, I would say, just a little more time. Before you know it I would be on here a long time.

It's so easy to get lost here for a time. I like Marie's idea about using a timer.

@Sheilamarie78 doing better all things considered. I was stupid and took a shower without a shower chair this morning, so the brace is back on. Hopefully not for long.

I suppose it helps keep you engaged with other people. That's much better than sitting watching TV. It probably helps keep your mind active, too.
