Put myLot in the title and you're on your way...

If you stop and take a look at some of the discussions that draw many comments and responses, they usually pertain to this site, myLot. Whether it be a question about a guideline, an answer to a question about a guideline or an idea to change/add/delete a guideline - it works. Why? Because the one thing we have in common, all of us, is this site. We are from different countries, different time zones, different religions and ethnic groups. We are short, tall, rich or poor. We are blond, brunette, gray or bald. We are quiet, shy, loud, awkward. We have the same thoughts and we have different thoughts. We agree and we don't agree. We get upset or we calm down. But - what we have in common is myLot and that's why we like to check out discussions about the site.

I get a little tired of constant myLot discussions about myLot, though. I do like to see tips and tricks now and again, but there can be too much of a good thing. But the same was true at Bubblews. People always read the discussion, hoping to glean some interesting news or tip.

It is scary also..imagine somebody announcing something like they are not getting paid. Heart breaking news. Bank breaking news. Tear jerker.

Putting B in any title turns me off, I'm more than over that site.

Putting that B word in the title will probably bring attention awhile longer as more and more people leave there and come here

There would always be questions about mylot because many users want to know more about mylot. Also, all the users are not active at the same time, therefore, they keep starting new discussions about mylot. There are two categories of users, who start discussions about mylot. The first one is - those who were members here prior to 2013 and thereafter left the site and have rejoined it lately. The format which used to exist prior to May, 2013 has drastically changed, therefore, there are always new questions about mylot. Second category is of those users who are green horns here and find it difficult to understand the nitty gritty of the site, those kinds of users keep posting discussions about mylot. I may also mention here that in the older version, there used to be major subject heads e.g. 'mylot', 'love', 'religion' and 'relationship' etc. (I'm just trying to recall from memory). Those heads are no longer there in the present format of mylot. In the older version, it was easier to select the major (subject) head to respond to discussions of your choice.

I think I lost my green horns a few days after I started here a few months ago. I ask a lot of questions but not because I don't know the answer, but I ask knowing others don't know.

Yes, I think many are interested in making more money yet on here. The payout doesn't seem to be enough. And they read the discussions about Mylot for that reason Others actually want to go by the rules and so they read them because of that.

@AbbyGreenhill I agree there are many things that are repeated including the Bubblews saga. I am more likely to go to my favorite writes to if there are several on the same topic but I do I lot of looking and reading everyday. I am always interested in learning more about MyLot and how the sites works not just how to earn more.

@AbbyGreenhill Couldn't agree with you more. I tested your theory last night to see this. A lot of people asked me to write about Tahiti and some of the traditions and different things on the islands. They said they were interested in this. So I wrote up something that starts today and is very important to the people here. Then I wrote up one that had MyLot in the title. I find today my post on Tahiti had 1 yes only 1 person who was interested in it, read it and commented on it. My other post that had MyLot in the title had +23 comments on this one. So looks like what people said to me wasn't what they actually wanted to read. Sort of discouraging to me. Oh well I am getting a feel of what people like by what they post and how others respond. This is an excellent point you have made here about MyLot and the title that attracts people to your work.

This is due to posts about Mylot being easy for most people to respond to. I noticed at several sites that the general posts about the day seemed to attract most responses for the same reason.

so I should just start writing 'mylot' in all of my titles. Good plan :P But all kidding aside, I think you're probably right.

Some time ago I had a discussion with bubblews staff member Tyler about this. He confirmed that posts on site related topics always get a lot of attention. I call this navel gazing. People like occupying themselves with themselves.
