Do you like to write at least a post a day on MyLot?

I'm on my second cup of coffee, getting ready to head into work, but my morning feels incomplete because I haven't submitted a post to MyLot. I'm kind of in the mood to start something controversial, like "Has political correctness gotten out of hand?" or "Is the term 'racism' overused?" but I can't quite muster the mojo to write such a post right now. It's too early for a glass of wine, one of my mojo-enhancers, so those posts will have to wait. I'm left with the possibility of posting about how cold my feet are (the weather has turned cool here in Northern California), writing about the two progress notes I have to finish up and print out (boring) or just asking whether I'm the only one whose morning feels a tad incomplete if I don't post something here. I enjoy heading out into the day knowing that someone might be reading something I've written and maybe commenting on it. It makes coming home just a touch more "exciting." Do think the same way?

Yes, a post per day is exactly my usual target. I do write another if circumstances bring something to my attention and will happily post none if nothing is available to post.

I think like to do one in the morning and one later in the day. But if something usual happens (the terrorist attacks in France; Bubblews shutting down), then I just have to write about it right then.

@TheHorse Settling an average is fine, but I agree that circumstances call for a variation of routine.

@Asylum I don't set goals. I just realized I'd fallen into a pattern. But if something unusual happens, or if I have some brilliant insight while driving, I'll post.

Me I like to post at night then wake up excited to see who read, liked and commented on my post But no, I can't post daily due time constraints and sometimes I couldn't think of an interesting topic.

Now, I could really read a post about your cold feet - you could develop that into something interesting

@valmnz Oh dear. I'm feeling the pressure. Tomorrow morning will be no different from this morning. Will my muse visit me?

Oh my--that would challenge my creativity! But it is cold (by our California standards) in the mornings here right now.

I try to write one a day, too. However, with us watching one of our grandsons and waiting for another one to be born, I have missed a couple of days. The next 10 days will be crazy for me!

That's what I look forward to when I get home. Maybe there'll be a few comments to respond to. Or an interesting new post from someone else that I can get all fired up about.

Because I'm on the other side of the world, I'm always keen to check on my posts first thing in the morning - to see what's been happening overnight.

As I hardly have any time to come and play here I rarely post. It seems impolite to post if there's no time to respond to responses. And yes, PC has gone mad, but I've been saying that for years.

@TheHorse A lefty! shudders with horror. Does that mean if I disagree with you you shout me down as a Nazi? Just joking, you never came across as lefty but in EU parlance you are prob more of what we call a liberal than a nutty lefty.

I also noticed the PC thing years ago, even though I'm a Lefty save-the-world type. I miss your posts. You always made me laugh on "that other site."

@thea09 For me it was a matter of being involved in civil rights, women's rights, and gay rights as a college student, being down on corporate greed and American exploitation of second-world countries under the guise of protecting them from Communism as a very young man, and then devoting much of my career to helping the poor, rather than making big bucks. But I've watched in horror as intelligent Liberalism has been replaced by PC silliness on many college campuses, and the civil rights movement has been made a mockery of by high profile cases like "Michael Brown." I can see Martin Luther King weeping in his grave.

I noticed, looking at my total, that my average is about two per day. Even if I'm leaving lots of comments on others' posts, my "MyLot day" doesn't feel complete unless I post something.

I usually have time after class in the mornings, and then I have a break in the early afternoons as well. Evenings are generally mine, as I can do grading and progress notes at my own pace.

This site is not prodding my writing needs. It just isn't. I do enjoy hassling/bugging others into jawing back and forth so that our quarter pennies add up though.

@TheHorse Trails. Green forested trails wake me. You ask good, insightful questions. I guess I need to go there in my mind. And folks who write well. That also at times wakes the Writing Imp. Part of this is my current excuse: the problems we are going through with my Mom. You want an argument? Tell me how to deal with a lady who is transitioning further into forgetting anything and everything but does not want to be treated like a little kid.

@sallypup Can't think of an argument there. Just listen a lot. Let her tell her stories. And then tell yours when she wants to hear them. Is she in denial about her memory starting to go?

What would it take for it to prod your writing needs? I could use a decent argument, but I'm not sure what I want to argue about right now.

I normally don't write here daily but sometimes it ends up like this. I just basically write if I have something to add or say that might interest people. I did post 2 yesterday and 1 today. But before this I went a few days without posting anything.

Visiting here IS definitely a part of my "routine" at this point. I went to work, edited and turned in my progress notes, and now have some "down time" before lunch. Nothing happened to warrant a post, but I can do a little reading and commenting.

I'll have to check and see where El Dorado Hills is. It never really gets bitter cold here (in the Bay Area), but it drops into the 20s sometimes at night in Winter.

Starting a discussion a day sounds good to me. So far I only average about 20 discussions a month. Some days my time on here is only enough to read and post on other people discussions.

One a day is fine since we are not paid for an article or story that we post. We are paid by interactions.

But interactions include conversations on our own posts! When one of my posts gets "tired," I start to think about posting another.

I think of myself a a post a day person, but my numbers suggest I generally wind up doing two. I'm on my first cup of coffee right now and don't have an idea yet for a post. Maybe one will develop as I comment on a few others' posts.

I like to write at least a post a day, preferably two. One a day is so easy really. There doesn't seem any benefit in writing much more than two.

I agree that more that two is a bit much--at least for me. But if I've already done two, and something really striking happens, then three it will be!

@TheHorse I'm trying to mix my travel ones with things closer to home. The phone tree suddenly raising its head was an extra I hadn't counted on.
