If I Were Your Friend Would You Tell Me ?

I want my friends to be frank with me , because I am that to them . If they notice that I have a lipstick stain on my teeth they should tell me . I would appreciate it so much if they do that , so I can wipe it and not be further embarrassed of talking and smiling , knowing afterwards that I have lipstick stain on my teeth . Oh my ! With my lady boss when I see that her teeth has lipstick on it , I tell her . That’s because I don’t want her to be further embarrassed when she smiles with it at her guests . We would both laugh out loud while she hurriedly wipe the stains in her teeth and thank me blushingly . And she would tell me also when my stockings is so dark . If you are a friend , would you tell a friend that she has a lipstick on her teeth or for both gender , a stain on their teeth ?

definitely, because we are friends, but if the person is not a real and true friend but just an acquaintance, and has some attitude, i will just tell to another, to tell her of the lipstick stain on her teeth; that way, she could wipe it off thus avoiding embarrassment.

If i were a person who sees you in that situation i would surely tell you even if you are not a known person . I actually encountered something like that and i go near the lady and whispered to her . She was so thankful . But as to lipstick stain in the teeth of other people , i just would not look again .

I would tell the person because I would not want them to be further embarrassed. But if the person is far away and I don't know them then it isn't common for me to get up to tell them.

@SIMPLYD I have told strangers that they had something on them or like toilet paper on their shoe. but if they are far away and I saw it - I would not run up to them... just if I happen to be right there.

You know, you bring up a great discussion. I think people in all relationships should discuss these kind of things early on so each person knows what the other wants. If we were friends and I knew that you wanted me to let you know about these things, I would definitely let you know! But if a friend told me she would be too embarrassed and didn't want to know, I'd keep my mouth shut. And if I had a friend who had never told me her preferences, I would take her aside privately to let her know and go from there. :)

@SIMPLYD What a nice thing to say! I don't have a lot of very close friends but the ones I do have are loved and respected by me. It's how I'd want to be treated. :)

Of course! It's the friendly thing to do. As you say, I'd appreciate it if my friend told me about a stain or some such. So why wouldn't I return the favour for someone I care about?

And eating could eliminate the lipstick on my lips . Yes, it depends on how close you are to the person indeed . Because if not , it would be offensive . So better just don't mind as if you didn't see it .

I also agree to that , that it depends on the attitude of the friend . It hurts me when we do something like that and yet they won't appreciate it and instead just give you a cold shoulder after that . Well , if that's the way , then next time i will just let her just be embarrassed . No preventing anymore to be that .

@SIMPLYD I once told my best friend, towards the beginning of our friendship, that the ticket was hanging out of her t-shirt and she was amazed. She said she'd never had a friend who'd tell her that before. I couldn't believe how appreciative she was, it was so normal to me

People who doesn't tell what's wrong with you in a simple way are not friends. they definitely wants to see you embarassed. how ever, there are people that really scared of offending some one or just too busy to tell you.

With friends, it would come out naturally. No need to think even. But with strangers, I would think. I will approach them if whatever it is very very embarrasing. Lipstick stain in your teeth is not as embarrasing as mishappen clothes! Edit: So I would approach the former and leave the latter

I faced the situation. I go by hints. So I gave hints after hints, the girl chose not to take them, or did not understand them, I felt I did my bit. In general, there could be gentler ways of doing it all. When I walk into the room, and I find somebody with say lipstick stain, then I would walk up to them and say can I have a word with you, please it is urgent. In private. So the lady presumably will accompany me. I will ask her lets go to the washroom it has something to do with my dress..and there I will ask her if some hem is out or something...because I am feeling odd, and then look into mirror to see if my lipstick is ok..she would also do the same and know what I was getting at.

Well, we are opposite in that case . I would really go to the person and tell her about her clothes , because i think it would be much embarrassing than having a lipstick stain , which usually happens to all of us .

i dont normally do this kind of thing but im always honest once a friend asks for my opinion about her or something. only when they ask me.. but for that lipstick scenario, i would only do so if shes a close friend.

Actually , i think it depends on the brand of lipsticks we use . There are some that doesn't stain the teeth . And besides there's a technique , you wrap with tissue your two middle finger and blot your middle part of the lips with lipstick with it . That way , the lipstick will not stain your teeth .
