My First Piece

I have been rather nervous today, and a little excited. I started a journalism internship. I was nervous as I didn't know what to expect. I worried that my work wouldn't be up to standard or that it wouldn't be what they wanted. I thought I'd just be meeting the team and finding out more about the company, so it did come as a bit of a surprise to be asked to write about Britain's exit from the European Union. That's a rather major story. I was left to get on with it. I didn't know if they'd use it. Well, not only did they use it but they made no edits, accepted it exactly as I had written it, and set it as a featured article. I would call that a good day. I have no idea what I'm doing with them next. I'm sure I'll find out soon. Anyway, I got a little excited to see my article and my name with 'reporter' at the end of it. Just wanted to share. I should be sleeping, because I'm tired, but I think I'm a bit too excited. I will sleep soon though. Good night.

Congratulations! It sounds like a very good day. I would have said that you always had it in you to write. Actually, all of your family do (well, I don't know about Mr Croc: he doesn't figure much online, but it wouldn't surprise me.)

Congratulations! What a great start - and with no edits too. That's wonderful.

Wow, that does sound like a good day. I started an internship a while back and it IS scary being thrown into a company or organization and not really knowing "exactly" what you'll be doing. Sounds like a great experience though. Let us know how it continues to go.
