We are back from shopping and so happy to be inside where it I nice and cool.
The stores were quite busy today and the outside temperature was scorching.
I am surprised that some places were still trying to sell flowers at a still elevated price as far as I am concerned. I am afraid that they will get stuck with them.
Are you still buying flowers for this summer?

Hot and humid here to. Did a little wood chopping in the evening when the sun wasn't so strong. Would have loved to get more done but I'm not trying to kill myself either.

Our predicted storms are rolling through now. No outdoor work to be done. Lots of rain, wind and water. I guess I will stay inside today.

No flower buying here, though they're pretty to look at. We're in a drought and waters expensive!

We're not buying flowers, but there is a store we go to where I'm always eyeing the 50% rack of their garden section. I am told they are not dying plants, but they just need clean up. That may be true, but it's very possible they could still die once we get them home - it is super hot right now.

@marlina Well, we are in a drought, so the drought tolerant plants are more popular - even though the flowers and such are still sold in the garden shops. We all know that once we get florals home, they probably won't last - not where we are anyway as no one wants to get dinged for too much water usage. We have dry, too sunny and warm/hot conditions . . . all the plants get too thirsty to thrive here.

I bought a nine pack of portulaca at the store last week. They love the heat and I got them for half price. I already had two small plantings of them and this should make two or three more. Other things I would not buy. My fibrous begonias are doing okay, but my impatiens are sad. Others are in between.

I couldn't remember when was the last time I bought flowers. I'm actually thinking of putting flowers in my office desk.

I rarely buy flowers. I have roses around our home that I cut occasionally. Other than that, I just enjoy flowers in nature.

Beautiful flowers. Will it last for so long, I mean, can those flowers withstand cold weather, so people have to buy again next summer? So they should sell it low now.
