Me and @rebelann, we hatched a cunning plan!
It meant crippling a post here, oh gee, oh man!
Ending the Title with a backslash
Left your post unable to earn cash
Or be deleted, reported or liked - how awfully thran.
Both Bugsy and Admin did so concede,
The quirk, it was in drastic and urgent need
Of a very large boot,
What a hoot!
I laughed so much I near peed!
But all is well that ends well,
These posts have heard their death knell.
Deleted, removed, now history.
Ex-posts, obliterated all three
All 'coz of a bug in the code, we hear tell.
So the moral of this saddest of tales
Is be careful of smilies whose use entails
Special codes and symbols
That cause myLot's gimbals
To wobble and fall off the rails!
(edited in light of events told herein, names changed to protect the innocent )
I discovered a little myLot quirk earlier, one which resulted in me posting a single-line post with just a picture of an Inception film poster, with a hand...

Occasionally - and for no obvious reason - URLs don't get parsed and converted. The solution is usually to edit and repost (just edit & repost sometimes works but putting an extra space or a carriage return after the URL usually does it). As you can see, back/forward slashes in the title don't appear to matter (they get converted to '-' in the URL, anyway).

That's a very common thing I have seen among other members. The link doesn't work like it should so they avoid it altogether. The solution to that is:
1. Copy and paste the link
2. Hit "enter"
3. Hit "submit"
4. Refresh the post 2-3 times!
5. If this still doesn't work then repeat the process all over again.
Best of luck!

The Post is also not accepting responses, seems the \ character in the Title has created a Zombie post...
My way for getting a link to become active is similar to yours: Paste url onto a line in your post, with a blank line above and a full-stop (period) on the line below. Then save and refresh the browser.

@pgntwo I have encountered similar post with Patsie Hatley sometime back. Her post wouldn't let me respond either. Or even like it. Though I didn't know the reason. Now I do lol Strange!

Thank you for posting this, last night I tried to edit it, no luck, then I tried to delete it, also no luck. This morning I will attempt to delete it again and I think as you mentioned I should not have used the forward and back slash ...... lesson learned, I won't be trying to use those characters when attempting to create emojis in the title.
I hope @mylotbugs or @goaskalice can shed some light on the problem.
That image is hilarious so fitting for this time of year

I saw your posts but I had a lot of trouble just trying to access your discussions in general @pgntwo I think tween the two of us we may have broken mylot ..... I saw 3 titles on your list with that slash in it, I swear I'll never use those in combination in any title ever again.
To think it isn't even October 31st yet........

@pgntwo - Friend PGN - Yes indeed. Those computer things will get you if you don't be careful. especially here on the Mill with all of us Mill Otters swimming around. (Funny stuff - must have been developed over there in Londonderry) [past tense - or perhaps pluperfect]. -Gus-

Thank you very much, @GoAskAlice, appreciated!
P.S. You missed this one, can it be deleted also, please? Thank you.
What gives with my Follower @rebelann's latest post, @MyLotBugs? Can't like it, can't suggest or respond to it, might be able to report it, but I have not...
