Money doesn't bring happiness?

"Money doesn't bring happiness" true or not? Bring out your point of view down here. And feedbacks are warmly accepted for my view as well. Money brings smoothness in home and work environment. Sufficient money income can provide humans with what they need. A bit more than "sufficient" can provide humans with what they WANT as well. Isn't it today's fact that today's important things do include technology and highest education possible? Obviously these are the things provided by money isn't it? Money gives you smoothness, satisfies you by providing you what your needs and necessities are, and do GIVE you happiness by providing what you want and desire. But another side of the same coin says- money is a responsibility to be handled, it can bring you a stressed and tensed periods in your life. But, both are the truth. And I do believe that money does bring you happiness!

I do not believe that money brings you happiness. You can have all the money in the world and still not be happy. Happiness comes from within. Money can make life easier and you can buy whatever you wish but sometimes that isn't enough. They still desire more. I know many people who have money and are still not happy in life and yet there are other who are barely making ends meet but they are happy.

@happy2beme I 100% agree with you! I know someone who's close to me. She has a few vehicles, a boat, goes on vacations, gets her nails done, eats out all the time and she complains more than ANYONE I know!! Meanwhile my family can barely pay our bills and she's jealous of my life-weird...

I think poverty brings sadness, as does debt. Wealth seems like a good way to Start being happy - but for me personally happiness is about being happy with myself and my actions, and having my friends and family in my life. I think there are probably many rich people out there who do not have this.

Money is a tool that may help you find happiness, but it depends on how you use it. Lots of rich people are miserable because being able to buy whatever you want is not necessarily going to make you happy. There's so much more you can do with money besides buy stuff.

Money brings comfort, and a certain peace of mind. That's a sense of satisfaction. Only other people bring you true happiness, or take it away.

I was thinking the same thing. Relationships bring happiness.

A well versed line related to this: "Valuing money over relationship, ruins relationship." Valuing money is somewhere the truth now-a-days. I'm glad you came up with this point! Its important to value relationship over money, value people over money and value other's needs over money. And when you have people in your life who respects you, adores you and like you..its always the source of happiness!

Its interesting to know that the old saying has now been refuted by many that money can now buy happiness in the form of luxuries. Maybe its true, but only up to a certain extent, and for a limited time period. It doesn't hold good forever to entirely change that saying altogether. You may have money to buy a porche or a ferrari, but you cannot buy cure for your loved ones suffering with cancer or AIDS. What's the use of such money when you cannot buy the happiness you want? Also when you have lots of money, you will have loads of people swarming around you like bees. But how many of them love you minus your money? None, they will all vanish sooner than you can blink, in case your money vanishes. Money also brings loneliness. Outside you may live in the midst of a crowd, but only inside you know how less you actually connect with any one member of that same crowd.

@RitzzView yeah... Agree with you that we can gift happiness to our loved ones... Even I wish to do that if I have money...my point is that immediate happiness can be the result of money but not the ultimate sense of satisfaction... I don't have much money but still I am happy and content with the life I live..

'Money can bring happiness in the form of luxury' one piece by you here. Yes, I did mean this, but also isn't it good that you can buy anything for the people you love? I also meant this.. I can give charity, I can help my dear ones financially and of course, I can buy me what I like. AIDS and cancer can't be cured, it's true. When I say money can bring happiness, I don't mean money can buy EVRRYTHING you desire. There ARE limits for everything, so does money. Somewhere, at some point of life you got to accept the cruel facts of world. Attractiveness...aha! Such an attractive thing money can be..people attach with you like magnet pulling iron. But all are here only for one reason "money". Its not hidden at all. But tell me one thing..is it only money that brings this? Or is it like any other kind of attractiveness also? Well in girls case its (famously) said that her body is attraction. In man's..it is money. But, it depends on how you carry your personality throughout. Cause personally I have known few people who are rich, but also have reliable and good friends. And there's a fact- all are lonely at some or the other point of the life.

Life in this world is easier when one has enough money to take care of their needs and also have a bit extra to help other people. So in a sense, we are happier when we have enough money. But lets say money did not exist, it wouldn't make a difference as far as happiness in concerned. In this world we need money to do certain things but money in itself does not bring happiness or unhappiness. Let's say I was in a desert, would money make me happy or would some water make me happy?

@RitzzView Well Joy comes from the depths of the Soul. And only when the Soul experiences the Savior does Joy spring forth. If is not this, it is not Joy, but a mere excitement.

Being joyful is an attitude. It doesn't come with any thing as such. We bring it into our lives. So, it was never connected with money

I guess you and the other mylotters already explained why money can give us happiness. As for me, money gives you that sense of security. You know you're secured if you have cash, because you can have access to the things that you need and even to those whom you don't. That's the reason why most relationships (marriage) fail here in our country, because the other person can no longer provide money to his household.

@RitzzView I'm from the Philippines. If the guy is unable to support his family, most likely the wife will have a hard time and that's usually the primary cause of separation.

That's so bad to know that relationships or marriages are broken due to less financial income from the partners. Which country do you live in?
