My Christmas Present to Myself

For years I've always wanted a Kitchen Aid stand mixer but could never afford one and then I reached the point in my life that I didn't think I've ever use one enough to justify the cost.
But, this past weekend QVC had the Kitchen Aid stand mixers on sale and also on easy pay which makes it so much easier to buy than having to come up with the whole amount at once. Monthly payments rock!!
Since my daughter and family live with me now she and I thought it would be great to get the mixer so we could make all our favorite Christmas cookies this season. Maybe I can even get the granddaughters over to help out too.

I already cleared a space on the counter so I won't have to constantly lift it from somewhere to use it

I don't usually ever treat myself to Christmas presents, but last year I found an amazing deal on a leather jacket that was just too good to pass up, so I bought it for myself and told my two kids that it was their Christmas present to me! lol

@Marilynda1225 They were very grateful! But I still gave them each some money when we were at the mall to pick my out some small gifts. I love seeing what they can come up with!

Wow nice. I have always wanted one too. I wonder if they are still on sale I will have to go take a look. I am so tired of my hand mixer.

That is great! You must be happy! I have always wanted a stand mixer too. They do have cheap ones at Dollar General but I couldn't vouch for the quality. They are probably junk. My friend would probably buy me a stand mixer..but I think I will wait until I move..and buy my own.

I'd probably be a little cautious about buying a stand mixer at Dollar General. Hope the day comes when you indulge yourself and get one

Nice! That's one thing that's always been on my want list, but I just never bought one. I am sure you will make great use out of it . . . so enjoy! Surely it will make things easier and save you some time (oh one day I hope to get one too!). And save us a cookie

Everyone will probably get bored with all the posts I will do about what I'm using my mixer for. Hope that someday comes soon and you get your mixer too

Is this some big mixer that you have a bowl with and so on? I was just thinking there is one in my cupboard I have not used for years and wonder if it still works and why I don't make a cake with it. It is good you were able to treat yourself.

Santa brought me mine a few years ago - but now Santa thinks I should have one of the new smaller/lighter models since he is the one that has to get it out and put it away for me...I can hardly lift it. I told Santa no way, I'm keeping my red one, I love it.

@Marilynda1225 We have a ton of counter space but the mixer is red, my favorite color, but it really doesn't go with the kitchen...so it gets put away. You will love it - I never enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies until I got it. Last year Santa got me the hand mixer which is so powerful I use it a lot over the stand mixer.

@AbbyGreenhill Santa brought me a hand mixer years ago which I use all the time but I've always wanted a Kitchen Aid and am ready to dial whenever QVC has them on. After being at my daughters for Thanksgiving and seeing her whip up her mashed potatoes in no time I just had to buy myself one when QVC had it on over the weekend. I opted for the stainless color so it would go with my kitchen as I change the colors. Otherwise I would have gotten the red.

If my daughter didn't live with me I probably wouldn't have bought it but since she loves to cook & bake I'm sure we'll get plenty of use out of it

I did reward myself and I used the excuse that I have a big birthday coming up too so it pushed me over the edge to incorporate it into a birthday/Christmas present to myself.
