Today started out to be an easy day due to student absences. Things that had been concerning to me got eliminated by this. We had time to all visit within the classroom too. I left work planning to go to the thrift shop and then to the grocery for some parmesan cheese and then go home to make lasagna. Got some good bargains at the thrift shop, and then this teen age girl came up to me in the store, asking if I had the black two door car. It seems my one rear tire went flat and the other was headed down. Hubby was home, and came to change my tire, to the donut. He will get the tire fixed tomorrow, it is nearly new. We ate Subway sandwiches before going home, and they were very good. We will have lasagna tomorrow. It is always good. I am beginning to be very tired of cars sabotaging my life.

I know that feeling. At one time my husband and I joked, if we lived in the horse and buggy days....our horse would be sick.

And the buggy would lose a spoke from the rim.

Oh I loathe car problems. Seems like when one thing goes wrong, 3 others follow. We doctored up the tires on both of our vehicles until they reached the point when they needed to be replaced. I had 2 front tires put on my car a couple of weeks ago. A few days later replaced the back tires. Now my husband's truck tires are needing to be replaced. Of course the tires for the truck cost much more. Yay us!

@GardenGerty we just sunk nearly $2000 to get the truck repaired.

Cars can be such a headache. I remember my first car, the tires were so bad that if I parked too close to the curb I would get a flat.

It always helps to have a spare car if you drive old ones, and we do not at this time.

Oh, the tire is an ongoing saga. . . maybe another post later. Subway is a good place to get a fairly healthy meal. We are still using our collected gift cards.

It does at that. In this part of the country though we cannot do without them and still have jobs.

@GardenGerty There is no public transportation where I live, we would be housebound without our vehicles.

At least tires are a relatively easy repair, nothing as costly or time consuming as when there are engine troubles.

It seems perpetual. The cars all know when I want to spend money elsewhere.

At least your hubby could come save you and you weren't stranded. I love both Subway sandwiches and lasagna.

If he had not been available and nearby I would have had to go through insurance to get it taken care of. This was much easier and gave me a great dinner companion.

@GardenGerty We often say 'funny peculiar, not funny haha' just so people get the right end of the stick - another odd saying!

The ones with computerized systems require specialists to work on them, too.

Hubby says if someone had done that they would not have replaced the valve stem. He says more than likely it is dirty rims and the cold air made the tires go down. I am just glad I did not go far with them down.

Cars have a way of doing this eh? So sorry you had that flat tire. What sort of things were you able to get in the thrift shop?

I got a desk chair for my computer desk that appears brand new. I had been looking for one and had priced them from forty to seventy five dollars. The chair I bought cost me fifteen dollars. The money goes to a good cause, supporting our local hospital.

Where we have moved to it would be impossible without one but I know, they can be a pain.
