My cats just knocked over my Christmas tree.... luckily it only had the lights on it and none of them broke. My grand daughter is going to help me decorate it tomorrow evening. It is standing again for now. I am worried about decorating it now. So have your pets ever knocked over your tree?

Sorry to hear your cat knocked your tree over. We don't have this problem our cats are outside and our dog is not aloud in livingroom.

Awe man, I hope they don't knock it over again. We've had pets knock ornaments off in the past.

I had to get rid of both my cat and my dog recently because I have applied for a low income apartment. Last year, however, those little monsters teamed up with my kids to completely wreck the tree. It was a fake tree, so branches became disconnected and twisted in the lights and garland, and all of the ornaments on the bottom half of the tree ended up broken or removed.

Mom's home was the only place we'd have christmas, I've never had a tree here. I wonder what those kitties would do if I bought one.

Moms kitties never got into her trees but I'm not sure if it was their idea or if she kept the room with the tree closed off so they couldn't @Happy2BeMe

You can make sure to fix the tree so that they cannot knock it down. Cats always knock down trees and decorations.

@Happy2BeMe I have seen so many funny videos on YouTube, cats can make a real mess with the decorations.

Years ago when I had cats they seemed to knock down the Christmas tree at least once every year! But right now, I currently don't have any pets, so I think my tree is safe from falling over! lol

@Happy2BeMe Now that would be hilarious if I had one too many adult beverages and stumbled into the Christmas tree and knocked it over! I promise I'll be careful and avoid going near the tree if I've imbibed! lol

Yes they have @Happy2BeMe ; and that's why I bought a 3-ft, pre-lighted tree and it's only up for the time-frame that my sister comes to visit. Please don't do any tinsel. If a cat ingests that, it can twist their intestines as well as choke them.

Yes I knew about the tinsel because it happened to a friend of mine with her cat so there will never be tinsel on my trees.

The pets have never knocked over our Christmas tree.n come to think of it, I don't think we've ever had a tree fall down. Now my garland around the window.....this is the first time ever (knock on wood) that my garland has not fallen.

you are lucky. My older cat never bothered the tree but the younger one loves to get himself in trouble. He is so bad.

Our older cat has absolutely no interest in the tree nor has she ever had interest in them. Our younger cat on the other hand is a nutball. She climbs up inside it before we decorate it.

A pet has not knocked over my tree but when my boys were little I put it in a playpen to keep them away from it. Of course, that would be merely an interesting challenge to a cat!

I've never had a cat, but our dog used to like sniffing round the tree. She never actually knocked it over though. I hope your cats let yours alone once it's decorated.

try adding some weight to the feet, like bricks, or big books under the tree skirt, that helps

I think because one cat was behind it hiding and when the other cat walked by he went to jump him and he caught the tree stand and tumbled the tree.
